Hi everyone! I can't believe another week has gone by!! Week 9 starts tomorrow! Please send me or post your update if you haven't done so already!
This week has been a bit rough for me--- first full week in new place, so my eating has been out of whack...we've been eating super late, and I haven't been getting to the gym as often as I'd like. And now TOM is here, and I hurt my toe really bad the other night! I'm not sure if I broke it...but its all bruised and swollen, it's really gross! The problem is I can't wear closed toe shoes, and it still hurts pretty bad to walk on, unless I change how I walk. So until it starts feeling better I won't be able to exercise as hard as I normally do.
Yesterday I received a messege from a fellow challenger asking if I was planning on doing another challenge when this one is over. It was suggested that one to Christmas or NYE. I was thinking Christmas, if I remember correctly I think there are about 16 weeks from Labor day to Christmas day, so I think that could be a good time frame. (I think Halloween and Thanksgiving are a little too close!) So I'm thinking I'll be doing a Christmas challenge if anyone wants to join, but I'll post more details about that later...just wanted to mention it!
I can't believe how hot it is everywhere! It's really getting annoying!!! (For me it's always like this in Florida, but I'm STILL not used to it!) So this week the challenge will be to drink water! It's so important anyways, but especially now in this heat! So drink up!!! :drinker:0 -

Better week this week, even with the family drama an ongoing situation. It has been too hot to really push the workouts-even the gym is uncomfortable warm. (And I am usually cold!) I was proud of one decision/action this week. We were going out to celebrate my son's 22nd birthday, and I had forgotten and didn't have a lot of calories left. I had made good choices and would have been fine for dinner at home, but going out to eat is always a caloric adventure. We had a 20 minute wait and instead of just sitting and waiting, I walked around the building (it is a small strip mall) a few times. It burned some extra calories and I could enjoy what I wanted (within reason of course!) and still stay on track!
I love the challenge for this week. Drinking water is one of my biggest "opportunities" on this journey. This will help keep me focused.

So another beautiful morning here in Buffalo...It's been super hot . No excuse not to get outside and move. Happily I weighed in this morning down another -1 lb.....Enough to motivate me to keep on moving . :drinker: I didn't reach my monthly goal of 10 lbs. ( it's only been -4) But I have lost overall at least 5 inches in the month. So I'll think about that as I work to reach my August goal. I suppose I should adjust it shouldn't I ?? Or do I just add it to my August and try to lose 16 by then ?? I don't want to mentally set myself up for failure. What would you do ? Shoot for 10 or 16 or just the 6 I missed ?0

Running is sooo much fun. I still do walk run ... set intervals for me. I always try to tell myself I can do anything for 90 seconds! You also can do anything for 90 seconds. Stick with the goal of 10 ... even if you dont reach your goal you will come close... its exciting. I set my goal very low... 10 pounds... and I might actually reach it. I lose weight very slowly...
Oh and 1 pound is still something to celebrate! So celebrate it! Look at my weights... 1 pound adds up after a while!
Oooh and I would totally be up for a Christmas challenge... would like to lose 25 by Christmas (although Im pretty sure that number is too high for me but I like to shoot for the stars)0 -

I think you should focus on losing the 6 you missed, because then if you lose more than that, you'll feel really good because you were focused only on 6!0 -

The challenge this week jumping jacks! I think we've already done this one, but I think it is a great exercise! In Jillian Michael's 30 day shred level 3, she suggests doing jumping jacks using a light weight....you don't lift your arms up all the way, to about shoulder length. If you want to do it like this, that's great! But regular jumping jacks are just as fine/effective!

good morning ! No change for me this week.:noway: I'm starting to track my sugar which I believe has something to do with my lack of movement on the scale last month. I've been eating so much fresh fruit, my sugar has been really high. So the plan is to limit the fresh fruit with more fresh veggies considerably. Hopefully that will do it. My trainer said once your body gets to be more efficient, you can't lower the calories back. ( which I had tried to do after I raised them) So back up they went with a new focus. 4 more weigh in days till labor day...gotta see some movement this month.Off to farmers market this morning.
