  • my name is Amanda and I am working off my baby weight after my 7th child. I had previously been 270 lbs and got down to 140 lbs through diet and exercise before conceiving this baby. (I gained 80 lbs with his pregnancy)

    Hello everyone. Today has started on a good note, I'm down 1.8lbs!!! Wooohooo! I started my weight loss journey over a month ago and this is the first time the scale has budged so I'm super excited! Hope everyone's weigh in goes well today!

    I'm in...I started my journey Jan. 2010 and so far I've lost 41 lbs. I had gall bladder surgery in March 2010 which has forced me to re-evaluate my eating habits. I would like to lose about 40 more lbs. in 2011. So I need all the motivation I can get especially this time of year.

    Think I've officially hit a dreaded plateau - I've been within the same 1/2 pound for 3 weeks now. I just need to keep plugging along and hope my body will catch up eventually.

    Good morning All!! today was one of those days when MY ALARM didn't go off!! So of course I rushed out the door and was unable to weigh in...I will be sure everything is working appropriately for 2mrw morning and will report back!! I am definitely nervous and excited... I am CERTAIN the scale will be in my favor tomorrow!!:)

    I want to play too!

    I would love to lose 15 pounds by Valentine's day. I've already lost 7 since I joined MFP and I have 30 to go by the end of April or May, i'm pretty flexible.

    A little about me: 27 years old, recently graduated, currently unemployed, looking for my career as a registered social worker.

    My weigh-ins are on Mondays, so i'm just going to adjust the dates to accomodate my weigh-in :)

    Hi, Im interested in joining but my weigh-in days are Friday. Is it ok if I use my weight from that day?

    Edited to add my info...After reading the thread, I noticed a couple of people also weigh in on Friday so I got my answer.

    So, excited about this challenge. My name is Renee, Im 190.9 lbs and my ultimate goal (as of now) is to weigh 159 lbs. This will put me in the BMI healthy range. I'd like to lose 15.9 lbs by Valentines Week. I am married with two toddler boys (1 and 2 1/2). I like to read (very hard to find time with 2 toddlers) and go for a walk on the beach with my family.

  • Hello ladies...and men, if there's any that are participating. This challenge sounds perfect for me! I'm only 8.5 pounds away from reaching my ultimate goal of 120 punds, although I might change it once I reach it. So for this challenge my goal is to loose 5 pounds. I'm so excited because I recently broke a plateau that I had been on for a month!

    411 on me: I'm 25 years young, I work full time, and go to school. I'm pretty good about waking up at 530a to go to the gym before work, but knowing I have a weekly weigh in to report to will keep me motivated!

    Anyway, I'm looking forward to this challenge and sharing ideas! Good luck to everyone!

    WHAT I LIKE TO DO FOR FUN: BIBLE STUDY, ATTENDING CHRISTIAN MEETINGS, LISTEN TO MUSIC, GO TO CONCERTS, SPEND TIME WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

    MY name is Kizzy. 30 years old. I've been battling with weight loss since I was a child. Highest weight EVER was 189 ibs back in 2002/2003. Lowest weight since started weight loss journey back in 2002/2003 was 150s. When I stopped going to in person weight loss support group meetings back in 2005/2006...that's when the pounds started creeping back up.

    I was born in california, raised in oklahoma, now i live in california again. been living here since august 2010.

    if anyone wants to do a challenge this weekend, it is: TO WRITE OUT YOUR NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS AND POST THEM. i will post the challenge on thursdays after the weigh-in. it will be a random idea and you can chose to participate or not. if you do, have fun setting goals to improve yourself! :)

    1.) read one chapter of the new testament each weekday
    2.) teach my children to pray more deliberately, and pray more purposefully for my children
    3.) spend 30 minutes a day PLAYING with my kids (board games, card games, wii, outside)
    4.) make time for my vanity everyday, including using a face moisturizer, wearing mascara and exercising at least 20 minutes
    5.) call my brother and sister once a week, leaving a message for them counts
    6.) write a letter (or card) once a month and MAIL it to my grandpa
    7.) run (without walking) a 15k with my friend nicole on march 27
    8.) make 2 nights a week be meatless meals by may 30
    9.) finish painting the dining room (with new wainscoting) by july 30
    10.) take a 'girl's vacation' with just my mom, sister and sister-in-law by september 30
    11.) be pregnant or start adoption process
    12.) release clutter/simplify

    New Year Resolutions for me::

    - Reach my goal weight before my 28th birthday in July
    - Make many more homemade meals
    - Try not to go to bed angry
    - Get my photography business going and begin to make some $$$
    - Dedicate 1 hour to my children daily
    - Maintain weightloss
    - Get license
    - Possibly start school
    - Visit my dad
    - Be prepared for all holidays and birthdays

    I haven't really considered new year's resolutions yet but here's some hopes for 2011:

    1) quit smoking for good. yes, it's on and off right now.
    2) talk to and visit my family more, especially my mom <3
    3) train for and run a 5K when my best friend returns from South Korea
    4) reach my goal weight of 130lbs by the end of April, if not, the end of May. I just want this weight off before my birthday in June.
    5) take a vacation with my bf
    6) find an amazing job and make money!
    7) work on professional development, attend workshops, read more journal articles
    8) buy new wardrobe
    9) maintain healthy lifestyle, but allow myself treats from time to time

    that's all i can think of for now
