fitterpam - have you ever used pure acetone to take off stubbon polish? Works great, especially if you're using dense glitter polish.

violet - YAY on the 1.4 loss! That's great success. I hope you find nothing but success in your counseling. *hug*

AprilVal - Aunt Flo is a horrid biitch sometimes. :( Sorry she got the best of you today. She's not playing nicely with me this month either. Don't beat yourself up over the emotional eating you did today. You know where you went wrong, and you're going to work on not letting that happen again in the future. You're a very strong woman. Don't let yourself forget that.

Alegria - welcome back! So glad to hear you had a great honeymoon. I hope you took tons of pictures! Is your profile picture from your trip? You look so radiantly happy, and that fuzzy little guy on your shoulder is too cute!

cazz - hope Hellraiser Heather treats you nicely tonight! Or if she didn't, I hope you just dished it right back at her.

Today was offically a wallow day for me. Even though I had nowhere to go I did my makeup. Didn't cheer me up. Decided to go and curl my hair...the grey emo cloud still hovered above. Heated up my crock pot stew leftovers and poured a glass of wine, and discovered a wrongly-charged fee on my should-be-paid-off-and-closed-out-credit card. *sigh* Called the back, resolved the fee (which was an error on their end and should have never happened) and had the account closed down (which should have already happened since I'd sent a letter in with my last payment requesting the acct be closed). *mumble grumble* I don't want to leave the house - my luck isn't with me today and I'm sure I'd pop a tire or something. It is looking like my best bet is to take out my frustrations on cleaning the house. That'll be a win-win once it is all done.

OH, and I had an idea...

SPRING CLEANING "H20" STYLE (April, you got me thinking about this)

Since we'll all probably start thinking about the warmer weather and will be sorting through our closets doing some spring cleaning, I figured we'll be coming across clothing that no longer fits us thanks to our healthier lifestyles. Would anyone be interested in doing an "H20" clothing exchange? Like, we can keep a running list of what everyone has available, and what they're asking for it (free/swap/$). My hubby is always bugging me that I have too many clothes, and I'm always bugging him to go through his since he doesn't wear half of his wardrobe.

I dunno, am I talking crazy or does anyone think this is a good idea? I can set up an editable Google spreadsheet...we can call it the Spring Swap...

@pink & @april CHEER UP! Things WILL get better!! I mean, I understand how difficult some days can be. I have a 10 yr old special needs kid. His issues, however, are not physical. He has psyc. problems. He is pretty much stabilized on meds... but still has occasional "meltdowns". On those days... he gets violent, he just totally flips out. (I could go on for days about it - but I will spare you all!) On THOSE days, I have to remember God loves me - no matter what. Tomorrow is another day... another opportunity to do things right, or better. I hope that both of you find peace in that. One day... 24 hrs... that's it. Then you get a "do-over"!! I feel so lucky, blessed, grateful... for everything I am and am not, for all I have and don't have... Life is good, not perfect, but good!

oh... and pink... Can you believe the slave driver is actually PAID to abuse me?! LMAO Our agreement is this: She says, I do. That's it!

H20 Seventy Days of Shredding those EGGGstra pounds
    Week 3 of 10

[100 miles in 70 days, how are we doing on this challenge? Those of you who are actually doing it. (are you having a hard time getting your miles in, is this doable still?)
    CHALLENGE 1 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - EAT EVERY MEAL AT HOME THIS WEEK. I KNOW THIS ONE IS REALLY HARD, LIFE OFTEN GETS BUSY AND WE JUST PICK UP SOMETHING FAST ON THE WAY HOME. OR ON OUR LUNCH HOUR. INSTEAD TAKE A LITTLE EXTRA TIME TO MAKE YOUR LUNCH BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR WORK, OR MAKE DINNER. ITS ONLY SEVEN DAYS, YOU CAN DO THIS.

    CHALLENGE 2 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - REATTEMPT, AN EXERCISE OR WORKOUT THAT YOUVE TRIED IN THE PAST THAT YOU HAVEN'T LIKED. GIVE IT A TRY ALL OVER AGAIN. DO THIS WORKOUT A TOTAL OF AN 60 MINUTES FOR THE WEEK. (OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING YOUVE RECENTLY TRIED, DO IT AGAIN)

    CHALLENGE 3 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - WE ALL DESERVE A FEW MINUTES OF QUIET TIME. TAKE 10 MINUTES TOTAL THIS WEEK TO MEDITATE. REMEMBER TO PRACTICE YOUR BREATHING DURING THIS TIME. I FOUND THE BREATHING EXERCISE ON WII FIT VERY RELAXING, I TRY TO USE THAT TO HELP WITH MEDITATION. SIT IN A CORNER, OR ON THE EDGE OF THE BED, BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP.

