Cool, thanks! Kinda figured that (the name is kinda obvious I guess). sounds like a cool program, how long have you been doing it?
This was my second run, so not even a week0 -
Way to go Buterphly...I did my first C25k workout on Sunday and i couldnt run for 90 seconds. I guess im in worse shape than a couch potato. Oh well I am sticking with it it will just take me longer than 9 weeks. So I am walking for 30 min on days I don't do bootcamp until I can get better at it.
Thanks again to everyone for all the well wishes for our friend. I had a nice talk with her mom and for the moment she is safe which is the most important thing! Hopefully we can keep her that way!
Been a long day here I'm turning in for the night!0 -
My zumba came in today and kicked my butt tonight! In a good way tho! Night all I am soooo ready forbed!0

Mystery solved, so I guess that's good. As I had finished steroid pack on Saturday and was feeling almost normal, today the rash came back with an Itchy vengeance and dorms a perfect Christmas tree shape on my back. This is one of the things the doc thougght it could be and was treating for but some of the symptoms were a little off. Funny how it came back so very textbook on the second round.
I will call the doc tomorrow and I suppose another round of meds, the link says it last 6-8 weeks. If It weren't for the itch, Id let it urn its course, but i really can't stand myself and the creams and lotions only provide temp relief at best.
10:40 pm, I just covered myself in calamine lotion. Refuse to take Benedryl, can't take the hangover, but I must try to sleep.0 -

Came back and got Jacob and myself some breakfast, got the clothes put in the dryer, now I am sitting here resting for a little while. I am back to tracking my food for today, Wednesday, and Thursday, then Friday we are going to my favorite resturant and then I am getting my treadmill and exercise bike!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Cristy- I am so sorry to hear that the rash is back. I hope you were able to get some relief so you could sleep. I pray and hope it will go away soon.

Morning all! I have a question, and I apologize if it is too personal. I wanted to know how many pounds per week you have set to lose in the "Goals" section of MFP.
I had set it at 2 pounds per week and am not sure if this is a healthy goal or if I need to back it down.
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!0 -

I don't know how much it is set to lose b/c I set my calorie goal to go along with what my doctor has recommended for me. I think it's something like 1.9 pounds or something like that.0 -

I have mine on 2 per week, but with that said i have it set to lightly active. I had it set to sed. and was not loosing, but mabie 1/2lb. per couple weeks. So I reset everything (including my start weight) in the beggining of Jan. I have lost almost 10lbs. Hope this helps.:flowerforyou:

I think mine is 1.8 pounds, that how it came out when I set it, I have a desk job so I am set at sedentary.0 -
Thank you so much for sharing! I appreciate it.0

Checking in on diet and exercise, I did 30 minutes this morning – JM 30 day shred level 3, which is very challenging even though it is short, 30 minutes total, about 300 calorie burn
Ate a few bites of meatloaf before workout while making hubby’s lunch. (I know this sounds like an odd goal… but it’s a metabolism thing, and I’m one of those don’t eat all morning and then eat too much in the afternoon evening kind of people, so I’m trying to change that)
Ate Rice Chex after workout, then boiled egg and fruit, just had some nuts, so yeah, eating plenty and healthy food, but time to put the brakes on.
Itchy, itchy, itchy waiting for Dr to call back!!
Have a great day everyone!!0 -

Wow, you ARE busy!! Awesome you are getting a treadmill and a bike!! that'll be great!!
As far as logging... wonder why you don't go ahead and log even though you are going out... even if you have to estimate... I find it helps to keep track of everything and even on Christmas and Thanksgiving, I had what I wanted, but I also tracked it... maybe that's just me, but it keeps things in perspective for me and helps when I look back and identify trends (sodium, carbs, weight ups and downs etc.) and see what works best and what hurts the most....0 -

Thanks Cristy. I would have to estimate a lot if I log the food that I am eating. We are going to a buffet chinese resturant. I think it would be very hard to log that. I might try anyways to log it.0 -
Wow we have a busy bunch today! I have logged my food for the day and logged the zumba I am fizing to do to get an estimate. I am so happy he (my dh) bought me this monthh and not last. I am not sure if the belt would have fit.
It is qute a workout! And loads of fun! I went shopping yesterday, just for me! I never do this because I always get depressed trying on clothes. I tried on the next size down jeans(20) and though they did not fit, I could get them on, and only have about another inch before they will fit nicely! So I will be going back when that next inch comes off! I know size 20 is not a ideal size, but it is my next goal, and verry exciting for me. before my last baby, who is now 18months old I was in a size 26.
VT I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Time for me to go do laundry and work out. I will check back later! Have a great and healthy day everyone!
WE CAN DO THIS!0 -

Are you sure you are doing the right program? The 1st week of c25k is warm up for 5 min jog for 60 sec and walk for 90, repeat for 20 more minutes. Try that for the 1st week then do the 90 sec runs.0 -

