H20 Seventy Days of Shredding those EGGGstra pounds
Week 3 of 10

-Welcome, to those of you who would like to join the group, althought its already began, feel free to join in. Anyone is always welcomed. We are here to help with weight loss goals, talk, and turn to when you have your weakest moments. Our "H20" group has been going on since August 2010. I have a group of ladies that have been here all a long, I have some that check in every so often to see whats up in the "new" group of people. and i have some that are new to the challenge. So please feel free to join in..

I chose the broken pink egg, for this week for a reason. Sometimes we get lost in our daily lives, and we put our weight loss on the back burner. Don't allow your weight loss progress to be broken, like the pink egg. I understand sometimes its hard to fit your weight loss in with everyday life. (Work, Children, ect..) YOU deserve this. You NEED this, why else would you have joined for the support?

100 miles in 70 days, how are we doing on this challenge? Those of you who are actually doing it. (are you having a hard time getting your miles in, is this doable still?)

If you need a ticker to help you calculate go to tickerfactory.com make your ticker and copy and paste the the bbcode into your signature bar.

20 hours of stationary Boxing in 70 days, how are those of you doing with this?

CHALLENGE 1 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - EAT EVERY MEAL AT HOME THIS WEEK. I KNOW THIS ONE IS REALLY HARD, LIFE OFTEN GETS BUSY AND WE JUST PICK UP SOMETHING FAST ON THE WAY HOME. OR ON OUR LUNCH HOUR. INSTEAD TAKE A LITTLE EXTRA TIME TO MAKE YOUR LUNCH BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR WORK, OR MAKE DINNER. ITS ONLY SEVEN DAYS, YOU CAN DO THIS.

CHALLENGE 2 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - REATTEMPT, AN EXERCISE OR WORKOUT THAT YOUVE TRIED IN THE PAST THAT YOU HAVEN'T LIKED. GIVE IT A TRY ALL OVER AGAIN. DO THIS WORKOUT A TOTAL OF AN 60 MINUTES FOR THE WEEK. (OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING YOUVE RECENTLY TRIED, DO IT AGAIN)

CHALLENGE 3 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - WE ALL DESERVE A FEW MINUTES OF QUIET TIME. TAKE 10 MINUTES TOTAL THIS WEEK TO MEDITATE. REMEMBER TO PRACTICE YOUR BREATHING DURING THIS TIME. I FOUND THE BREATHING EXERCISE ON WII FIT VERY RELAXING, I TRY TO USE THAT TO HELP WITH MEDITATION. SIT IN A CORNER, OR ON THE EDGE OF THE BED, BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP.

CHALLENGE 4 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - FACE YOUR DEMONS THAT ARE HOLDING YOU BACK. MOST OF US ARE THE WAY WE ARE BECAUSE SOMEONE HAS MADE US THIS WAY. THIS IS A WEEK OF LETTING LOSE. SPRING IS COMING UP, SO WHY NOT WORK ON "SPRING CLEANING" YOUR INNER BEING. IF YOU NEED OUR HELP WE ARE ALL HERE.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK - "If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom." ~Terri Guillemets

I made a couple less challenges this week. I dont know how well you will like them. I was just trying to throw them together before bed. You may or may not like them. Hope you all have an amazing week. We got this!

Until next week - April Val

No worries, Misty. :) Yes, post your weight on your weigh-in day in this thread. Every week we start a new thread, so just keep track when we get our new week started, which is usually a Saturday or Sunday. We also have a weigh-in log going, which keeps track of your weights each week and your total lost. You can add yourself to that if you'd like. It's up to you if you want to be a part of that.
Here's the link to it: http://bit.ly/gc6Fqt

I'd like to join the challenge. 100 miles in 70 days; that seems very doable. According to my math it's like 1.5 miles per day for 70 days.

H20 Seventy Days of Shredding those EGGGstra pounds
    Week 3 of 10

100 miles in 70 days, how are we doing on this challenge? Those of you who are actually doing it. (are you having a hard time getting your miles in, is this doable still?)
** I am ahead in this.

20 hours of stationary Boxing in 70 days, how are those of you doing with this?
** Chose not to do this one.

** I don't eat out anymore. Well, almost never. I have learned that if I am meeting a friend or have a date... I look up menus beforehand so I can choose something that will fit into my food/eating plan to stay within my calorie limit. If I go a bit over, I know I have to work harder at the gym the next day!

** I am working with a personal trainer. She gives me a different circuit to work every week... so I have this covered.

** This will DEFINITELY be a challenge for me! Currently, my workout time at the gym is my "me" time. I will try doing this before going to bed every night.

** I think the only demon that holds me back is ME. I don't believe anyone else made me fat. I MADE ME FAT. I put the food in my mouth. I am responsible. Placing blame elsewhere hasn't worked for me... or anyone else I know. God gave me a body that worked perfectly, I messed it up. I have to fix it... and I am.

