I took Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off for a long weekend with the family. Bad idea because I've got little to no motivation to hit the gym after work. I'll do it but still trying to pep myself up for it. :ohwell:

For now my Leangains experiment is closed. The 2lbs I'd lost, I put back on. So although I liked it and didn't have any real issues with it, I'd have to go out and buy more BCAAs to continue it and I'm just not THAT into it right now. I've got to get my training more regulated at this point.

So my 2 week goal for this week is to stay at my calorie allotment for the ENTIRE week which includes those PIA days of the weekend where it's too easy to forget what you're eating/not supposed to be eating. And to do at least 4 body rocks a week. I have one planned for after the gym today.

    Have a great Monday.

I am getting back into routine this week.

I am going back to carb cycling and excited to make the effort and see where it gets me. I am not sure on work out. I think I might do another 2-3 week of doing the sexy lady series with some extra workouts in there. Not sure where I am with fat and weight after last week but hopefully I can get back on track to my goals.

Today, given my exhaustion post music festival, I am going to try to do some sort of low level cardio and get back to things tomorrow.

Hi! I see that this group was started in June, so I'm wondering if it's going on longer than 2 weeks and if so, may I join you?

Welcome morsels - you can join whenever, just read the beginning and join in!

Back to schedule for the week! Did not do myself any good over the weekend, didn't think much about counting or exercise!! I'm going to try doing leangains again (for this week at least) and see if there's much of a difference. I know next week will probably be off again since I am taking the week off with my bf. I did do extra work outs this week though seeing as I went to an actual gym! I think this week I am also gong to try adding push ups and planks into my daily routine. Lets see how it works!! Great job everyone :)

I went to Kanrocksas...it is the first year for it. Basically, a bunch of the acts coming to and from Lollapalooza stopped by and it was pretty awesome.

Did well eating low carb and went on my walk! Back to strength classes today and hopefully some cardio!

    Thanks for having me!

My biggest frustration is that the 25 pounds I have gained in the past 10 years seem to all be in my belly! Well, some of it is definitely on my thighs as well, but it's what's on my belly that I hate. Someone at work the other day asked if I was pregnant. [Insert sobbing emoticon here!]

I have started running again in earnest. I do that a couple times every year and then I slack off. Every time I say, "this time I'm really going to stick with it!"

And I'm trying to cut out the snacking. I love salty snacks and I will eat a whole big bag of Pirate Booty while sitting in front of the TV with no problem. Tracking my food is definitely helping. I've done plans like this before (not sure if we're allowed to mention others by name, but you can probably guess which one) and if I really stick with the tracking, I do lose, but I fall off that wagon after a few weeks, too. The good thing about doing the running plus the tracking is that I have the added push to run so that I get more calories for the day!

I really want to lose 5 lbs by Labor Day, but I eventually want to lose the whole 25 by the end of the year.

shander- Keep us posted on your LG results. I did like it and for me personally it seemed to work well. EXCEPT that whole issue of making breakfast for the family. LoL. Do you do the BCAAs or protein?

morsels- Welcome. We try to set up 2 week challenges for ourselves, usually 2 things. Something to keep us motivated to get through the daily struggles!

Mamareese - I don't do the protein or BCAAs, I don't follow the program exactly, I mainly do the fasting part of it, and I feel like it made me feel less bloated, so I'll try it again this week and see if I feel any better. It's hard to do it when I stay at my bf's because he enjoys making me breakfast and I feel bad when I keep refusing! I usually fast from 8/9 and then start at my lunch time which is at 11:45.

Don't people know that you never ask a woman if she is pregnant unless, maybe, if there is a baby emerging from between her legs, otherwise you are asking for trouble. I knew someone who had a baby through a surrogate and a stranger told her not to worry, she'd get her figure back!
There are some good resources on the first pages of this thread:
    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/259476-not-that-heavy-girls-trying-to-lose-weight

so if you want to check it out. You might find some new strategies or challenges.
I did the SF workout yesterday. Will do Day 2 today and Day 3 tomorrow.
I ordered door-to-door organix and I guess it comes tomorrow, I thought it was today. I am excited!

True story. Never, EVER ok. So I never ask anyone, even if it's obvious.

    But seriously, welcome morsels!

I did pretty good last week with focusing on cardio/endurance building for my trip, but this week isn't looking so good. I did Zumba last night, and I'll be lucky if I can hit the gym one more time this week. Working 10 hour days + packing for 8 day trip + cooking/prepping healthy-ish camping food (if there is such a thing)= no gym time. At least it will be a very active vacation.
So my goal for the next week will be to watch my calorie counts very closely and not eat crap! I've been doing really good with what I eat, but when I stress and get ready to go, I tend to grab convenience food too much.

