    Howdy Gals,

You are AWESOME Shawna. Your workout routine would tire...hum, any Olympic medalist! Wish I had your energy.

Wii's are fun Nita. I'm with you on the outside walking. I walk to work everyday...two blocks. Not a real workout...just a cheap commute!

I'll be pretty much MIA through the long weekend. DH and I are getting away to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Yup, 35 years with the same man...best 15 years of my life... Honestly, I'm a lucky gal...and HE'S a VERY lucky fella! I'll have my phone, so I'll TRY to log my foods...but don't count on me being pristine!

    Happy Losing gals...Vicki...Ü

Can't sleep this sucks! I've been up since 3am. No weight loss this week. I have a busy weekend planned too. I have a date night with my grand daughter tonight. Seeing a movie. A Justin Beiber movie!! Then she is spending the night with me. Saturday I will take her home and drive 45 miles to my mom and dads in Olympia to go to church with my mom on Sunday. She is singing this Sunday and I am going to watch her. We're going to go pant shopping for me while I am there. I didn't tell her I am losing weight. I just told her I needed new work pants. Supposed to be pretty tomorrow so hopefully I will get a walk in at my moms.

Have a great weekend everyone. So many MIA lately. Even Cyndi is and she needs to start us a new thread soon.

ok where did everyone go? Did the Lord come and take home all my MFP friends and leave me here????? Come out come out where ever you are!!

I had a great weekend. I went to my mom's Saturday and Sunday and we went shopping and I got some new pants for work. I also found two dresses that look so nice. I got one dress in a size 18 and one in a size 16!! My pants are all 18's. I am so exited to be back in the teens! So much better than a 24!

Have a great losing week all you losers! LOL

Ooops, sorry, had the caps lock on! Hehehehehe.

Sounds like you had a pretty good time with your Mom, Deb. I'm very happy to hear that. And shopping for new (and smaller) clothes makes it even better! How was her song at church? I laughed reading your FB post about catching Bieber Fever. I'm going to have to wait until it's released to NetFlix. He seems to be a pretty cute entertainer, and I don't have anyone to "escort" me to these movies...besides, the nearest theater is 40 miles away.

AWESOME Nita!!!!! 4.6 pounds....not THAT should motivate!

I had a great time over our long weekend. Met up with good friends, Ate some REALLY good food (what wasn't good I didn't eat too much), really low on water, and dragged DH for a walk around town one day. It was a beautiful weekend, but a bit chilly, too. Our room was very very nice...gorgeous view and a mood enhancing fireplace... We stayed at Campbell's Resort on Lake Chelan. I'd recommend it to anyone...especially Lodge 1 - 4th floor.

Soooooo, Tuesday will be my Monday, and restart my program. Looking forward to eating good again, AND playing on my Wii.

    Happy Losing...Vicki....*Ü*

    Howdy...me

It was a rough start, but I muddled my way though it and finished a winner! Long day tomorrow, so my bag is going to be FULL of good eats and drinks...half of them already made and ready to load.

    Night night!

  • Way to plan ahead!! Sorry I have been vacant! My head has been in the clouds, that's for sure! Things are going well though. Hoping for a really great result this week, one can hope. Have a wonderful wednesday everyone!

    Howdy Gals,

So I got a call from my Mom tonight...they live in Anacortes and got EIGHT inches of the white stuff. WE, in the mountains got just enough to cover the dirty snow and ice patches. Scary walk home!

Cyndi...did you get a glimpse of that UFO the other night? Some type of lighted saucer was seen over the Vancouver area a couple of days ago. I hope your still on plan even though we're not seeing much of you.

And what, pray tell, is your head in the clouds about, young lady! I see you've been hitting the gym and working hard on your program. I feel GOOD results coming your way!

So, I've made a HUGE decision. I was watching Dr. Oz yesterday (or the day before) and he showed us a diseased liver. It was prompted by a video question about the, "glass of wine I have every evening that sometimes turns into two or three". I like my Scotch once in a while, but WILL have my wine, and like the video lady, will have more than just one most days. SO, ALL booze is stricken from my diet! I won't say never, but definitely NOT on a daily basis. It's going to be hard, as I enjoyed having a glass after work before starting dinner and visit with DH about our day. I'll have to work on finding a tasty low calorie substitute. Not only will it help my liver, but my waistline too!

Time to make my lunch. Tasty avocado veggie wrap with cottage cheese and sliced tomato salad.