April, thank you so much for the time and thought you put into this every week! I really enjoy the challenges. YOU are wicked awesome!!

I have to go back to week 2 and see how I did with the challenges.

I just updated my weight in the spreadsheet and I'm a little confused. The formula is calculating weight through the entry on week 3 but I haven't missed a week and am only up to week 2. We should only have three weights inputted so far (starting week, week 2 and this thread), shouldn't we? Maybe we should take out the Week 1 column since really our starting weight is what we posted in the first week of this challenge. Thoughts?

Hi everyone! Checking in early Sunday morning...I will not be posting much this week...going to VEGAS baby! Celebrating my hubby's 50th. So...the eating at home...I can't start that til Fri! I will be doing plenty of walking. Also gonna check out the hotel gym. I will try and make good food choices...
Will miss all of you! Have a great week....work hard!

    Linda

BTW...current weight 207.2 a gain of 1.4. But, I did not do as much this week with exercising...too much work and preparation for vacation. Didn't always make the right food choices. Again, this weather sucks it right out of me. I hope there is sun in Vegas...this momma needs some Vitamin D!

Tagging in - weigh in tomorrow. Going on a hike today since the weather will be above freezing in the early afternoon. Hoping to get in another 5-8 miles (although, I'll have to convert it from KMs....from the signs on the hiking trails). That'll put me at 15-18 for the two weeks. It's supposed to be nice out all week (with the exception of the rain), so we're hoping to get the pups out for 60 minute walks most of the week.

Went to a party last night and was reasonably good - came under calories for the day, in any case

This sounds like just what I am looking for but unfortunately I will be out of town for a week due to dealing with a mother who ill and need to bring her to dr apt's and help care for her health care needs. I have been having to go back and forth quite a bit for this to. So needless to say it is not always do able to work out. :( Lets just hope I have a better March then February. I think the DR. apt I am bring mom to tomorrow will help determine that. Oh and if I i can stay healthy will help that to.

Love the pink egg I have total lost time for working out.

    Happy week 3 all!

Looks like this weeks weather will be a tad bit better so I plan on upping my miles some more.

    CHALLENGE 1 - WEEK 3
No promises on this one, but I will do what I can to make this one work. It may only be 7 days, but that's 21 meals in total.

    CHALLENGE 2 - WEEK 3
I'll have to think about this one. My friends just bought a Kinect and we're suppose to be going out there tonight, maybe we'll get a chance to play

    CHALLENGE 3 - WEEK 3
I have lots of quiet time, what I wouldn't give to have little ones running through the house making noise. Naturally, we always want what we can't have. I may do some crocheting this week, it's been a while since I've made anything.

This past week has been rough with my eating. To look at my diary, it may not seem so bad, but it was for me. I was surprised to see a small loss today, but not logging it on our log til tomorrow which is my actual weigh in day. Weighed in today for another challenge. Hoping March is much better than February. 3 funerals, teeth extractions, a laid off and sick hubby, it's been all around a crappy month. Hoping for a great March. :drinker:

    Happy sunday everyone!

"Sunday clears away the rust of the whole week." ~Joseph Addison

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. Enjoy a little bit of time with your loved ones, get some much needed cleaning done.. or just relax.. we deserve that every so often. I need to get around and take the bedding the the laundry mat. I finally have just about everything clean again.. thank goodness. Now to start on the spare bedroom when i get time, and to start on spring cleaning.. :)
  • I was down to 167.5 this morning! YAY! I won't be around this week and I won't be able to participate in the challenges. My "little" bro is getting married this week, so I will be out of town for his wedding.

Have a great week ladies!!!!! I'll be back next week!

Geez... cleaning...! Like I forgot I was the only one living here that COULD do it! HA! Okay... so it needs to be done. Someone call the cleaning fairy, PLEASE! Maybe I'll feel like doing it next weekend. Maybe I will just have someone do it for me. (I will have to pay them, of course.) Truth is, I have been going to the gym instead of cleaning. I like that better! At least I keep up with laundry and the kitchen! (but only because I HAVE TO!)

I shall be napping very soon, but I wanted to get my spot reserved here. :) SOOOOOOOO tired. Its been a real emotional week for me. LOTS of ups and downs. So Im going to nap in a bit and then get the rest of my cleaning done. AND do some C25K and attempt Shred for the first time. I LOVE Jilly. She is AWESOME. Im going to be real sad when shes gone next season. She has been by far the most motivating trainer on the show. I love Bob, but she is the one that is the tough love. And I dont know about you, but I need the kick in the pants. The reality check.

When we started, I was 173.5 (weighed in the same Sunday the first week was posted on the board). I went down four pounds and that's the weight I posted in the week 2 post. Now I'm down another half pound and I'm posting it in this thread. I've only had 3 weigh-ins as opposed to 4. I can easily just put the same weight for starting and week 1 so that I'm up to date though.

