Where are we with this? Sorry, I've lost track! I don't know about anyone else but I will be ready to get into focus next week. I think I want to try carb cycling.

Ok, I am back from convention and I am ready for the next challenge. I'm with chuisle about carb cycling. I want to continue working on my abs and maybe dropping 2% mor bodyfat. Either way, I don't want to stop. I have loved our little challenges and all of the ideas and support. May have to check out Amy's sexy girl workout...who deosn't want to be a sexy girl

Amy, jealous of your trip to vegas!!! You're gonna rock the strip!

Ha! well, where are we with this? I think we should regroup next week with the challenge. I have not tried carb cycling, maybe I should. Next week I am going to try 6 days a week working out-yikes! I might have to stick with the workout for two weeks before I try trying anything too extreme with my diet-you know, the brain has only so much self-control.
Speaking of, last night my foster dog ate the bottle of pills they gave me for her bad knees. I was so stressed out, I had a glass of wine and cheesecake!
Don't you find it hard to stick to anything when you are stressed out?

Well, I ordered a grill pack, I think that will help for me to have something to grill every night for dinner and focus on seasonal veggies and protein. I am also going to try and get to work early everyday so that I can go to the gym-no excuses. I need to buy a bunch of socks and sports bras too, since having clean stuff can also impede my ability to "dress out for gym"
I actually failed gym class in high school. Well, I ditched it so many times they said I could get an F or withdraw and retake it! So I did that, which meant I had to do gym again... It was horrible, we were on the block system so it was 90 mins long.

Haha! That's very similar to what I do (when I'm being good) get to work at 7 so I can leave by 4, go straight to the gym, then home by 5 or 6. It helps keep me on track.

Not good today though :( I was going to go into work at 8 since I can't work out this evening and run this morning. Didn't happen. Sleep happened. Next week! I think to think over my challenge and really commit!

I already scheduled a massage for my reward on August 3, 2 weeks after July 20, which is when my challenge will start. If folks want to pick a different date that is fine too.
My sister and nieces are visiting Aug 10-17, so I need strategies for working out then. Especially if we leave town.

Ok, I start back to a 2 week challenge today! I was so bad camping this weekend. My gut hurts and the scale reflects the damage, ugh :grumble: My fault though. So, weights 3 times a week, lower carb and carb cycling, and back to tracking...I haven't been tracking :( my abs are mushy again

    Time to get focused!

Last week I was at my lowest weight and today I weighted in 5.6 above that. Its water weight, so I am going to wait until Wednesday to weigh in/take BF I think so its a little more normalized and I can go from there. My guess is that I'm about 141 and up on BF due to less work outs over the past month. Probably 23% or a bit over.

    Goals:

    1. Carb Cycle - 2 low days, 3 medium days, 2 high days. 50-75 g on the low days, under 100 on the medium days and whatever I want on the high days. This is my first attempt to ever really eat low carb so I am giving myself leeway as I figure it out.

    2. 3 days of the sexy lady routine, 1 day of the body rock HIIT or other misc. work out, and 1 days of the rachel cosgrove 45 minute work out.

Also, this week I am cutting my calories to 1240, then next week I will be up to 1480 again. Etc.

    Let's do this!

Back from Vegas and I need to detox. My plan is three days of couch to 5k and the 3 days on 1 day off of Sexy Female. For diet I am going to try and stay under maintenance cals.
I better get to bed and get rested up for tomorrow! I am unprepared diet/foodwise.

I did the third sexy lady work out of the week today. Tomorrow I am hoping to do something cardio wise (maybe bodyrock tabata, we'll see how I feel) and Friday it is going to be Rachel Cosgrove's intense 45 work out.

I am starting day 3 of carb cycling. Monday and Tuesday both inadvertently turned into medium carb days instead of low ones! Even that was tough! Jenomaha, I am even more impressed and even shocked by people who do atkins! This is my first try but I can barely get the calories in with that little carbs. Ideas??

That said, I am doing exactly what I said I would and "figuring it out." I have a solid day with 61 carbs planned so hopefully I'll stick with it!

    How is everyone else doing??

Slacker alert. I've been terrible about being on the board. You guys are doing great. Hope this week is great for all of you as well.

My goals for the next two weeks are to stick with the program I had help laying out. I posed a question to Troutman (the guy from that lean people looking to get leaner' thread on his website and got some great feedback about strength training. I think I've been over-analyzing way too much so I'm just going to jump into what he suggested with 3 days on with strength training and 3 days on with metabolic training. He guided me to some specific plans that helped kind of clear the fog since I was overloading myself with that darn google. Metabolic wise- I've been doing 30 minute runs to try and build up endurance for a 5k that I'm hoping to sign up for and then finishing that off with either bodyrock or sprints. Trying to avoid too much 'steady cardio' while still building endurance. Oh the joys of finding a balance!!

The other thing I'm reading up on and going to give a go once I've read through everything is the leangains. I'm hoping that I can start this at the end of the week and give it a full go for 2 weeks before making a decision.

Hope all your goals are going great.

I have good intentions but I do not feel well. I feel carsick, basically, and I am not sure if I really overdid it in Vegas or if something different is going on but I wish I didn't fell so nauseated.

