  • Good morning everyone!! I am up but I too am disappointed with my scale. I am up 2 pounds as of this morning. I did have a day (Thursday) when I went over on my calories and just ate whatever I wanted, but I have been over on my sodium pretty much every day this week. :grumble: :explode: That stuff is evil. I have been walking and busting my butt so I don't know if it's muscle. I will not worry about it though I am still working on it. So, I will not let it get me down. I think I am going to take my measurements in a bit and see if I have lost inches. I feel like I have.

VT- Yes, I have been changing my weight as I lose it in my HRM. Thanks for the reminder though. Who knows I could forget.

Arf- good luck with your son being your coach.

Chris- I am also up 2 pounds so I know what you mean when you say it's frustrating. Be patient and just keep at it and it will come off. (I am also taking to myself here as well).

Alright I think I got everyone, if not I didn't miss anyone intentionally. I am debating over whether to exercise or not. I will probably strap on my HRM and get busy doing something. I will be back later.
  • Morning heeters! Sorry to hear about the weight gain ladies, just keep it up, you can do it. I have almost reached my first mini goal, and at a steady pace I think. I have about a week to loose 1 lb. to meet it.

Thanks for the compliments on the pic! I feel prettier already! (just from the comments here)

So I guess it will be a min before I get a monitor, but thanks for the info. Just don't hace $100+ to spend rite now. But maybie this summer when it warms up and i start doing more outside workouts.

O and "due to conditions out of our control your package will be delayed till monday" Is what ups said ! I paid for overnight shipping!!! I wnt my game!!!  Okay I feel better now I had to rant to someone!

Oh, I would like that to pay for overnight shipping and you are not getting it till Monday. I don't blame you I would want my game too.
  • I took my measurements and I am pretty pleased with what I have lost in inches:

I have lost 1 inch off my waist, 1 inch off my hips, 7 inches off my chest (YAY for that one, I hate them and I wouldn't care if my chest was flat.). I am so happy, the heck with the stupid scale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright now off to exercise, see everyone later.
  • R2l great loss. Inches are so important, forget the scale is right!
I slept passed 7 thus morning, aaaaahhh!
I am off to phoenix now and looking forward to my walk later!
Had an awesome breakfast and am the least itchy I've been in 2 weeks, so th!ts good.
Have a great Saturday everyone! R2l

Well I wrote that about an hour 1/2 ago, hit post a couple times but it didn't go. In phoenix now, horrible traffic but we made it. Nice day for my walk.

I'll see if this will post this time... (love my Android, but sometimes this site and a few other are very slow and sluggish)
  • I'm being a naughty HEETer today. The sun finally poked out and burned off the fog and dreariness so I headed straight to the garden to take care of the Collard Greens. 4 1/2 hours later and 6 Pounds of stemmed and double washed Collards, I grabbed a beer and called it a day. Do you know how many Greens it takes to make 6#'s?? A LOT!! Went back out to the garden to putz around and pull a few weeds. I haven't eaten much today and haven't logged a single thing. I'm also not in the mood to cook so looks like it's gonna be a toss up tonight. Guess I'm taking the day off. :ohwell: Pics of my Day's Work in my blog if anybody wants to check it out.

Still haven't caught up yet on who's doing what today but I will! Promise!

Hope you all are having a "Healthier" day than I am!!

I can only imagine what the neighbors are saying; I went outside to shovel, we have a person that comes and plows, so I was just taking care of the stairs and right in front of the garage. I was at a loss as to where to put all the snow. I resorted to walking across the DW and putting it on top of bushes. (There is a lot of snow here.) Some of it even went out back in the pool area. The guy next door comes out with his snow blower. "I'm like yeah rub it in man. You have your toy." Then I come in go upstairs and use my treadmill. I come down and the plow guy is there, rearranging all the snow in my driveway with his little mini excavator. I wonder if the guy next door thinks I got frustrated and called him to come do that. (Hmmmm)

Any how got my extra execise in and now I am going out with my DH to friends for dinner.

Hope you all have a great day .
  • Good Evening HEETers!

I think I'm all caught up...

Arf - take care of that hip! And remember, All's Fair in Love and OCD! What's good for you is good for the kids! Wish I could console you better on the scale dilemma. Seems I'm having a battle of my own!:explode:

Reiki - Sounds like you had a nice, full day planned. I hope you enjoyed yourself and all the good food your friend prepared!

Phly - I'm still Loving the new photo! I even went to your profile to get a better view. I like it so much better than your original pic. You look a Whole Lot Happier!! Save up your pennies and get an HRM. It will make your workouts really pay off!

