    wannalose25 - welcome!

ceelovejay - WTG being down! Bru explained how I've set up the spreadsheet...sorry it's confusing! If you wouldn't mind, it would be great if you could make SW and W1 the same so you'll have the calculations done for total lost.

nursee - WOOHOO! Have a kickazz time in Vegas! Love that city.

fitterpam - well done keeping yourself reigned in at the party last night. :)

Fancy_Nancy2 - very sorry to hear about an ill mom, but welcome to the group.

Bru - March MUST be better!

AprilVal - all of that cleaning is great exercise. What's the difference between all of the cleaning you've already been doing and spring cleaning?

linemansgirl - congrats on being down and congrats on your bro getting married! Gah, weddings are so fun.

cazz - I keep calling the cleaning fairy but all I'm getting is a busy signal. They're also constantly backordered on magic wands. WTH!?

bjshooter - hopefully your proper weigh-in goes the same direction as the Wii.

tannie - I hope your week evens out on the emotions. How was the C25K and Shred?

emilysebastian - great job being down.

lizard9800 - many congratulations on hitting your goal of 150 early! That's great!

Nikstergirl - daaaamn, 13 miles in one week is great! And *bow* on Challenge 4.

Chantal - jeepers creepers, you just keep making those pounds MELT away! *clap*
Yep, we're on the same page! It's the formula then that's incorrect - I think. Some people have weights in week 3 so I was confused. Phew. Glad that's over with.

I'll double-check the formula right now to make sure it reflects the difference from SW to W3. The Week 3 entry can be entered any time during Week 3, on whatever day you consider your weigh-in day to be.

ETA: nope, I've got the formula correct...=arrayformula((B2:B)-(E2:E))...

    CHALLENGE 1 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - EAT EVERY MEAL AT HOME THIS WEEK. I KNOW THIS ONE IS REALLY HARD, LIFE OFTEN GETS BUSY AND WE JUST PICK UP SOMETHING FAST ON THE WAY HOME. OR ON OUR LUNCH HOUR. INSTEAD TAKE A LITTLE EXTRA TIME TO MAKE YOUR LUNCH BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR WORK, OR MAKE DINNER. ITS ONLY SEVEN DAYS, YOU CAN DO THIS.

I am only cooking at home these days. I cant afford to eat out and really, I am soooo totally turned off by the food industry. If I dont make it myself, Im not eating it.

    CHALLENGE 2 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - REATTEMPT, AN EXERCISE OR WORKOUT THAT YOUVE TRIED IN THE PAST THAT YOU HAVEN'T LIKED. GIVE IT A TRY ALL OVER AGAIN. DO THIS WORKOUT A TOTAL OF AN 60 MINUTES FOR THE WEEK. (OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING YOUVE RECENTLY TRIED, DO IT AGAIN)

I have always succeeded in any workout that i have done except for climbing the rope in gym class... And thats an exercise for when Im not over 300lbs... or even over 200 lbs! I am starting new workouts though. :D

    CHALLENGE 3 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - WE ALL DESERVE A FEW MINUTES OF QUIET TIME. TAKE 10 MINUTES TOTAL THIS WEEK TO MEDITATE. REMEMBER TO PRACTICE YOUR BREATHING DURING THIS TIME. I FOUND THE BREATHING EXERCISE ON WII FIT VERY RELAXING, I TRY TO USE THAT TO HELP WITH MEDITATION. SIT IN A CORNER, OR ON THE EDGE OF THE BED, BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP.

HAHAHAHHA what is this you speak of? Might as well have spoken in Chinese!

    CHALLENGE 4 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - FACE YOUR DEMONS THAT ARE HOLDING YOU BACK. MOST OF US ARE THE WAY WE ARE BECAUSE SOMEONE HAS MADE US THIS WAY. THIS IS A WEEK OF LETTING LOSE. SPRING IS COMING UP, SO WHY NOT WORK ON "SPRING CLEANING" YOUR INNER BEING. IF YOU NEED OUR HELP WE ARE ALL HERE.

Im opting out of this one for now too. I know everything that is holding me back, but I cant face that right now. I need serious mental help before I even attempt it.

As for my day. I got very little done that I intended to. I have been throughly exhausted. I did get some walking done. I decided to hold off on the 30DS because I joined a challenge. And I didnt think it would be fair to start a day early. So thats for tomorrow.

Just saving my spot. I'll weigh-in tomorrow.

Thanks for the great challenges, April! I like them. I just WISH my tredmill would not have died. I'm not giving up though. I wasn't able to walk at all last week. But I'm AM going to try something this week to catch up. Maybe walk to the next town over - it's about 20 miles.  I think hubs would be scooping me up off the pavement.

I weighed in this morning and it was up from last week (and up big time from my unofficial weigh in on Friday for another challenge).....I'm thinking it's water weight because I'm pretty sure I would have noticed an addtional 10,000 calories consumed.....LOL Which is what it would have taken for me to gain what I did in fat from Friday. I wasn't able to jump on here and record it because we were running late this morning, but I'll definitely do that when I get home.

Hope everyone else's weigh in went better than mine!

