asjerven - I will still have 25% grains, I don't like to cut out full food groups, i like my bread and rice ;) Yes, lets share tips for sure!! I will have to try your quiche!

cutmd - I like your idea of not eating the strength cals back...I may copy you on that!

chuisle - you look fab in that dress!

Sounds like everyone is set for this next go round! Let's make the most of it!!!!

yes, Kate, you will be in my state! Did you say it was Steamboat? I have not been there for years but it should be beautiful this time of year. If you are in Denver and want to meet for a drink or a meal, let me know.
Jen, how will you figure 25%, like, roughly? or percentage of calories or just percentage of the plate or meals? Sounds reasonable. I need to mix up another quiche cuz I have been having oatmeal and kefir for breakfast.
BetterBalance, that sounds like a lot of fruit and vegetables, good for you-how do you work it all in? After two months of KISS I want to try Bodyrocks-have you tried it?
I did the KISS workout last night but I didn't get much stronger on anything:(

I really liked doing the 2 week challenge, so I'd like to continue with you ladies! For this upcoming 2 week period, I am borrowing from a couple people's goals, not because I have no inspiration but these are things that I have really been wanting to do better at. Anyhoo, my new goals are:
    1. consume at least 100g of protein a day
    2. Up my fresh fruit and veggie intake.

Last challenge really helped me cut my coffee habit out, and it's made a huge difference (350 empty calories worth)! Thank you guys soo much for starting this! Good luck everyone!

Well I missed an opportunity for veggies at lunch. Had chicken BBQ and usually have green beans as my side but was really hungry so went with the baked potato instead. Guess it's better than the mac and cheese I was eyeing. I have 4 more servings today. I'll probably have an apple later and no idea how I'll get 3 veggies in at dinner. Hmmmmm.....

    Woo, round 2! Go us...

Jenomaha - thanks! I rented it actually! Much better deal :)

Asjerven - I unfortunately I will be in and out of Denver this time around but since my cousin is getting married in Steamboat lives in Denver I hope to make it back soon and would love to meet an MFP friend in real life!

Also...don't worry if you didn't go up by much on KISS. DO try to make improvements but after the first rounds you're not going to be able to make the same weight jumps since you're getting closer to your *current* limit than you were before (as economists like to talk about, the law of diminishing returns). Think about dumbbells...you have to go up by 5 lbs on each arms...that's 10 lbs total. That's a lot for a woman and perhaps even 1.5 times the amount you're current repping. If I just can't move up in weight sometimes I make notes of how the weight feels. For instance, I'll write in my notes, felt strong all the way through right side one legged squats, leg side weaker. Even though I'm not adding weight, I'm noting my progress and moving towards the next progression of the move or more weight.

    Rogiefreida - good goals!

A big salad! a cup of greens, add cucumbers and tomatoes and you got three servings!

Good call! Or I may do a stir fry. I have some tofu I need to use too. Maybe also wilt a bunch of spinach. Maybe eat some baby carrots. The possibilities are endless!

asjerven, I plan on figuring 25% of TOTAL carbs, so, like I"m trying to stick to around 100 grams of carbs, and hoping for only 25 g from grains. I was able to have a 48 g carb day the other day and a 75 g day also. So maybe I'm carb cycling...I don't know, this is all experimental, lol!!! I guess I'll just have to see how this all goes! :ohwell: I'll keep ya updated

Doing an IF day! I'm leaving myself an 8hr window to eat, so probably 12-8.. I have a healthy lunch and then am going out to dinner so I'll get in all the calories I need :) How often should I do this to see results?? I think the other part of my challege is to really watch my portions, I think that this is one of the most important thing to learn for a life full of health!

did you read www.leangains.com? I think it's something you have to do pretty regularly, several days in a row? CutMD, can you jump in?
I got KISS tonight, oh those sumo deadlifts and bulgarian split squats, can't wait

ok, this carb thing is hard!!! If I keep my carbs low, my toal cal count is too low! The first day was the easiest and it's gone downhill since then, sigh :frown:

Asjerven, you're right. The leangains method involves a daily 8-10 hour eating window, although some people occasionally skip days. ESE involves not eating for about 24 hours 1-2 times per week. Then there are other variations on the theme, such as fast 5, which only gives you a 5 hour eating window. The advantage of leangains is it is simple enough to do everyday and allows you to save your calories for a few big meals instead a bunch of tiny ones.

How did KISS go? I hate bulgarian split squats....

OMG totally. It's a lot of work and planning to eat that low carb, especially the 75% thing, which I've honestly only kept in the back of my mind.

I haven't had enough time to read leangains yet, I'm hoping I'll actually have free time to do that this weekend after the bachelorette party I'm going to! I left an 8/8.5 hr window yesterday and I'm doing another 8 hr one today, not too hard!

I'm doing pretty good with my challenge this week. Less on the cardio side mostly because I've been busy. I swam 40 minutes (almost a mile) on Monday and it felt great. Tuesday I played golf but rode in the cart so don't count that for anything. Yesterday I rode my bike about a half an hour. So I'm only at 72 of 200 minutes and have 3 days left. Hmmm...... On the fruit and veggie front, I had 3 servings Monday, 4 on Tuesday and 5 yesterday so not too bad. Sounds like everyone is doing great!

KISS went ok, I was the same weights on dumbbell bench press-15 lbs, same on sumo deadlifts, 80 lbs-the first four feel alright but I am dying by the end. I went up to 20 lbs on the single-arm dumbbell rows and held 5lb weights for the bulgarian spluit squats but my left leg is clearly weaker on that. Instead of crocs I did planks, side/regular/other side and did 3 sets of nine.
I think I hate one-legged squats more than the bulgarian split squats!
Last night was a fail on the dinner because my friend and I made pizza on the grill and drank sangria.

Yeah! I was so close to buying it! I'll have to post the picture when I'm home. I'm getting one from Deb instead, have to have a fun dress for a bachelorette this weekend! The one I'm getting is a little short too, but I'm going to a casino in CT so no one will know me there :)

    ha! love it:laugh:
I have a few dressses that are vegas-only. Sometimes I even have clothes that I think, maybe I wish I was the person who could pull this off, but I am not so the thing never gets worn...