R2L - I put up some new (older) pics in my profile. You can see my hair-do. It's impossible for me to have "A" bad hair day. EVERDAY is a bad hair day for me...but it works for me!! Congrats on the inches lost...believe it or not, they really are the most important. But I can totally sympathize with the increasing scale.:explode:

Christy - Glad your "itchies" are going away and that you got in a nice walk today.

Plume - Good job on shoveling then tackling the treadmill. Who cares what the neighbor thinks. If you're on friendly terms, bring it up in casual conversation next time you see him, if not...Pfffffhhhhh...let it go!

    >>>>HEETers...Got to ask this question...I'm seeing a *different* change in my body and I'm not sure if it's good or bad. I'm kind of leaning towards good but I'm really not sure. My body make-up is such that I am pretty much proportioned with my fat distribution. I do have a large belly but it's fairly solid, meaning, I really don't have "rolls" (if anything, it's my butt that rolls over the back of my thighs :ohwell: ) I do have a seperation between Upper and Lower belly but, like I said, it's not really a "roll" and never has been, it's just there and pretty solid all around, especially when I'm standing. I know my scale is on the uptick this week but today I went potty. My Upper Belly is starting to disappear but today I noticed my Lower Belly kind of, for lack of a better word "gushed" out. It was all loose and jiggly. I sat there looking at it, pinching it and wondering, "What the heck is this?!"

I've mentioned before that I feel stronger in my "core" now that I'm walking so much. I'm wondering if I'm building a hidden wall of muscle behind that fat and the fat has no where to go but to "gush" out when I sit. Does that make sense? Does anybody have anything enlightening to add to this new body phenomenon I'm experiencing...or am I getting FATTER again?!:noway:

LOL @ VT...I was looking in the mirror just yesterday and realized my top fat roll under my boobs had disappeared, but the 2nd fat roll just keeps sliding down a little more each day! LOL But, I can feel the ab muscles underneath the fat rolls so I guess its ok! My husband says my behind looks firmer...but I just think he's crazy ! LOL My best news of the week...bought a new bra and I've lost a cup size! Woo Hoo!

On a heavier note, I really need all you to pray for my husband and I today. We got some terrible news last night. My husbands employee (who's like a daughter to us, and isonly about 2 years older than our daughter) was hit by her boyfriend. She's 7 months pregnant. Her mother called us late last night and we are all very upset. This isn't the first time, but it is the first time since she's been pregnant. We had already planned on spending the day with her before this happen. We wanted to make sure she has everything she needs, so instead of a random baby shower gift we are giving her a day of shopping and lunch to pick up the things she didn't get at the shower. Well it will still be all that, but it will also be a try to knock sense into her day! Please all pray that we can finally get through to her today and that we and her real parents don't have to worry about her and her babys safety everyday. Thank you
  • Prayers inbound Arf. You know, maybe you should take the girl out shopping and let DHs and the girls father, well, let's say...take the boy out for the day...maybe down a long dirt road or perhaps behind the wood shed, if you know what I mean. I'm sure he can be convinced that maybe accepting that job is Alaska really is a good idea.
  • Good Morning everyone!! I am taking a couple of days off from logging food: today and tomorrow but right back to it Tuesday. I will not go crazy though. I will also be taking Friday off as well b/c we are getting our taxes back then we are going to eat at my favorite chinese resturant, then to get my treadmill and new exercise bike. I am going grocery shopping tomorrow and I am looking forward to that. I can't wait. I found a recipe that I want to cook. So, I will be buying the ingredients for that.

VT- I saw your pics on your profile. You are so pretty. I love your hair.

Arf- I am so sorry to hear about your husband's employee being hit by her boyfriend. I will be praying for her and for to realize that she needs to get out of that relationship.

Arf_ will be praying that God gives you the right words and opens her heart to hear them. You are truly a blessing in her life.

R2L congrats on the tax returns and your new treadmill. Oh! the places you will go in one place. Hahahahah.

VT yeah I feel ya on the belly jelly. My lower stomach is like a mushy pot of jiggly stuff. I am hoping it is just liquifying so it can just come out easier when I'm not looking. I have noticed I have lost a lot of my back fat. Not really where I wanted to lose first, but at least I notice a change.

I hope you all have a great day.
BTW I went to a freind house for dinner last night she did it buffet style so no one noticed, what I ate or didn't. I filled my plate with salad. Had 3 tiny shrimp, one tiny meat ball and 3 cheese ravioli and a bunch of fruit salad. When I logged it I had done very well. I got home and was starving (go figure.) Maybe went to light. Anyway I made a small salad and at the end of the day was still under calories by 11. That means I can keep my record going of not going over on my calories since I started.

