    Okay I think I'll give this a shot. My name is Carrie and I currently weigh 146. I'd like to lose at least 10lbs by Valentine's Day. I am 27 years old and have a 1-year-old son, Wesley, and a 3-year-old daughter, Monroe. I recently married my children's father after dating for about 5 years, in October of this year. I am looking forward to this!! Let's do it!

    Okay-- I am in as well... I would really like to loose 50++lbs by my birthday... which is April 10th-- (26yrs)....I am a full time student and stay at home mom of three beautiful girls...My life gets pretty stressful as my husband is RARELY home due to a heavy work load... but I am committed and for the first time in awhile I have my head IN the game to do this...I recently lost my father (feb) from a massive heart-attack at age 50, I really need to do this, first and foremost MYSELF, and of course my family and health :)
    I have been working out consistently and ran about 4 5K's this year, however, I have been neglecting my "diet"...as of right now I am working on being consistent across the board...
    So, see ya all next Wed....

    I would love to do this, but my weigh-in is on Fridays. Can I still do it? I tried weighing on a different day for a Thanksgiving day challenge and it became a nightmare and I learned my weigh is all over the place....so Fridays it is for me!!! Let me know friend!!!

    I recently lost my father (feb) from a massive heart-attack at age 50

    sorry about your loss. i lost my dad this year too, in may from prostate cancer; he was only 58. :( it has been very hard on me.

    Hello! My name is Dixie. I am 23 years old and the mother of a 4 1/2 month old little boy. Most of my "baby weight" came off on it's own but now I've stopped losing and for some reason, I'm having a really hard time breaking the plateau (any advice is greatly appreciated). I started the 30 Day Shred about 10 days ago and I am keeping my calories at 1500. My goal is to lose 8-10 more lbs by Valentine's Day. I spend pretty much all of my extra time with my baby and husband...they are my heart and soul!
    P.S. This is the first Challenge I've ever done and I sure hope it goes well!

    I'd love to join! The Thanksgiving Challenge was great. My weigh in day is Friday so I've changed the dates.

    My name is Christy. I am 34, a stay at home mom and home school mom, wife of a small business owner.
    My husband and I have been married for 15 years 4 months =-), we met less than 11 months before we were married. (Scared his mom. When my son was born I understood her protectiveness much more.)
    I have 4 children. My oldest will be 14 on Thursday! The other 3 are 12, 10 and 9 months. We adopted our baby when he was 4 days old, he's one of the greatest gifts of my life!

    Hobbies/How I like to spend my time: Coach and Play Soccer, Photography, Swimming, Running, Home Improvement, Traveling, Sewing, Knitting, Quilting, I like to be creative and active

    I'm Melody. I'm 35 and currently staying at home with my almost 5 year old. I have about 80 more pounds to lose to get to my goal weight, and I know I need this challenge to get me through to spring when I can get outside and exercise again! I'm hoping to run/walk a 5K at the end of February too, so this is perfect for getting ready for that.

    Hi everyone! I'm Mande -- been on MFP for about a year now. I'm currently an at-home wife, but I'm hoping to land a job at the district court where my hubby is currently working as a clerk. For fun, I play a LOT of video games with the hubby, and I love to read. I'm hoping to start trying to become a mommy towards the end of this coming year. :blushing: It's something I've been wanting really badly the last couple of years, but health and finances have to be a bit better first!

    I'm going to try for an 11 lb loss by Valentines (my wedding anniversary is the 13th, so that too!)

    Dawn and Patty: So sorry for the loss of your fathers this year. I lost my dad 6 years ago (colon cancer) and still miss him like crazy every single day.

    Dawn: wtg helping out the colon cancer cause! I'm at a high risk for getting colon cancer (long story short) - after my dad was diagnosed, I wanted to get check out too. My dr. told me I was too young to worry but I pushed for it (I was 31). 3 yrs later I got in finally and sure enough they found a polyp and removed it. The specialist later told me that it was very close to turning to cancer - if I had waited another 6-12 months, it would have been cancer. I'm so glad I took a stand and insisted on the colonoscopy! Now I have to go for one every 3 years (next one is at the end of this month! wish me luck!)

    Anyway - my name's Jenny and I'm 38 and single. 2011 is the year of the baby. Going to knock myself up via donor insemination! Physically, I gained 10 lbs this fall because I sprained my ankle really really badly and had to stop running and other things. I still am not healed. Even if I do a lot of activity in a day, my ankle will bruise and swell and it's been 3 months! So exercise is a challenge and since I live alone, I often comfort myself with food. Things have got to change! I've lost 5 lbs in the last 2 weeks so hopefully things are looking up and I can keep it going.

    Okay... so I'll join in. I have 20-ish lbs to lose altogether but am hoping to be in the 150's by Vday.

    Hello everyone! I am in real need of motivation, so thought I'd join this challenge (my first one ever). I am 35, 140 lbs, 5'4", single with no children. I've been on the site for 2 weeks now and lost 1.5 lbs right in the beginning, but have flat-lined since then and it has really hit my motivation. I try to work out several times a week, but I hate working out for the sake of working out, so I try to do outdoor activities (hike, rock climb, garden, yard work, kayak, etc), however this is becoming harder as our temps keep dropping (first snow of the season today).
