    shellzbellz,
Do you cover that distance just walking? If so, how long does it take you? Do you use a machine or walk about? At my speed, 8 miles would take me almost three hours, IF I could maintain my pace ( but I have short, fat, stubby legs and can only go 3.5 mph, but not for a long period of time). I envy you.

Added another 3.5 miles the past 2 days, up to 50.5 - 9 more days, if I push myself for 3 miles each day, I should hit my goal...

    Hello CRody44...

It is time consuming, but I have been trying do two intervals, one before work and another after. I use a treadmill and mostly walk but have short intervals of running :grumble: Today I was able to get in a total of 7.2 miles in two hours total time. I like to walk at 3.5 pace, at least you are doing it...keep up your good work.

CRoddy44, it may seem counterintuitive, but if you shorten your stride and use your arms to help propel you forward, you will be able to increase your speed.

    7.7 miles this morning.

flausa, I’ve noticed that when I want to pick up my heart rate, I will swing my arms a little further/faster. I think this causes me to shorten but quicken my stride to keep up with my arms. Thanks

Good Morning! Felt a little sluggish today so I decreased time/distance this a.m....total of 3 miles in 52 minutes. Looking forward to picking up some distance this evening.

The Bride let me sleep in ‘til 8 this morning, then off to the Farmer’s Market, then to Macy’s to pick up a pair of diamond earrings that I bought my wife, then took a quick trip around the mall. I needed a rest anyway.

16 min. two sec., .54 mile, 2 mph. (RunKeeper)

I can sympathise with that - when I started I walked at around your rate. I persevered, walking regularly, and now do 3.5 hours an hour easily. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you speed up? Hope so - good luck!