    CHALLENGE 4 - WEEK 3
(02/27) - FACE YOUR DEMONS THAT ARE HOLDING YOU BACK. MOST OF US ARE THE WAY WE ARE BECAUSE SOMEONE HAS MADE US THIS WAY. THIS IS A WEEK OF LETTING LOSE. SPRING IS COMING UP, SO WHY NOT WORK ON "SPRING CLEANING" YOUR INNER BEING. IF YOU NEED OUR HELP WE ARE ALL HERE.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK - "If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom." ~Terri Guillemets

I made a couple less challenges this week. I dont know how well you will like them. I was just trying to throw them together before bed. You may or may not like them. Hope you all have an amazing week. We got this!

Until next week - April Val

    Weigh in log: http://bit.ly/gc6Fqt

I am getting better, though I counted yesterday and sunday's indoor walk even though I am not sure of the distance, I counted it at my slower pace of 2.5mph (last nights power walk was more than 3.5mph to be sure but Sunday's walk was definitely slower)

I will try to get in a zumba this week - i am not particularly good at it but no one sees me in the living room except for me and the cats right?

as far as eatng every meal at home..

I will take it to mean except for lunch or food you eat at the office (which is breakfast and lunch for me) I will eat all dinners at home except for Friday, then we have reservations to belatedly celebrate my birthday (all my breakfasts come from home btw and about 3-4 of my lunches per week)

    Great challenges btw!

it is Sunny here in Belgium hope everyone else can say the same

I love the let's look maaahvelous to see if it will make me feel maaahvelous attitude!

cheer up at least that blasted card is now paid off and closed- can I give you mine? :-)

love the google idea- I am too far away (postage cost wise) but think it's great and US postage for smaller packages is really inexpensive in this regard!

    1. I totally get those days. Often. Its hard to get out of a funk once you are in it. I think I was in one for about 2 weeks where just nothing was going right and I couldn't make it right and I felt just DOWN about myself. I am sorry you are going through that. I hope that it gets better soon, and in the meantime you have all of us to cheer you on and hopefully cheer you up! And the great part is you were doing your damnedest to make it a better day, which is a really good step in the right direction!

    2. I LOVE the idea of the clothing swap. I REALLY want to need new clothes soon, and then again soon after that, etc, and it would be nice to be able to get some nice clothes from people I "know" instead of either spending a fortune on an in between wardrobe or getting yukky stuff at the local big box store and not feeling good about what I am wearing or how I look. I would love to help you in any way you might need if we end up doing this, and I hope we do!

A few ups and downs on my part...

Cheer up Pink and April! Today is March 1st... new month, new season just around the corner... I think this could cheer us up a bit. I love your idea of clothing swap but I don't think this could work with me being across the border... It would be costy and also take forever to get to destination...

My daughter will be 10 years old tomorrow! (no money to celebrate her birthday the way she's used too but will try to make it up during March break... she understand the situation) On a brighter note my husband is starting his new/old job back tonight but now he is the manager. YEAH! a little pay increase... not much but will take it!

Went to the clinic yesterday and they say that there is so many cases of mono that they don't want and need to make the test since I have mostly all of the symptoms. I need to sleep, rest and and no contact sports to make sure my spleen doesn't get ruptured... DAH! She says to give it at least 6 to 10 weeks... OMG!!!! I will get better before then!!! I hope... I need my energy back! I was doing so well before Xmas...

OK time to go for a walk outside since It's only minus 7 this morning... YEAH! At least I won't fall asleep walking!

    Have a great day everyone!

Hi everyone! Having fun in Vegas! Walking like crazy, will add those miles in when I get home. Saw the Beatles 'Love' show.... How totally awesome!!! Eating is fair, not going overboard. Had some beer too. Won a little money but gave it back.

Glad everyone is hanging in there....March is
here, Spring is knocking on the door.

    Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

Ooh, Vegas!! Glad you're having fun! I miss Vegas. I need to plan a trip there soon.

I'm trying Chobani Greek Yogurt for the first time (peach flavor). It is FANTASTIC!! I don't know why I was so hesitant to try this stuff before. And loaded with protein! Sweet!