    Happy Losing...Vicki...*Ü*
  • Vicki! I am very proud of you. You are definitely determined and that is powerful! Enjoy one now and then, maybe a friday night thing. But you are right too much is hard on you. Alcohol is a form of sugar that the body could definitely do without.
As for my head in the clouds..well me and my honey are not married yet and there has been a lot of talk about it. He mentioned making a list of potential venues and making a rough draft list.... I don't want anything huge, I am not the dream wedding type..but I can't wait to marry my other half. ;) , anyhow...that's my update...other than stickin to it pretty well this week...hopefully it pays off :)
your lunchsounds creative! Always great to have yummy things!! :)
Night all i am exhausted! Maybe I will get lucky and get a snow day tomorrow! Right!

    Howdy Gal(s),

Thanks for the kudos, Shawna. It wasn't a "tough" decision to quite the booze...but I'm not taking it lightly, either. I've not really tested how deep my addiction is...however, no DT's...Ü

Wedding bells, huh? How wonderful!!!!!! I LOVE being married. It's wonderful to have a partner who loves you enough to commit to a lifetime. We sorta eloped...to Hawaii. The vacation was already planned, and then thought it would be a nice place to get married. IT WAS! Yours will be just as nice. I may even tip a glass on your special day.

Good eats day...VERY sore from Yoga yesterday, so spent the morning stretching. Even my triceps hurt! Cool! Maybe when I wave my upper arms won't join in on the fun!

I need to hunt down Deb on Facebook! Haven't seen Blue and Kelly, either, but Cyndi has claimed to be busy on her wall.

Time for me to get ready for bed....eeewww tomorrow is check-in. I think my weekend is going to show on the scale fer sure!

    Happy Losing...Vicki...*Ü*

Did my weigh in today i;ve lost a lbs which is great but i've gone up a centimetre on my waist and hips. I didn't measure my bust but my bra feels tighter too. Lost centimetre off my neck though *rofl* I'm hoping it's water weight as it's my tom but getting a bit miffed nothing's coming from my waist.

13lbs now and no difference no loose clothing. It's depressing.

Vicki..i know how you feel about the alcohol. I never drank every day but would polish off a couple of bottles on a weekend, which is probably worse than a glass or 2 daily. Dont; they call it binge drinking. I'm only drinking a bottle a month now, over 2 nights. I do love wine.

    sw 301 lbs now 298lbs

It'll come. If this is your first big weight loss and the first time doing it slowly, your body may actually be pulling fat from under muscle and around organs -this is a good thing. Keep at it your body is still saying THANK you! You are doing great!!!! some people take 20-25lb in the first loss to lose a pant size so don't fret! You are doing very well!

When I was 249... don't think I lot a size till 225ish then it was 10-15 lbs each size from there. Now I am in between sizes and it sucks! haha
    Keep at it!

I'm here guys sorry. I look and it didn't seem like any one was posting so I didn't come read anything. Then the last 3 nights I've been tired. I've just gotten on facebook and played my games then went to bed early or fell asleep on the couch.

Mike started calling me again on Monday. He is just so messing with my heart. Part of me wants to keep talking with him and other parts want him to just go away.

I have been walking on both my breaks at work even though it's been cold and snowing. I've walked home from work 2 days this week also since I didn't want to drive to work in the snow. I haven't finished logging my food every day though. I start but not finish. I've been so tired.

Glad to hear you are all losing. I've not lost anymore. But I am maintaining which is nice.

    Have a great weekend

Deb- sorry to hear Mike is messing with your life. It's selfish, men can be so clueless sometimes. I got a classic Valentines Day call last week, so I feel your pain, I hope you're finding the strength to get through. It's really easy to say "forget him and move on" but it's alot harder to do. You are always in my thoughts

    love love love

Thanks Emma. This is all so hard on me. Mike choose to try to work on his marriage. He says he has not moved back home and that it won't work, but he hasn't filed for divorce either. He had just separated when we started dating. I then found out from a friend of his and his daughter that he was going to counseling with his wife and to a marriage seminar at his church with her. The whole time he is working on his marriage he is seeing me and telling me he loves me and wants to marry me once his divorce is final. I don't get it at all. I WILL NOT see him again until he has divorce papers in hand. But after all the game playing I am not sure I can trust him at all.

Sorry you got your call last week. Hope it isn't messing with you like it is messing with me.

I will keep you in my prayers too. Hugs to you!

    Howdy Gals,

Happy Saturday!!!!!! I didn't post last night, too tired. I don't think I even turned on the 'puter! I do know I fell a sleep in my recliner and woke up at midnight cold and shivering and crawled to bed. SO happy I thought to turn on the heated mattress pad earlier...ooooo so toasty! Even DH's cold rough feet didn't bother me...