I don't know why that is such a big deal to me. I just want to see how long I can keep doing that.

good job Plume!! You are doing so awesome!!
  • Good morning all! Busy day today, almost misses breakfast but had a quick English muffin and peanut butter, off for groceries now.
  • Arf prayers here sending them your way:angry: I agree with veggie! I used to be in the same situation, It never ends well. It's hard to say "Okay I have had enough!" But when she does please make sure that there is somebody there for her. It's hard to admit your wrong.

Not logging today, but i did et my couch to 5 k in today. Still no zumba:cry:

VT on the jelly belly, I have 1 too. Maybie it's not growing, but your "upper belly" got smaller, so you can see the lower better? Let me know, so I can know what to expect!

    Have a great day everyone!

Ya'll are all so awesome! Thanks so much! We had a harsh conversation over lunch. We were matter of fact and calm while we told her the brutal truth. She took it amazingly well. She says she's getting a restraining order on Monday against him and not letting him come back to her house. Then we got a look at the baby stuff she has and realized it wasn't much of anything. So, our shopping trip was a bit more than I planned, but got her alot of things that no one thinks about until you need it at midnight when the baby is screaming! LOL She needs alot more, so we are going to get together again next week. Which means we'll have another chance to talk sense into her!

We made sure that she knows we love her and that she can call us anytime of the day or night if she doesn't feel safe, no matter what she needs we will be there for her. I looked at my husband on the way home and said i know we spent more than you wanted today..but you realize this is our first grandkid right? My husband laughed and said yup we've got another dumb kid to straighten out don't we? LOL We'll just make this a weekly event until she's ready for him...

Actually, usually my husband is a spaz about money but this time he was cool with it so that was good.

Oh yeah and eating olive garden after running= puking so that was awesome.

    Ya'll have an awesome day!
  • Ok, finally got caught up reading here.
Arf, definitely sending prayers, agree with VT approach, but also know convincing the girl us the only way out of such awful situations. Hope she can see that she does not deserve to be treated that way, otherwise too often Ahole #1 us just replaced with Ahole #2. Very sad situation! Maybe the mother instinct will kick in and she'll protect the child!

VT, the lower belly is said to be the last place we loose fat, especially once that 40th bday has come and gone, mine unfortunately looks worse now that I've gone from a big round belly to a lower belly that sort of hangs, its really gross and I can only pray that I can loose it eventually. I do Jillian Michaels no more trouble zone Dvd and she says "you can't spot train fat, you gave to burn calories to loosed it, you can only tone the muscles underneath" so I keep doing my an exercises and hope for the best. I am worries about loose skin too.

The sun is out here, good thing since my dryer is on the fritz, I have my laundry out on the line.

Plume, that is an awesome achievement staying under goal! Hope you keep up your streak.

Haven't eaten enough today, going to have a turkey meatballs sandwich. Liked at the weeds around my garden, but dis nothing about them, lol, feeling better but have that groggy drugged feeling still.

Going to try a new bread machine recipe for sandwich breast for my hubby and also making banana zucchini carrot raisin nut etc muffins. Oh, and I've been wanting to but almond butter and finally got some today, so I'm excitedvfor that high protein snack item.

Have a great rest of the day, and butterfly enjoy not logging, I've gotten so used to it, not sure how ill do taking a day off, but not planning to till end of March.

  • Just checking back in b4 phone is off for the night. Read my last posts and had to laugh at the typos and my dumb smart phone making up words for me, breast for bread being the funniest, hope you could make sense of it.

    Next weeks goals:
    continue to stay under calories.
Eat before 5am workout, then every few hours through the day.
5 workouts - at least 3 one hour long (no more whimping out, no excuses)
Plus 4 mile walk next Saturday
    Good night!
  • Happy Monday! Have a great day!
Managed 1/2 banana and 1T of almond butter before workout.
Worked hardest I've worked in a while.
  • Good morning all!

Cristy - Wow and great job! Your goals are impressive! And 5 a.m. workout???? My clock doesn't have a 5 a.m. :)

Arf - Sending my prayers. She is lucky to have you.

Plume - Great job on your perfect record! Keep it up!

I have a busy, busy day, so may not be able to fit much fitness in. Maybe later this afternoon if all goes well. I added oatmeal to my diet, something I hadn't had in ages. It was really good and filled me up, so yeah!!! I am also replacing the feta in my salad today with almonds to help keep me satisfied throughout my busy day. Tonight we are having Mahi Mahi.

I lost the two pounds that I had gained last week, so I am happy and back on track. I am editing my weight loss goal by 5 more pounds. My new target weight will be 160. Wish me luck! Better yet, wish me will power!

