    Hi Everyone!!!

    I walked a total of 6 miles today. I went on the treadmill 30 minutes that's actually 1.5 miles. And I got another day in for my Beach WALK 5 miles. My LEGS are killing me, Im so sore UGH!!!

    I tried both web sites given for the walking Maps / The first one didn't go through ??? And mapmywalk.com I couldn't figure out how to use it :embarassed: . So I guess, I have enough things to fill out with MFP, to be able to keep up with something else.

    Hmmm? Was it Tracy that secretly admits to liking the boosted walking? I like them too. And my favorite move would have to be the multiple knee lifts. The doubles and the quads too! Is that not weird? But I don't particularly care for the double side steps. I don't know why but I don't. :ohwell:

    Yep, that was me :blushing: If you'd asked me 3 months ago what my least favorite part of the workouts was, it would have been the boosts. Like some of you, I can't quite kick and boost at the same time without gravity taking over, but I will get there. My least favorite are leg swings (4 Fast Miles, during a couple of the boosts) and double side steps :noway: . My favorite are the kickbacks because they help stretch me out when I'm starting to get sore in the middle of a workout.

    Well, I did 4 Fast Miles (with the leg swings even) today. Almost didn't get to my group today cause work was hectic, but figured "they" have me for 8 hours, I can take 1 hour for me. Everyone lived through my lunch/absence and so I was proven right.

    Hello fellow walkers! I've been bad again today and didn't get in any walking, but I hope to make up for it this weekend. They are predicting more snow for North Georgia this Sunday. We haven't had snow this early for years and years. I like the snow but hope it doesn't turn to ice! I would sure hate to break my log in record because I have no power! :sad: But maybe my phone will still work so I can log in. They've already announced that my husband's work will be closed on Monday. I can't believe they are committing this far ahead.

    I found some good buys at a thrift store during my lunch hour today. They had all their clothes half price. I've really come to like thrift & consignment stores as I've lost weight. Clothes are too expensive to pay full price when you may not be wearing them very long. I got a carhartt denim shirt for 2 bucks and like new jeans for 2.50. And the real bargain was a very nice all-weather coat for 2.50. It's fun when you find a bargain. My project for tomorrow is to find a step-bench to use with my weights. I"m going to check out all the thrift stores in the area! Wish me luck!

    Last night I reported my miles at 12...that was wrong...I should have said 14 and I just finished another 2 so now I'm at a grand total of 16!!:bigsmile:

    Saturday Miles in 3 Fast Miles
    Monday~Miles in, 1 Power Walk, 2 Walk Strong, 1 freeform.
    Tuesday~ 2 miles Walk and Kick 1 mile Power Walk with weights, 1.50 miles freeform with weights.
    Wednesday~4 Fast Miles~1 mile freeform with 5lb weights..
    Thursday~3.25 miles~ 3lb weights
    2 miles 3lb weights
    Friday~3.25 miles with weights followed by weights
    Saturday~3 miles with weights long day at work-pooped!

    Got five miles in this morning as well. Added some stepboard moves during the more "boring moves" (side steps and up and back)... Have a great Sunday!

    Morning,

    Got in 1.5 mil on the elliptical machine. 136 calories burned is what my machine says. This site says about double the calories of my machine! Wonder why?

    Anyway some is better than none. My BD is coming up so maybe I'll ask for a Leslie Sansone DVD. Which one do you recommend to start out with?

    Wow you guys Im sorry I haven't posted since Tuesday. I have been getting my walks in though. Have had alot of headaches lately. Its annoying. I got 3 miles in yesterday and another 3 miles today.

    I can't believe how big this group has gotten! Its great. Welcome everyone!:flowerforyou:

    Cindy, My first WATP dvd was one called the 5 day slim down. It has a mile for each morning. Mile 1 is a classic walk, mile 2 is Sculpt your Arms, Mile 3 is Slim your legs, Mile 4 is Trim your Tummy and Mile 5 is a speed walk. I started out doing a mile a day then I started doing the Mile 1 and 1 of the other miles. Then I went up to 3 miles doing the Classic walk, one of the 2 through 4 miles and the 5 mile. I sometimes do the whole workout now if I want a really long one.