I gained only ½ pound after our "honeymoon" weekend. Or, I should say that's what measured yesterday. I think I was really up 3 pounds on Monday, but the extra effort of eating on track, no booze and exercise reduced the damage pretty quickly.

Yea Emma, and SHAWNA...my "feeling" was right, huh? Good job gals.

Welcome back Deb. I missed you! I know your heart is breaking and wish I could be there to give you a HUGE hug.

I started out pretty good today, but my sweet tooth kicked in, and my head has been in the freezer pulling out every truffle, candy bar and popsicle I buried in there for..."safe keeping". Well, it's not as bad as it sounds, but I did some damage. Now I'm almost sick to my stomach. I hope I remember that at the next attack. Argh! I wasn't going to post my foods today because of it, but I think I will...if I can fine the culprits in the foods list.

    I'll check back later tonight.

    Happy Losing.....Vicki...*Ü*

Well, Howdy yourself Lulu! I hope we see more of you while you become less of you  We have the same goal, although you're a bit ahead of me at the start gate.

My candy binge wasn't as bad as I thought, calories wise. I had never heard of a Zero candy bar...something I picked up at the checkout stand a week or two ago and threw in the freezer. It wasn't that good...too sweet (never though I'd say THAT) and tossed ½ in the garbage (never thought I'd DO that). But the big surprise was finding it on MFP!

Did a little sewing today, and shopping for a lap top. I'm tired of being tethered to this desk top when I want to connect with you, my FB friends, and QVC among other "chores" I have to compute...like pay bills :grumble:

Off to bed, got my mattress pad warmer turned on...it's a balmy 8° right now (11 pm) but no snow...yet. See ya'll tomorrow

    Happy Losing...Vicki...*Ü*

    hello everyone!
I hope you are all having a good weekend. I have opted not to log any of my food today. It is the oscars and if people can make it to my house through all the snow that fell on Vancouver last night, we always have a big oscar party. It's not something I feel like giving up. So taking alittle break, but will be back in full capacity on monday!

I'm baaaaack! For those of you I've yet to meet, I'm Lulu, 50 yo, live in New Orleans, married 26 years, two kids - a beautiful daughter, 25, who got married in October and lives about 40 minutes away; and a son, 21, who is a singer/musician/student/part-time restaurant worker. I work full time, have two dogs, a cat, and I am overweight. That about sums it up for now.

I have been away from MFP for about a year. I had lost 25 pounds, then completely plateaued - and then started gaining again. After several months of gaining - while maintaining my calorie and exercise goals - I pretty much gave up. I recently went to the doc for my big 50-year check up and overhaul and discoverd that thyroid had gone kapuut! I have been on synthroid for 6 weeks and I am seeing a HUGE and AMAZING difference in my body. I won't go into it, but suffice it to say that I no longer feel doomed or stuck or hopeless. Yay!

I know a lot of the teamies here from before and I look forward to getting to know the rest of you!!

Bottoms up girls!! Drink drink drink the water this week, move yer booties, and eat well. It's gonna be a GREAT week!

i'll try to post more often.

Blue Yippee nice to see you back. I am sorry you are having struggles. You've come too far to let it go. You have to do this for you!! MAKE time in your busy schedule to do this. You can log your food in the morning...take a couple of minutes then make sure you eat what you've logged for the day. If you can manage to post here twice a week that would be cool. Come on try for yourself...try for me!! I've missed you!

Lulu that thyroid is a bugger. I've been on thyroid meds for about 6 months myself. I didn't think it made much of a difference but I take it anyway. I had developed a sensation of a lump in my throat when I swallowed and it would make me gag. The thyroid meds stopped that sensation and that made me happy enough to keep taking it. I started losing when I started dating a man and he started stressing me out. I lost 8lbs from the stress then decided to keep going and signed back on to MFP Jan 1st. Ive lost 22 since Thanksgiving and a total of 40lb from when I started MFP in 2009. I've lost several clothes size...gone from a 24 to a 18. I'm excited and having fun this time around. It's good to see you again.

The gals here are great. Vicki is a great gal and I am sure you will love her. Emma is a sweatheart. Look forward to your posts.

Thanks for the reminder about drinking water. I need to do that more. I walk 30 minutes a day now on week days at work. If the price of gas goes up too much higher I will be walking to work and that will give me another 40 minutes a day. Have a gret week everyone!!

    Deb