Thanks R2L You are doing great yourself!0

Thanks R2L You are doing great yourself!
Thanks, I have a long way to but one day at a time is how I look at it.0 -
R2l and btrphly you are both doing awesome, we all are! Not only we CAN do this, we ARE doing this.
I succeeded in eating 4 (so far, one to go) meals today, I also upper my calorie goal from 1200 to 1400 after some research, Do not want to risk illness as these steroids already weaken my immune system. We'll see on Friday what the scale says, hoping to be under 200, but important to loose slow and stay healthy!
Tuna for dinner tonight.0 -
So I have a question for all the chocolate lovers out there, you got any good desert recipes you might like to share? :flowerforyou:
Figured I would throw this one out here, see if anyone has anything good, even if it just has a little chocolate.0 -
Still being a Naughty HEETer but thought I'd poke my nose in here...
Cristy...with such a low Calorie goal are you making sure to keep your NET CALS above 1200? It's the Net Cals shown on your home page after what you've eaten+burned off during exercise.
Does everybody understand this concept?
If your Net Cals are below 1200, the bare minimum for women, you could be going in to starvation mode, if you subscribe to that theory. Not everybody does, but I do. I noticed at the end of some days, where I had exercised, I was around 900 Net Cals.:noway: That's too low for me and the calorie philosophy I believe in so I always try to make sure I eat, at the bare minimum, 1200 Calories a day but in addition, most of my exercise calories because MFP has already calculated me at a reduced calorie level for a 1 pound per week loss whether I exercise or not. Does that make sense?0 -
Grrrr! this scale is tickin me off! Please tell me that if I am having this much trouble with the first tenpounds doing this rite that it gets easier. Come o lye to me people! This stupid scale goes up rite on the verge of my mini goal. I needed to loose 1/2 pound, now I havee gained almost two!:explode:  . Sorry this morning my mood may not be the best. My weight is up. The school called, no school because we are expecting 10-12 inches of snow! This means I am stuck inside for another week! O' and I am quitting smoking, so don't mind mee, I'll just slowly creep out the back door now while no one is looking....0

Phly, I know how you feel. I was up 2 pounds and I have still have that stupid 2 pounds hanging around, but I was naughty Monday and Tuesday, and Friday I am going to eat at my fav Chinese resturant, so I will not weigh for a couple of weeks. I hate the scales, I always have, they are evil!!!!!!! Oh, and I know about quiting smoking, it's hard but I know you can do it. I have been smoke free for 10 years and now just smelling cigarette smoke makes me sick to my stomach not to mention burns my eyes. I am sorry to hear about the snow. Maybe you should move to South Carolina  , they are only calling for one to two inches here for tonight into tomorrow morning. We hardly ever get any snow. Usually it's just too warm here. The last snow we got in January we got about 8 or 9 inches, that is the most snow we have seen in 23 years, I was 7 the last time we had gotten a "BIG" snow for S.C. and it was 12 inches. I hope you won't be snowed in for too long. We couldn't get out of our driveway for 2 days when we got the 8-9 inches b/c our driveway is a little hill. The Jeep and car would just spin so we couldn't get out. My hubby had to ride to work with my dad b/c they could get out of their driveway.0 -
Good Morning everyone! Another busy day today as always. I wish Friday would hurry up and get here so I can get my treadmill and my exercise bike. My hubby says I need to learn some patience, easy for him to say, he is skinny as a rail. He can eat and eat and not gain any weight. I can't, I just see and smell food and I gain weight. No, not really but it seems like it. My daughter gets out of school today at 12:30. They pick one day a month and they let them get out at 12:30. I don't know what for but all the schools here are doing it. I am hoping that our state income taxes are in the bank today but if not oh well maybe tomorrow. We will just have to wait and see.
VT, I hope you get back on here soon, I miss you.
Phly, I will have to look through my cookbooks and see if I can find you something chocolate for dessert. Sounds good, I might have to make something chocolate too.
Alright I will check back later.0 -
Phly, I feel for you. Quitting smoking is hard. I quit smoking in the spring of 2008. It was rough, but you can do it. Oh, I don't have any chocolate recipes, but I do love the Jello Mousse Temptations. 60 wonderful calories! Yum!
VT - I am glad you posted the information about calories. I have been concerned about this. I always eat at least 1200 calories per day, but I seldom eat 1200 net calories. I usually eat about half of my earned calories (putting me between 1,000-1,100 net). Thanks for the tip!
As for me, I had oatmeal and strawberries for breakfast. I will have the split pea soup I made last night for lunch. I think I will run and grab a rotisserie chicken for dinner (son has class tonight, so needs to be a quick dinner) and have it with baked potatoes and steamed brussels sprouts. I plan to work out after we return from the store, but I have to get ready for a meeting this afternoon, so we will see.
Have a great day everyone! And keep up the great work!0
