    7/9-got in 20 miles in 82 minutes

Which date is this, Hawkeye? 7/6?

Yeah that should have said 7/6-sorry about that!

In for about 45 minutes for 7/7
  • Hawkeye, what kind of gels do you get? I want to try some but not if they're nasty!

    Who rode today, 7/7?

I did two hours of mostly flattish neighborhoods and tried a few new roads. I think I rode farther than I have been doing in 2 hours, but it's hard to say as the imapmyride app on my iPhone kills the battery around two hours.

    SO sad for me

Thursday July 7th.....no miles or minutes...guess these are my two rest days

Got in 60 minutes for 7/7. For days that we say are rest days, could that be noted on the list? I don't like seeing a missing date by my name. My first rest day was 7/6.

I'm tracking my minutes for each day on a calendar. I LOVE seeing the days fill up.

I have tried both the Clif and GU brands. For the GU-I like the tri-berry and orange and for the Clif-I like the strawberry. They have a good taste (at least to me) but you have to get used to the thickness of them-be ready to drink some water after you suck one down(that has helped me). I have steered clear of any of the coffee or chocolate flavors as those sound awful to me. I still would rather have a good ol' banana but these are a great hands free alternative for me anyway. I have tried some of the GU chomps but they tend to clump up in the heat and are really sticky so I'm not a fan of those during the rides-the sport beans are at least easier to eat. Haven't tried any of the Clif bloks.

    Who rode today, 7/8?

I rode the same as yesterday (2 hours) plus one more neighborhood (so a bit farther) but the imapmyride app on my iphone recorded nothing. Hmph. I ordered a Garmin 500 (on the advice of my husband who has a 305) last night. Can't wait until it gets here!

If there was a sleeping smiley, I'd use it for the rest days, but I don't see one. This one  is a bit too pathetic, don't you think?

  • I rode today too. Got a late start though, and ran into traffic and construction. Ugh. When it took an hour to go seven miles I gave up and rode back home!

Got in 32 minutes, today (7/8). I feel like I did the bare minimum, but my average speed was 18 mph, so I don't feel so bad.

    We are on page 3!!!

    Who rode today, 7/8?

I'm going to do the minimum of 30, probably, tomorrow and Sunday, as I have a cranky left knee today. :grumble:

7/8-in for 95 minutes of riding in two different sessions. Covered about 24 miles. Rode out to the edge of town this morning before I could see how foggy it was out so I just turned around and rode home and went out for a run.

I need to try and ride about 75 miles tomorrow as one of my last big tune ups before RAGBRAI but right now that seems crazy.....my legs are sore from playing softball last night.

7-9-in for 20 miles in about 82 minutes.

Bailed on the plans to ride big today....the legs were not happy so I decided to just take it easy. Hope everyone had a great ride today!

Oh, I wish I had seen this sooner. I ride most days. 105 minutes today.

Hawkeyegal--I am in Des Moines. Not riding RAGBRAI, although people try to talk us into it all the time!

    Who rode today, 7/9?

    Welcome, knoring!

I only rode 30 minutes today, but rode hard using easy gears to rest the knees a bit. Might do something similar in the morning.