Hi everyone...I have also been slacking a little but have started my 2 week challenge on Monday (and, in true slacker form, I am posting on Wednesday  ) .

Goal #1 is a minimum of 8 cups of water a day, but shooting for 10 in an effort to flush out some water weight from TOM. My other goal is to get 5 workouts in a week. I've been slacking on that end, and doing about 3. (Granted, I've thrown in a couple of longer day hikes and a Zumba party, but still).

So far, so good. And it's hump day....so happy hump day everyone!

Chuisle...It is hard but I am getting better at it. The nuts, peanut butter and protein shakes really help me with cals...but still not getting ALL of them. I notice a big difference with the lower carbs for sure though and love the results from it.

Asjerven - so sorry you don't feel well :( Hope you enjoyed your time in Vegas though!!!

Rogiefrieda - woot woot, Zumba Party!!! I have a Masterclass next Friday and can't wait to party!!!

mamareese - what metabolic training are you doing?

Ok ladies, let's whoop this challenge's *kitten*!!!

jenomaha- Going with bodyrock.tv work outs for the 'metabolic' for the majority. His definition of metabolic training was pretty broad but was the term 'metabolic training' was the simplest definition so I'm just trying to switch up the straight cardio of increasing my length of runs with something shorter but more intense. I'm still new to understanding all the terms and defintions thus my google overload at times!!

I feel better today, I took it easy last night. tonight I am thinking I should try to squeeze in a run before sushi with friends. I could try sexy female at home but I don't have the ball or the bands...

Count for the day: 76 g of carbs, 36 g of fat, 111 g of protein.

    WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!

Other victory: for my miscellaneous workout today I really didn't want to do it and was going to skip and instead I went to the gym and biked while I studied GRE flashcards. Yay :)

Happy Friday Tomorrow! How is everyone else's challenge?

    Amy, glad you're feeling better!

    chuisle, great job!!!

As for me I did a great job loading up my crabs on my high carb day and burned over 700 in cardio  Coulda made a couple of better choices, but I've been SO strict for so long, it wont hurt, too bad, lol!! I'll be back at it tomorrow!

    Keep it going ladies!

I did my week 5 couch to 5k last night but it was tough. My tummy is not back to normal, I think I have food poisoning or maybe the noral virus (sp?). unpleasant.
I really want to work out tonight, though, I feel like I have to earn that massage I have scheduled for August 3:tongue:
Sounds like everyone is doing really well! I will have to try...

I have no clue what my challenge has been, the weddings made me lose sight of what to do! I need to think of something to start next week. I would start today but I got a tetanus shot 2 days ago and cant really lift my arm above shoulder height! Hopefully that will go away soon though :)

Everyone seems to be doing great! Great job!!
Amy - I hope you feel better soon! Take it easy until you are!
Jen & Kate - great job on the carbs!

I have a run & a body rock to get in today. Looking forward to it (aside from the heat) Took a hike with the kids today and enjoyed a little family 'exercise' time. It's not easy hiking with a 35lb kid on your hip. LoL.

No new bodyrock posted that I saw today but I didn't do the full out one from the 20th (just the squat challenge) so I figure I'll do that after my run.

I told DH I'm going to have to start the leangains ASAP the longer I think things out the more I worry myself that I'm not 'choosing' the right approach. Reality is, if I don't feel right- I just stop it. No big loss in that right?! So leangains starting at 8 tonight and that leaves me with a first meal of noon tomorrow- can't be too hard considering with temps in the high 90s I'm forcing myself to eat today!! DH has some BCAAs left over that I can use until I decide about that. Here goes nothing. LoL>

I did my first day of sexy female workout last night. I am not sure I know what I am doing on the reverse hyper. It didn't feel as intense as the kiss workout but I will stick with it for a month or so. Today's workout doesn't require me to go to the gym, just the supermans and then a run so it fits well with couch to 5k and tomorrow will be a rest from couch to 5k and I'll probably have to go to the gym for the romanian deadlift.
I posted this on the "not that heavy thread" so sorry for the repetition to those who are reading both.
    How's the weekend going?
I feel a lot better. Went to dinner last night and slept in, it was great.

I did Day 2, well about to go for the run, but I did the supermans, that is tough but I thought it was 8 on each side so when it was 4 I was relieved and it was ok, I do start to shake a little at the end.

1st day Leangains not so bad. BCAAs taste like crap but it could be worse. lol. Got in strength training. Tomorrow's supposed to be rest day. Keep pushin.

Glad you're doing better Amy!! Great job with the workouts!

Mamareese, I agree...BCAA's are nasty!!! I put a couple of lemons slices in my water bottle with it and it helps a little.

I TOTALLY blew it last night and scale is reglecting it today. not to my surprise. I need to be 100% on starting today because my masterclass is Friday and I wanna rock a cute outfit...oh the vanity,

I bought all kinds of veggies yesterday and 3lbs of chicken, so I am gonna be ready to face the week!!! Bring it!

Have a wonderful Sunday ladies!!! Let's set this challenge on fire!:explode:

thanks for the advice, I'll try the lemons. Today was a rest day but stuck with the leangains until the 12pm cut off. It's definitely more a mental thing because I'm not actually 'hungry' unless I'm near food and think about it. Tomorrow is a metabolic day-going to check the bodyrock site for a new workout. Good luck all.
