I have the P90x videos i was wondering is there a system as to which one you do first etc?? mine are not in any order? or am i being stupid?? you guys are making me want to try it now
    thanks

There's a classic cycle that most people follow first.

The first three weeks go like this.

    Chest & Back, Abs
    Plyo
    Shoulders & Arms, Abs
    Yoga
    Legs & Back, Abs
    Kenpo
    Stretch, Rest

    Week 4

    Yoga
    Core
    Kenpo
    Stretch
    Core
    Yoga
    Stretch, Rest

Then it goes into phase 2 which I haven't looked at yet.

Hi! My husband and I are starting today!.. My goal is to lose weight and tone up versus his is to gain weight/muscle. We are both doing the Classic and going to take it one day at a time! :)

I was just wondering, do all of you follow the nutrition guide or do you do what works for you?

    Have a great week!
  • Finished Chest/Back and ARX. Was killed by dive bombers, diamonds, and pushups in general. Goal 1: Improve, improve, improve! I don't have a pull up bar, so I'm using resistance bands and a door -- anyone else using this method?
  • I just finished day 3 of p90x. Please add me to your friendlist. I'd love to keep up with everyone and their progress!

You could get an iron gym for your door, they work really well and are sturdy. It holds me up fine and no damage to the door frame or anything and I'm 230+ pounds.

I started the second week today. I improved on most of the exercises, but got worse with the dive bombers. :ohwell:
  • I just began week 3. I'd love to have a female to relate to about the workouts as I am doing the workouts with my boyfriend.

I tried to get my boyfriend in on the p90x action, but he refuses to do workout videos. Maybe at the end of 90days he'll be a believer! lol Keep up the good work! 3weeks seems so far away!

LOL thanks! I started week 4 today, it seems a little less intense (which makes me think week 5 will be hell). P90X was my boyfriends idea, and he got me into it by making it a competition...that may be one way to get your boyfriend into it lol! Hope all is going well!

Yes Week 4 is the Recovery Week, so it backs off a little and gives your muscle a chance to heal. Get ready for Phase 2, because it's a whole new ball game. Good luck!

Hi all! I'm joining in here as I just started yesterday. I've gotta say my upper body strength has *no where* else to go but up! After 25 pushups on the first exercise, I was lucky to break 4 or 5 in the push ups after that and the pull-ups were even more dismal.

Gotta start somewhere tho :) I'll keep pushing play!
  • Day 2 done. Plyo is evil! I'll get better with time and effort, I'm sure, but today was a struggle to finish!

Today is plyo for me. Definitely the toughest one of this cycle, but it feels so great afterward. Not looking forward to Core Synergistics next week...lots of difficult moves, but good for the body!

Today is day 10 of P90x for me. I was really sore the first week (especially after Plyo), but kept it up, not as sore this week. Good job everyone.

I'm so glad to hear you're not as sore this week. I'm on day 4 and my body is screaming in protest, but I know it gets better now and am SO looking forward to it :)

Yoga tonight after dinner, I'm really excited for it despite the length of the DVD. Keep it up, everyone!

great job you all 4 lbs that great! Yoga is long but worth it just do your best forget the rest I think it was the hardest dvd so far not only to follow and understand the moves but the moves themself they really ask your muscle to do things they havent before Its great When i can do the dvd well from start to finish i will know Im strong :)
  • OK.. now after seeing all these posts, will get my p90X out.. did the abds/back once - will do the plyo tomorrow am!

After over a year I'm starting a second round Monday next week. I hate that I let myself lose all my results, but this time I have different goals (better ones actually). So, to all the first timers, stick with it and bring it everyday. Trust me when I say it never gets easy, but it always shows the results when you take the photos, even when you think nothing is happening to your body.
The success of P90X is not based on a myth but on the final results of those who complete the training and EAT properly, because the truth is, no matter how hard you workout, if you don't eat the right way, you won't get any results. So pleaseeeee, watch your diet, watch your form (is better to do less reps with good form than lots of reps with bad form), and ask, always ask when in doubt to those who have done it or are coaches.

I missed a day yesterday so it feels weird. Also I read through the nutrition guide and it seems I haven't been getting enough calories for the program so it might explain some of the headaches I've been getting later in the day. So I'm gonna start over and follow the nutrition properly.

Doing legs&back very soon...loving all of this strength training!

    p.s.
TOM is coming soon and I can definitely tell. =/ But on the bright side I'm going to Chicago with my boyfriend next weekend! Looking forward to it!
  • I would also suggest doing the Classic version. I have done it 3 times. The first 90 days I followed the diet plan to a T and lost 25 lbs and 4 inches on my waist. I went from 173 to 148 and 36 inch waist to 32. Im now about 140 and 30 inch waist. Ive done P90X+, and Insanity also. You guys should see if there are any Beachbody Fit Clubs in your area. We have one on Sundays In Pittsburgh and its great doing the workouts with other folks!