Edited to add a NSV: I purchased a size 12 CK sheath dress some time last year (probably during one of my many shopping binges). When I put it on, it fit but it pulled (REALLY pulled) around the zipper in the back. Well, I put that puppy on today. NO PULLING! Woohoo!

Good morning all and HAPPY MARCH!!! Cheer up everyone, things will get better.,.. It's a new month and pretty a new season! Yay for Spring!

I like the idea of the clothing swap too, I've seen so many attempts throughout the site and nothing ever works out, so being in a tighter knit thread, I would think it should work. I don't have anything available though as I just sent my small lot of clothes to an MFP 2weeks ago and I still need to buy myself some new clothes. I have $70 so I'm hoping to hit up some clearence sales and consignment shops :)

Weighed in by mistake Sunday thinking it was Monday and scale said 195.4 but I didn't log it since it wasn't Monday...yesterday I was up to 196.8 due to high sodium night. I did weigh in this morning for 2 other threads and the sodium is gone!!! 194.4 which means I'm .5 lb away from the big 5-0! Even though my ticker has rounded up :grumble:

Anyway, I hope this month is better for everyone. I ended the month on a great note last night, so I'm hoping that it's just a sneak peak of what's to come this month. Spring is pretty much here and I can't wait to get back to outside activities! My next 5k's are coming up, I have a 'virtual' 5k on the 12th and my actual 5k on the 19th. Can't wait!

This month, I'm going get outside as much as possible to walk/jog, do my rainy day walking with Leslie Sansone, I have 30Ds for an extra just cause, and Just Dance 1 and 2 because we all need to let loose sometimes!

Okay, Ladies! I'm not sure what I'm going to have to do here. I desperately want to stay here, because the support and accountability has been wonderful for me. BUT without my tredmill, I don't think I can keep up and I think I've about gone too long to be able to make it up in time. I figured I'd do about 10 miles a week. I wasn't able to walk all last week......:ohwell:

I know the tredmill isn't the only way you can walk, but if it's not snowing, it's raining outside and if it's not raining it's freezing cold. I don't feel like taking my four littles out in that would be a good choice.

(sigh) I'm kind of discouraged. Any advise, or suggestions?

It looks like the rest of you are doing super!!!!!!! Keep up the good work! It's paying off.

Pink_and_shiny - I love the picture! I've had many days like that and if I could do my job with a paper bag on my head, there would be days where I'd totally do it.

Brunettewife - congratulations on 50 pounds! That's an awesome accomplishment and a source of inspiration!

CrystalS - have you tried skipping or jumping jacks for cardio? They won't be great for the 100 mile challenge, but they sure get your heart rate up. My trainer made me do jumping jacks for three minutes at a time and I wanted to die at first. I thought of walking indoors somewhere (mall, etc), but if you have four little guys, that would probably be an "experience" rather than a workout :)

Thanks, Alegria79! Yes, the mall would most certainly be an experience. We don't have one very close by either. I had not thought of the jumping jacks. I do have a work out that I do that really gets my blood pumping, but that doesn't count for the 100 miles. That's mainly what I'm looking for, so I can still be part of this thread. Thanks for the ideas though.

cazz - I chucked the blues and am back to being happy bubbly me. :) Thanks for the reminder - I need to remember to not let myself get so encumbered by things that I'll be able to tackle and get over. WTG on the 2lb loss!

JeninBelguim - it is sunny here in California, too! :) Being pretty on the outside can sometimes help feel pretty on the inside, it was worth a shot. :D And yeah, exactly, I need to be happy that I've taken the reigns on my financial stuff and gotten things squared away and in order. If I'd won the lottery, I'd pay yours off too. And well - maybe you can participate on the swap too...I can add a part to each item listing where we say WHERE we're able to ship it too. You never know!

Ashley - thank you for the nice words. :) I was able to talk to my sis today and comiserate so that was fun. Thanks for your vote of confidence in the swap! Sounds like I should get the ball rolling. Would love to hear whatever imput you have...I'm thinking I set up columns for:
    1) MFP member name
    2) items available/item descriptions
    3) link to picture of items (if available)
    4) $ (free/swap/cost)
    5) mailing cost/where it can be mailed to

Chantal - yay for your daughter's birthday, and yay for your hubby getting a promotion! That's just great news all around. Mono?! I had a small case of that in high school (small meaning I was out of commission for a week) and it suuuucked. I know your pain. Feel better!!

nursee - you're so funny for posting from Vegas! Shouldn't you be taking over a slot machine or singing at a piano bar right now? :P If you get the chance, you gotta eat at Cravings at the Mirage. Best buffet in Vegas!

ceelovejay - I just saw a commercial the other night for Chiobani yogurt. Hearing your thumbs up makes me interested in trying it. CONGRATS on your NSV! That's so great.