    There are lots of good dvd's out there that have multiple workouts too, like the 5 day fit walk. It has 5 different workouts, 2 that are 1 mile and 3 that are 2 miles. I think it kind of helps to have a little variety. That way you don't get bored with the same one over and over. I think I found both of these at Wal-mart or Best Buy.

    Hi Marie, I just joined that site and added you. But I guess I'm starting my journy in your home town LOL. It's beautiful!!! I was also seeing if I could enter where I'm from. Can't figure it out yet!. I asked Sabrina to look into it, she's better at things like that. Its getting late, but I'll check more into it tomorrow.

    My Saturday did not go as planned. My son had a car wreck but I am thankful there were no serious injuries.

    I did get in the 4 mile Punch up your Walk today. Then I spent the rest of the day getting ready for more snow and maybe ice. I got a lot of clothes washed and now I need to draw up some water in case we lose power. We have a well so if the power goes so does the water. :sad: I think that's harder than being without power. My husband got the portable DVD charged up, he just doesn't know that I"m going to use up the battery doing my workout if we lose power! :laugh: Shhhh! I hope I'm able to log in with my phone if we do lose power.

    They've already closed all the schools and my husband's work. I doubt I'll make it to work either if we do get the ice. Go ahead! All you snow folks can laugh at us southerners. :happy: But it's kind of nice getting a snow day now and then. Georgia doesnt have the snow equipment to deal with what they say is on the way.

    It looks like everyone is working hard on their goals. I meant to do some more weights today but I haven't yet. And I had no luck finding a step bench yesterday. Maybe next weekend.

    Sandra, thank heavens your son is all right. Enjoy your snow. We have had a little break from fresh snow, little one or two inch snow falls nothing major for a while.

    I did not walk today did a small amount of lower body resistance and that was it.
    I did get some much needed cleaning done and took some time to just be quiet. I needed that.

    hi! i'm just joining, and doing my walking right now with my horses in the training pen. have the first 2 walk away the pounds dvds on the way, so will start serious workout when they get here.

    sandy, i'm sorry for you in the snow! we've had such nice weather so far...but i just know it's gonna get colder and rainy! i know how you feel when the power goes, we also have a well! but i have car chargers for cell phones, and the laptop! we're good. :D

    I'm late in seeing your post and just started MFP a week ago. I love to walk and would like to join your group. My goal for January is 12 miles per week and 72 miles for the month. I hope to walk at least 2 miles a day, 6 days per week for now. This past week I walked 10 miles and played volleyball one evening. Mall walking and using the Lesie Sansone Brisk Walk DVD are my tools so far.

    Hi, all. I have been walking and doing really well until today. What a disaster it has been! Poor choices and WAY over on my calories. Thank goodness tomorrow is a new day.
    I will get to that site in the morning and add those of you who joined and also share my ID. I am on my phone now and it would take too long to do it from here.

    Morning everyone!

    Had a 2 lb loss at today's weigh in!

    I talked to my GF yesterday and she has a "Walk away the pounds" DVD she isn't using so I will borrow it from her to see if I like it before I go out and buy one. Glad I talked to her yesterday!.

    Sandy: have you started getting any snow or ice yet? I'm in NC and we are supposed to start getting precip sometime today. I haven't turned on the TV yet to listen to the lunatic weather prognosticators. Sometimes they act like precipitation is the biggest thing in the world! They remind me of "Chicken Little"!

    Did 90 minutes so far today 4 Fast Miles and the rest freeform with weights. Burned a buch of calories.
    I am going to count the other 40 minutes as 2 miles as I did a lot of weights mixed in.

    Cindy, way to go on the weight loss!!!! I am the same as last weeks weight in but I lost an inch off my waist. When oh when will my big behind get smaller??? Just asking????

    I've worked up to 2 miles on the treadmill today, 39 minutes.

    Welcome to the group JenB, it's never too late to join in and we're glad to have you with us. :happy:

    We've got 4 or 5 inches of snow here this morning and now it's doing a little of everything, sleet & snow all mixed. This is our second snowfall of the year. That's very unusual for this area. We usually only get a dusting or ice instead of snow.