100 miles in 70 days… I’ve been getting in some good mileage in prep for my first 5K… and I’ve discovered some great strengthening exercises to keep the shin splints to a minimum-yay!
CHALLENGE 1 - WEEK 3 *I usually eat at home (or from home, for lunch) almost all the time and I contribute a lot of my “missing” 15lbs to this! Great challenge… anyone just starting, you will love the lower sodium and low-fat & cal subs you can make, and not miss any of the taste  *If anyone wants recipe ideas, let me know—I keep all of my menus for about a year and have tons of ideas!*
CHALLENGE 2 - WEEK 3 *Committing to my Shred schedule… fell a little off the wagon with that this week.
CHALLENGE 3 - WEEK 3 *Sadly for my MFP buddies, this requires me to get off the computer all night long! But, I know it will help me sleep better, which is important for this whole healthy lifestyle.
CHALLENGE 4 - WEEK 3 *Hmm… perhaps I’ll consider my “inner demons” after some meditating.

Welcome to the new folks and good luck to everyone this week

Slow but steady for me. I hit my goal of 150 a few days early. That means I lost about 7 lbs in February. My goal for March is another 5 lbs, but I know that will be more difficult as I get closer to my overall goal. I will be perfectly happy with measurements and muscle instead. I think I have around 15 miles logged so far, but P90X will probably limit my treadmill time for the next 3 months.

#1 - I only allow myself one night out a week anyway, and I just had it last night, so this will be easy. Big salads almost every night for me. And I eat lunch at work.

#2 - I'm starting P90X today and I already know that i don't like the Yoga portion, but I will try the whole thing this week and see what happens. If I still don't like it I will see if I can find a different yoga dvd at the library. I need the flexibility, balance and core, but I get SO bored.

#3 - I think I will take a hot bath today after P90X and just relax and focus on myself.

#4 - Nothing comes to mind, but we'll see.

    Have a great week!

Right, we're all at 3 weigh ins. That's correct. Since we haven't completed our 3rd week yet, there is no weigh in for week 3. Basically we weigh ourselves at the end of each week to show progress from it. We have our original starting weight to see where we stack up, then once we completed week1, we weigh in for week 1 to show our progress, and so on.

Am I making sense to anyone? It sounds much better in my head. :ohwell: Hope this helps.

Well, only down .2 this week, but I'm ok with that! My biggest milestone was my five miles that I ran yesterday! Can't wait for this Michigan weather to get more spring-like so I can get back outside.. the treadmill is killing my spirit!!! I'm almost 1/5 done with my 100 miles, so I'm totally psyched about that!

As far as the other challenges, I have to say I haven't really been focusing on them, although I think they are all valid and great challenges to us as we make and stick to this new life plan! I have a hard time changing my routines, especially when they are working well for me, so this is my plan for the week...

100 mile challenge: this will be a great week as my training plan has me running 13 total miles this week! Hope I can complete it all as scheduled so I can rock the 10k on May7!

    CHALLENGE 1 - WEEK 3
There's no way I can eat from home every day... I do Subway every day for lunch, I just can't sit at my office! I need to get out and be away from those people, plus I spend that time working on my Bible study lessons for the week.. it's a little "me" time that I give myself!

    CHALLENGE 2 - WEEK 3
I really don't know what to add that I haven't been doing, because I've been lifting weights and running and using the elliptical very regularly. I'd love to take long walks or do something outdoors, but it's just nasty out there!!! If I think of something, I'll post it!

    CHALLENGE 3 - WEEK 3
Now I do spend time praying and such throughout the week, but this is a great challenge to really spend some time working on me, so I'll try this one!

    CHALLENGE 4 - WEEK 3
What a great challenge! I don't like to blame anyone for my situation, after all.. I'm the one who put the food in my pie hole!!! Plus I'm the one who is addicted to lying around and watching tv!! Anyway, that being said, I have a tough relationship with my Mom and it's been a little more strained than usual this last month or so. There are many reasons for that, some on her end, some on mine. I'm going to challenge myself to pick up the phone and at least try to talk with her and let her know how I'm doing and see if she's alright. This is a big step, usually I let months and months go by and then when I finally call her she's all put out that I never pick up the phone and I'm like "works both ways, Mom!!" She absolutely never makes the first contact, and then she gets upset when I don't try!!! It's annoying and I'm sick to death of it, but it's who she is.. and I love her anyway. So I'll pick up the phone... at least once this week!

Ok.. off to the gym soon. Need to get in a good session on the weights! I like pumping iron... it's so satisfying!

Weigh in this week at 293.2 lbs 4.2 lbs loss

Will try to be back in this ASAP... I'm going to the clinic again in the am... I might have mono... I usually sleep 5-6 hours per night... right now I sleep like 12-14 hours and I'm still tired...(I even sleep during the day) They say I have most of the symptoms but I don't know... It's been like this for the last 3 weeks...

Have a great week everyone! Thanks Aprilval!

Yep, we're on the same page! It's the formula then that's incorrect - I think. Some people have weights in week 3 so I was confused. Phew. Glad that's over with.