Just making a quick drive-by post to say hello to everyone and let you all know I'm alive. :)

Arf, I pray that your employee(?) sees the light. Abuse is a real head-*kitten* and it's very tough to get out of it. She can say she's going to file that restraining order but then never finds the time to do it and before you know it the boyfriend's back. I've seen it firsthand with an old friend. It's tough but at least she has you and your hubby.

It's getting a little difficult for me to keep up around here lately because it's been busy at work and at home and school has started back up for me but I am still here for everyone! Have a wonderful day!
  • morning heeters! OMG am I sore! I did the couch to 5 k again yesterday. My legs are fine it's rite below the girls that is sore! (tmi I know), anyone else have this issue? I feel like I was beat up! No zumba yet, so I guess I will be doing wii fit today. Everyonr have a wonderful day!

reikichris cograts on loosing the weight!
  • Hello everyone!! I am off today as far as tracking food but right back to it tomorrow. My hubby is down in his back and I have been having to do everything. I hope and pray that he feels better soon. It's hard on me and now my upper back is hurting. We went grocery shopping today and I did all the lifting, no wonder my back is killing me. Anyways, just checking in.
  • Butrplhy, I am not familiar with couch to 5K, I'm thinking it is walking? I think I know the muscles you are talking about... could be from strecthing or long strides with arms. Drink lots of water and stretch gently!! Hope that Zumba hurries up to you!! Enjoy your Wii workout in the meantime!!

cljay - good luck fitting in healthy eating and exercise with that schedule! Phew!!

Chris, great job taking the weight back off!! And thanks, it's not really that impressive... It's just me and my hubby now and it just works best for us to keep an early schedule year round, it gets even earlier in the summer, but it's all relative... I go to bed early and I do NOTHING (really, lucky if I set the table and fold a batch of laundry, let alone think about doing anything physical!) after work. I'd die if you tried to keep me up past 10pm!! LOL! -- your breakfast and dinner sound yummy! And way to go with your workout(s)!!

Arf, wow, now THAT’S getting up early! Hope your busy day goes smoothly!!

R2L, embrace the freedom with the little one going to school and pursue your education!! That would be awesome!! (I do know the feeling though, my oldest grandbaby just turned 8!! Seems like yesterday their mommy was a baby!!)

VT – LOL! I hate that about bills, laundry is the same way, there is always more!!  Have fun planning!

Today's workout was Jillian Michael's Burn Fat Boost Metabolism DVD and the back of my legs are already sore, that one always kicks my butt, I think it's the jump squats (and the 3080s and the mogels... all that jumping!!)

Breakfast today was greek yogurt with a cup of frozen berries and 1/3 cup slivered almonds stirred in. That’s becoming my twice a week breakfast theses days, Chris, oatmeal is another great one, anything filling in the morning helps a lot, I just don’t like that hungry-weak feeling – it makes me not want to workout as hard, while a hardy breakfast makes me glad I did!

Not sure about lunch yet, had to pinch some pennies at the grocery store this week, so I don’t have my favorite spring mix, but I did get a couple Iceburg lettuce bags and I know there are a few cherry tomatoes ready to eat out back. I bought fruit for snacks, but forgot to bring any… luckily a live a few minutes away from work, will have to run and grab some on break!

Yesterday was our food prep day and we made meat loaf and meatballs (turkey/pork), corned beef, and black bean soup. (yes, I say WE very loosely… my hubby does 90% of the cooking!! Of all that I formed the meatballs and set timers!! ) But I did make him carrot/zucchini fruit muffins for his lunches. Did not get the bread made. I recently bought a bread machine and am still looking for a good sandwich bread recipe and then looking to make something low-carb/calorie for me that does not taste like cardboard… any tips in that area always appreciated! We also have Tuna steaks, turkey burgers and some leftover spaghetti sauce, so we are pretty set for healthy dinners.

VT, I took a look at your blog – great recipes, photos and your garden is beautiful!!

Sorry to be so long winded… you can tell when I’m on a computer and not my phone, huh??

Hope you are all having a great day!!
  • Cristy yes couch 2 5 k is program to get you from being a couch potatoe to running a 5k in 9 weeks. They start you off walking 90 seconds, running, (or jogging)for 60secs. and then as the weeks go on it progresses.

Thank you Cristy. It's hard though to think that my baby will be going to school if he is excepted to the Pre-K program. My dream is to have a Tubal Reversal when I reach my goal weight so I can have another baby, I don't know though b/c I am still seeking God's will and praying about that. I still want to go to school and become a Medical Transcriptionist, still praying about that as well.

Cool, thanks! Kinda figured that (the name is kinda obvious I guess). sounds like a cool program, how long have you been doing it?

Maybe it will work out that you'll do both (in time), you'll find the right way, I'm sure!!