Bru - that is so cool that you're so very close to hitting 50! What an astounding accomplishment.

mrmarler - sounds like you're doing good on everything. Keep it up!

CrystalS - don't you dare think you can't be in this thread for one reason or another! If you try to leave I'll track you down and bug you until you get your patootie back in here, silly goose. Here comes a suggestion...Do you have a pedometer, or do you have one you could borrow from a friend? Is there a TV show that you watch every day? What if while that show is on every day (I'm thinking a 30 minute show) you grab that pedometer, and walk in place. Each step you take can be translated and logged as miles.

    bjshooter - YAY!

tannie - gald you're on track. The blahs are definitely going around. If you have a minute, take a look at this, hopefully it'll bring you a smile...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm3dm5J5r0A

Hapy March 1st everyone! So happy it is a new month - I'm feeling good about this. The thing that got me down yesterday was looming this morning, but when I didn't hear anything I took that as a "no news is good news" deal and was happy. Then this afternoon I was talking to hubby about how I hadn't heard from said news bearer and BOOM, my phone rings. It was THEM! *dun dun dun* But, the news was good, and I even got a half-azzed apology for the heated convo yesterday. LOL. Whatever, it is done and over with and my life is moving on. Hubby and I are looking into a little Vegas escape in the next couple weeks, and I'm going to be modeling (MODELING!!) for a friend's new t-shirt company. Like, multiple locations, multiple models, full on photo shoot. I don't know exactly what I'll be wearing, but wow. The fact that I was even asked to participate makes me

Hello everyone! I love catching up with this thread when I get home from a long day.. you're all so awesome it's like having a bunch of friends over for tea!!!! LOL!

Anyway, did my easy 2 miles tonight, so I'll update my ticker in a minute. I actually MADE dinner tonight.. just chicken and carrots in the crockpot all day.. very moist and yummy since I do it in chicken broth. My kids like it and it's very healthy, so I'm glad I did it! Didn't have the time or patience to make any rice or anything, but that's ok. Still thinking about calling my Mom.. probably Thursday since I have the day off and maybe I'll find out if we can meet for lunch or something, we'll see. Spent a lot of time in prayer lately for some friends of mine who are going through some stuff so I'm feeling really good about that.. sure I'll spend a few minutes yet tonight on at least one of them!

Watching the Biggest Loser tonight... it's inspiring to me and I love it even though my weight is coming off slowly, but I'm worth it! That's what I've been telling myself as I run or lift or whatever... I'm worth it! My future grandchildren are worth it, my husband is worth it, my sons are worth it.. they are all worth me being healthy! All the future things I'm going to do, all the people I will meet, all the songs I will sing... they're all worth the hard work I'm putting in today! I want to be there!!! I want to be the spunky 80 year old who straps on her running shoes and hits the beach in the morning and again in the evening!!!! IT"S WORTH IT!!!!!

Ok, rant over... thanks for all your support and for sharing all your joys and struggles... they really help support and inspire me!!!

Well Im having a hard time staying on top of everything. But on the good note my hubby had to keep the kids all day saturday while I had EMT class and the first thing he said to me when I got home is "I dont know how you do it". I loved hearing that. He just doesnt, or didnt, understand what a mom goes through on a daily basis at home. Im not saying working mom dont either, been there done that. It was just nice to hear him say that after all this time. I havent weighed in this week yet, that is on tomorrows agenda. Hoping since TOM finally went away it will get back to normal but we will see.
For the 100 miles I got in 1.46 miles today. I now have 90.52 to go. The 20 hrs is a different story I havent done much at all. Im still at 1198 to go.

Challenge 1 Week 3-Every meal at home-Already broke this. Had dinner out with the kids yesterday.
Challenge 2 Week 3-Reattempt Exercise-Im reattempting to start my new workouts that seem to keep getting pushed to the side.
Challenge 3 Week 3-10 mins to self- I try to do this every night after I get the kids to bed.
Challenge 4 Week 3-Face your demons-I think all in all that is me. And I will totally be working on this one.

CrystalS-I saw you were looking for a way to walk without getting kids out and without the treadmill. You could look into Leslie Sansone Dvd's. You can get 5 miles in, in 82 mins with her 5 day slim down or you could do a mile a day. I only have one of her dvds but I love it. I got mine off of ebay for like $4.00. Its worth looking into.
