I did! 35 minutes today! It was one of the hardest workouts I've ever had... Probably because the neighborhood is pretty hilly, and I'm not quite sure how to use my gears yet.

I did about 37 minutes today (7/4). Rode from my house to my in-laws' house -- 8.25 miles.

Who rode today, 7/4? Let us know! I rode only 42 easy minutes in the neighborhood with my husband. It was fun. He never rides with me (almost never) because I'm so slow and he's super fast, but he rode his hybrid and we did my hilly neighborhood loop with a spare bit off into another (flatter) neighborhood at a conversational pace (except on the uphills).

Is it too late th join in this challenge?

I am currently training for RAGBRAI (registers annual great bike ride across Iowa) that rolls the last week of July. We will ride for a week and cover 454 miles. We just heard that Lance will be jumping for a couple of days so I will be keeping an eye out for him amongst the 10,000 riders.

I have ridden over 1600 miles this year getting ready for this ride. I'm not very fast-average tends to be around 14 mph but stil loving my time on my bike. I try to get in a ride most mornings before I go into work and then get longer rides in on the weekend.

Here's my times/miles for the weekend:

7/2-55 miles in 3 hours and 47 minutes
    7/3-50 miles-3 hours and 33 minutes
    7/4-39 miles-2 hours and 31 minutes

Welcome, hawkeyegal! That's some major mileage! Glad to have you join!

OK, who's biked today, Tuesday, July 5th? :o) I'm trying to tear myself away from the live coverage of the Tour de France before the temps skyrocket. Currently 76, but going up to 100. :blushing: <

    Who rode today, 7/5?

I did four laps of the hilly neighborhood this morning in 1 hour 19 minutes. It's hot out there. I can't imagine riding in the afternoon (It's 103 right now).

    Keep looking!

Meanwhile, here's an interesting article about what Thor Hushovd eats in a day at the Tour de France:

All those Clif Bars, Clif Bloks and Clif Gels. Ick.

Going to have to drop out of this challenge, I think. I really want to focus on C25K and the 30DS.
  • Oh, MAN! Didn't see this post until now. Since the Tour started I've only ridden 4 hours and 20 minutes total. I just bought my first road bike last week (in my avatar!) and still getting used to it.

    Who rode today, 7/6?

I had a very short ride this morning due to a dead AC and impending dental work. Bleah.

    7/9-got in 20 miles in 82 minutes

Forgot to set my alarm last night so I missed my morning ride and ended up going for a run. Kills me that I can ride for hours on end but running a couple of miles kicks my tail!

I have started to suck down those Gels during my longer rides to help with the leg cramps as the bananas wear off. I have found a few favors that I like-plus they are pretty handy as I don't have to stop. Also tried some of the sport beans and the chews but the chews don't do so well in 90 degree temps!

Is anyone else envious watching the tour--those guys are cranking at over 25 mph and I wanna do a victory dance when I am able to crank at 17 mph for more than a few miles at a time!

Keep up the good work everyone!

Ended up having to take 7/6 as a rest day, dangit. Our usual Wednesday night dinner potluck with friends ran WAY long, tonight. I think I'm going to have to start doing my ride in the mornings on Wednesdays, just in case. Wasn't planning on a rest day this early in the game!

Keep up the great work, guys!