So, I have been trying for a couple of months to get up earlier and do my exercising, but I always reset my alarm and put it off until "tomorrow". Beyond my walking for this challenge that is. I have figured out that I am just not a morning work out person. I hate mornings. If Dyl didnt have school, we would so be night owls because I do not like mornings at all. Not since I was about 6! I usually cannot get past being tired until about noon. So I guess Ill workout in the afternoon. Im more used to that schedule. Any time before noon and Im liable to fall asleep. Seriously, I frequently take Snaps. I call them snaps because although I am snoozing, Im not so gone that I dont know what my kid is doing or where she is.

  • I had the same understanding of the spreadsheet as ceelovejay. I have been weighing in on Sunday with the understanding that my last weigh in would be on Easter morning. By bumping up to week 4, my weigh in would be a week before that. I would like to keep things the way that I am doing them if possible. I can change if I need to.

April, you put SO much into these posts, you rock! Thank you so much!

Weight loss has been challenging for me the last few weeks. However, after a horrible sodium filled weekend last week when I gained about 7 pounds over night, I have successfully gotten back down to 232.8 as of this morning, so this will be my starting point for this challenge, even though we are 3 weeks in. I've also started a side challenge with Hubs to lose 18lbs by June 25th with an awesome prize for the winner, so my excitement and motivation are way up again!

100 miles in 70 days, how are we doing on this challenge? Those of you who are actually doing it. (are you having a hard time getting your miles in, is this doable still?) **I am doing this challenge and find it TOTALLY doable! I've only done 11.5 so far, but with the warm weather this week I'm going to probably get close to doubling that in just a few days. Just getting close will make me happy! I am getting a double jogging stroller FINALLY so I will be able to run on days that Hubs goes to work early...before I had no way to go with the girls and I couldn't leave them at home! So this will be an amazing new addition to my lifestyle.

*I almost always eat home cooked meals, so this will be easy for me. Friday night, however, is a long-standing date with Hubs, his brother, and his brother's fiancée so we will be eating out. However, the rest of the week I vow to eat home cooked! Dinner tonight will be steamed artichoke hearts, potato/green bean steamers from Green Giant, and grilled chicken breasts. YUM.

*I am considering re-trying Jillian Michaels. She gave me such bad shin splints last time that I am thinking of just trying level 2 and going easy on myself if I find it too hard, but I really don't think my legs can handle all the jumping in level 1. If that becomes another bust, maybe I'll try the 60 minute weight lifting video I have and have only done once because it was so miserable! :)

*I will need this. We are potty training and I have been so revved up I'm not sleeping very well. I think the relaxation right before bed will do me a lot of good!

*Spring cleaning my inner being.....WOW. There are a lot of ghouls in my closet, from an overbearing mother who had me on a diet in kindergarten to abandonment issues from my father to sexual abuse in my childhood to being cheated on by someone I loved and trusted more than anyone in the whole world...yeah I'd say I ran to food to cope. I'm actually considering starting back in therapy with someone who specializes in eating disorders because I think most of my problems come back to self-esteem which I continually beat the hell out of with food and lack of exercise. Then I just feel worse, and the whole thing starts over again. Maybe this is a good time to do it.

My goal for this challenge is to lose 10 pounds for Easter, which will leave me with 8 pounds left to lose by June 25 for the challenge with Hubs (in preparation for a family wedding that he is in).

CrystalS: Holy cow girl! You are on a roll! Congratulations on the amazing loss!
Tannie: I think working out in the afternoons is a great idea. You have to do what works best in your life because this will be part of your life forever now. I commend you for looking at your lifestyle and making adjustments to fit exercise in, that's great!
    nursee: Have fun in vegas!
Ceelovesjay: hey, 1/2 pound is 1/2 pound! WOOT!
fitterpam: I bet it is water weight. Drink your weight in water the next few days and I bet you will notice a difference. And not just in the amount of pee you produce.

Sorry for the long post guys!

(OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING YOUVE RECENTLY TRIED, DO IT AGAIN) I'm getting just dance, so im going to use that one this week.. :) debating on running to get it before work to try it out.. :) hehe.. What can i say, im spoiled..

I have begun this, messaged someone whos made my life a living hell for some time. hoping something good may come out of it. But i wont hold my breath. If i did id be lying dead on the floor.. trust me.

This has been an up and down weekend.. :( Was emotional yesterday and i hate being that way.. :(

Yep, we're on the same page! It's the formula then that's incorrect - I think. Some people have weights in week 3 so I was confused. Phew. Glad that's over with.

I don't think the formula is incorrect at all. I didn't see anyone with week 3 weights.

Anyway, I hope you all are having a good Monday, we had tornado sirens going off from 1030p to midnight and it was crazy around here. We didn't have any damage, nor did we lose power. Still wish we'd have bought a house with a basement, just in case.

I did 30DS level 2 yesterday and I feel it and the scale reflects my achy muscles. I weigh in tomorrow for another challenge, maybe I'll take today really light on the exercise, I don't wanna hurt too bad!