Super exicted!!! Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

I understand what you're saying...I've gone through those phases myself where I worked out for a while, got healthier, and eventually stopped. Same with eating well. I've been on here for over 6 months, which is the longest I have stuck to routine, and found the key for me is not "not falling off" but knowing that I have to go back to it. I have weekends and entire weeks where I do terribly, but its all about making that terrible less terrible and less often :)

Also, just an FYI, I've also noticed that unrealistic expectations contribute to weight loss failure. While I think your goals are within reason don't be disappointed if you don't make them either. You would have to lose a little over a pound a week to meet those criteria...lots of people do it but as you get leaner it gets harder and harder. Goals are great but its good for them to flexible too!

Been knocking out bodyrocks left and right! Whoohoo. It's easier to convince myself that I shouldn't slack on a 12 minute workout than say a 60 minute Insanity. Haha.

Other thing I've been trying to work on is, when I started my MFP 'journey' I was still drinking regular pop, switched that to Diet and have been down to like 1 a day. Been trying to lay off it all together. The only time I really struggle with this is if we go out to dinner but we don't have any plans to do that in the next week or so- so I figure it's something else to see if it has any effect on my progress. I've been eating relatively clean lately and, though it feels awesome, the scale hasn't stuck down to where it fluctuates. Plus TOM is looming so no real point in dwelling over the scale.

    Another week, another challenge. *wink*

Do you have all the equipment for these workouts?? If not, what do you use instead???

I've decided to add little extras into my day. For the past 2 days I have gone up to the fabric room upstairs (very limited access, so I know no one will walk in!) at work and have done squats. I'm hoping this will add muscle to my rear and then maybe I'll actually have one for once in my life!! I'm not sure how much this will help in the long run, but I guess it's better than nothing! I also am going to make myself take more trips to the fabric room (quite a distance, I work in an old renovated factory building) to get more walking in.

I don't have the Ugi Ball that she uses so I use either an exercise/stability ball or a weighted ball depending on what the work out is. And for the Dip Station, I don't have it so depending on the move I'll modify an exercise that uses the same muscles, unless it's just her knee raises then I go to the counter and just use that to hold myself up! I'm sure it looks silly as hell but those dip stations are WAY expensive!!

I got through 3 days, three SF workouts. The gym was so crowded and hot like and oven last night, I was annoyed. I couldn't even find a bench for the incline pushups so I just did pushups on the floor, not sure if it matters.
My sister and nieces got in late last night. Today I have to work, and day off from working out. tomorrow, and maybe for the rest of her stay, I will just do couch to 5k running ever other day-Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday because Warrior Dash is next weekend.
I was thinking of getting a major challenge for October and have like a sexy halloween costume challenge, what do you all think? Any costume ideas? I was thinking Amy Winehouse would be cool to dress up as, if I could get someone to draw some tattoos on me and find a good beehive wig. Also, I would love to rock a mermaid costume! there is a concert on halloween and it's always fun to dress up!

I think that challenge sounds fun!! I have no clue what halloween costume I would want, but hopefully I'll have some rockin abs and maybe I'll show those off? That would be huge though! Luckily I can still go to college Halloween parties since the bf is still there, but I could blend right in with a sexy costume :P

LOVE that idea! I was thinking of trying to be Poison Ivy (from the Batman movies) but want the abs for it :)

Also, sounds like y'all are doing awesome! I didn't get my work out in yesterday but did two yesterday and hopefully two today too. Also, last night I went to two different restaurants to meet people and didn't drink at all and only ate what I needed :)

saw that on the lushy thread, Kate, that is nice you can go to a bar and not have a drink! I cannot, usually, although, I did go to that baseball game during my two weeks of no drinking and it was suite, with free beer and I drank water!
Poison Ivy is a good sexy costume!

I LOVE the costume challenge. I was thinking of being the chick from the Tron Movie and my husband was gonna be the guy...but I would also like to be a belly dancer so I can continue to work on my abs :p Definitely something sexy though!! I was Snookie last year, lol!!! That was fun!

Got in weights twice this week and will do third set Saturday. Eating is back on track and so is my head, FINALLY!!!

You all keep on rockin it!!! Let's finish the week off with a bang!!

My husband loves Tron, but I haven't seen it so I don't know what the costume would look like. Snookie would be a fun costume. I was Roller Girl once and it was fun to rollerskate around a bar.

    Love all the costumes!

Just found out I may be up at Notre Dame for Halloween weekend (the BF went there and his brother goes there now) so I will be in a college atmosphere and a ridiculous costume is a must!
