    shellzbellz,
Do you cover that distance just walking? If so, how long does it take you? Do you use a machine or walk about? At my speed, 8 miles would take me almost three hours, IF I could maintain my pace ( but I have short, fat, stubby legs and can only go 3.5 mph, but not for a long period of time). I envy you.

Added another 3.5 miles the past 2 days, up to 50.5 - 9 more days, if I push myself for 3 miles each day, I should hit my goal...

    Hello CRody44...

It is time consuming, but I have been trying do two intervals, one before work and another after. I use a treadmill and mostly walk but have short intervals of running :grumble: Today I was able to get in a total of 7.2 miles in two hours total time. I like to walk at 3.5 pace, at least you are doing it...keep up your good work.

CRoddy44, it may seem counterintuitive, but if you shorten your stride and use your arms to help propel you forward, you will be able to increase your speed.

    7.7 miles this morning.

flausa, I’ve noticed that when I want to pick up my heart rate, I will swing my arms a little further/faster. I think this causes me to shorten but quicken my stride to keep up with my arms. Thanks

Good Morning! Felt a little sluggish today so I decreased time/distance this a.m....total of 3 miles in 52 minutes. Looking forward to picking up some distance this evening.

The Bride let me sleep in ‘til 8 this morning, then off to the Farmer’s Market, then to Macy’s to pick up a pair of diamond earrings that I bought my wife, then took a quick trip around the mall. I needed a rest anyway.

16 min. two sec., .54 mile, 2 mph. (RunKeeper)

I can sympathise with that - when I started I walked at around your rate. I persevered, walking regularly, and now do 3.5 hours an hour easily. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you speed up? Hope so - good luck!

lindaj07, I started exercise walking on the 6th, at 2.72 MPH and am now up to 3.44 MPH. I hope to be up to 3.5 on a regular basis by August.

I made my July goal of 600 minutes today, at 601! I walked with The Bride and the dogs today, for 31 min. 57 sec, 1.54 miles at a slower pace of 2.89 MPH (RunKeeper) and burned 300 calories (Polar F11).

I also met my weight loss goal for the week of 2 lbs., 3rd week in a row. I’m going to celebrate with a nice tall glass of ice water!

Looking to be a busy week ahead and wanting to make sure I get my walks in, so I went tonight rather than hoping to have time in the morning. 5.3 more miles down! Still going to have to work hard to make my target this week, but these days I like a challenge!

    35 min. 50 sec, 2.06 miles, 3.45 MPH (RunKeeper), 509 calories burned (Polar F11)

I averaged 3.45 MPH today, at an average heart rate of 118 BMP. I’m going to try to get it up to an average of 120 BPM and see if that will get me up to an average of 3.5 MPH. These stumpy little legs haven’t moved this fast in quite a while.

Hi. I'm hopelessly behind on tracking although I took a lot of wonderful walks while I was on vacation in Tahoe. I don't think there's anywhere more beautiful. I walked to the lake almost every day (3 miles round trip). I'll hit it again in August. It's so hot here (high 90's), it might have to be at the gym though. I miss Tahoe and the mid-70's temps! I just may head back up there!

250425 and over 10,000 today makes 260000+ Yikes! I'd need to average over 16500 steps a day for the next 5 days... Its possible, not likely, but just barely possible...

    ;)