@April: I really hate the emotional rollercoaster that comes with TOM. I try not to talk to people that matter during my emotional moments! LOL I remember once sitting down with my supervisor just for a little chin wag... and ended up crying in her office! It's been YEARS since that happened and I STILL feel the embarrassment!!

I weighed in this morning but am wondering if I should use my "official" weight from personal trainer weigh in this afternoon since that's the one I have been using? Oh well, I suppose it shouldn't matter - I just feel the need for consistency. Hmmm... OCD much?

Guess I should get off this computer and get to work...

    casey - see you later!

    wannalose25 - let us know how you're doing. :)

fitterpam - I'd have to say I'd be very impresssed if you could get another 10,000 calories in! It's like that line from "Anchorman" - "You ate the whole wheel of cheese?! I'm not even mad, I'm impressed!"

tannie - totally hear 'ya on being a night owl! I think that word you made up is cute.

CrystalS - happy Monday indeed! WTG!

linemansgirl - I guess if the way you're using the spreadsheet works for you, then keep on keepin' on.

ashley - don't you dare be sorry for a long post! I've got faith in you that you can make your Easter and June goals.

AprilVal - our uterusus (uteri?) are in sync. I wish the person who made your life hell woudl communicate with you so you can put things behind you, but good on you for starting to shed the nasty.

Bru - yikes on the tornado warnings! Glad everything is OK and everyone is safe. How scary.

cazz - well...maybe you shold listen to your inner OCD elf so when you do log your weight, you don't look back and say "well, that one that wasn't logged by the trainer maybe wasn't toally right, so, I don't know if I should really count it...", or maybe that is just my inner OCD elf.

OMG, someone needs to get me off this crazy TOM train! Every few cycles my emotions are all over the place and I'm one giant sensitive ball of woe is me. Dealt with yucky financial stuff this morning (that was a fun 40 minute conference call...) and the hits just kept on coming. I was planning on going to Nordstrom Rack tonight to maybe do a little exchange, but I don't think it is smart for me to leave the house today. Feels like one of those Mercury in Retrograde days where I just need to crawl back in bed and avoid the world.

On the bright side though, I did end up winning that dress on eBay! :) I set my alarm so I'd wake up in time for the end of acution and everything. Oh, and I know most people on here already have HRM watches and such, but I have a Timex lap watch that I've worn maybe once and don't use. I'm going to sell it on eBay but if anyone in here wants it...I originally bought it for $40 but I'd be happy to get $20 out of it. Make me an offer, though! Let me know! (Here's the product link http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/181-4474363-4715145?asin=B00020J1GW&AFID=Froogle_df&LNM=|B00020J1GW&CPNG=jewelry&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=B00020J1GW&ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001 )

Okay - so officially since starting this challenge, I have gained....almost 5 lbs....YIKES!!!! I was actually at my lowest weight so far on Friday, this morning I was up 4.9lbs over that. Drinking the heck out of my water today, let's see if that changes anything.....

Oh and as for the polish and the pool....the Sally Hansen Max Strength top coat was no match for the pool chemicals....I came out of the pool with no polish on at all....not bad if I want to manicure it weekly and not have to use NP remover  Not sure it's good for me to be swimming in NP remover though.

WOWZA those are some strong chemicals you're swimming in! Maybe try Duri Rejuvacoat. Or Seche Vite.

I haven't seen either of those brands where I get them. I might have to wait until my trip to the states to pick up anything else. At least it's coming off cleanly with no work.....the only one that didn't come off was a very thin coat of Borghese...I couldn't get it off with NP either though.....So I put polish over it and then it came off in the pool

Down to 178.6 this week. 1.4lb loss from last week. WOO! HOPEFULLY I'll continue downward with this progress. I'm planning on it!

    1) Eating home meals. Definitely need to focus on that this week. Even if my husband tries to tempt me otherwise... I made homemade tuna noodle casserole last night, and broccoli and turkey cutlets for lunch, so there's a start.

    2) I'm going to try and reattempt the 30 day shred. I just hate to do cardio... so we'll see how it goes. I've got to learn to love it.

    3) I found and app for the iphone/ipod for breathing techniques. It helps you learn how to breathe and relax. Will do that a few times. My DR recommended it to me actually.

    4) Inner demons. Well those are all related to my family stress right now, and am actually starting counseling for it... so hopefully I can deal with the 2 divorces, get it out, and move on.

Hope you all have a good week!! I love seeing all your progress!

Just got back from my honeymoon - a week at an all inclusive resort in the Dominican! It was so fantastic, and I did pretty well on the healthy front...we walked 3-5 miles on the beach each day, I worked out in the gym once (ok, only once, but better than not at all!), and ate pretty healthy, most of the time. I had a couple of pina coladas most days, and they were SO good!

I've been reading the posts and I'm motivated to get back into working out at home. I've also been thinking about doing a zumba class, which I haven't done for a year, and it would fit perfectly into one of the challenges this week!

I think I'm at 38 miles so far on the 100 mile challenge.

argh.... Off to the personal trainer... aka "The Slave Driver - Heather" Still having a more hate than love relationship with her... but her tactics are working for me! Tonight is my weekly weigh in as well... so... we'll see what she has to yell at me about! (it's always something!!)
