After 2:00 pm EST I will determine our biggest loser for the week and tell you what our new challenge will be for this week. Great work everyone!
My scale is DEAD we have to take send it back to the manufactor. It did make me feel good though because I stepped on a scale the other night at at BBQ and I was at a decent weight. That was the first time I had weighed in 3 weeks and it was at night with a VERY full tummy. Hopefully I can join you guys again soon.

    Hey everyone!

Im checking in quick because I have been on vacation visiting my parents. You know what that means ALOT of eating, NO working out. I was traveling yesterday so I wasn't able to get to a scale, and now Im scared to go near a scale til next weigh in Monday. But PLEASE dont count me out of this month! I'll need everyones motivation even more now! Hope everyone is great and happy with their results!

This is a first! We have a three way tie for first place! The following three people all lost 3 pounds this week: millietner, Carrriebear, and amsparky. To determine who picks our weekly challenge I decided to go by who lost the high %BW. Therefore, millietner is the weekly winner with 2.52% of her body weight gone. I will check with her on what the weekly challenge will be.

Our 2nd place person this week is....Zoe67 with 2.8 pounds gone and 1.63% of her Body Weight MIA.

Our 3rd place person is a two way tie....Chii85 lost 2.6 pounds and 1.06% of BW and Nikkiairforcewife lost 2.6 pounds and 1.25% of BW.

Good job everyone! Keep up the hard work this week. Everyone keep getting me your numbers even if you missed the cut off for the top weights this week. I did it a little different this month and instead of typing out no check in I just change the color to green. It saved me lots of time. I am still missing 21 people or 28% of the group.

"I would love a two-part challenge, two things I did this past week when I lost 3lbs/2.5%.

Firstly, try a new food or one that you think you hate.
Secondly, try a new kind of exercise or one that you think you hate.

I tried yam, and love it, and running, which I hate but can do better than I thought! The reason for this challenge is that doing new things forces your body to adapt, which can really bump up your weight loss. Whenever I have slowed or stalled in loss, eating or exercising differently has worked great, and sometimes you get a bonus of a new positive thing out of it"

    This is from your winner.

I lost a pound this morning when I discovered my scale was off! Feels like cheating, but I'll take it anyway!

    As far as the challenge:
    - Try a new food: not sure about this one. I gave up spinach 3 weeks ago when I found a dead cricket at the bottom of the package I had been eating from all week. I don't know that I'm ready to try it again. Every time I think 'spinach' I see the cricket staring at me.
    - Try a new exercise: I reintroduced Walking Away the Pounds videos this week and plan to start 30 Day Shred next week

Funny you should swear off spinach when I finally made myself buy the spinach and chicken lean pizza pocket today

As for my new exercise, I haven't been running outside for a long time but yesterday I started c25k and ran/walk down the road. I've always hated the idea of running because I felt I used to be too heavy and I also have asthma, so running outside requires extra strength from me. It certainly wasn't easy yesterday but I discovered that I could complete it!

I know that I am too late for the chart this week, but wanted to get this down. I have not been very good this week, so I guess this is a decent weigh-in. Had a minor medical procedure last week that has really gotten me in a funk. Hoping to do better this week.

Yay Amber! Congrats starting c25K. When I started I was pretty sure I wouldn't make it long due to knee issues, but it's going well. I'm slow, but I make the times. Once I "graduate" in 2 weeks I think I'll start working on the pace. Keep at it, and don't be discouraged if you need to repeat a day or a week when you get to the longer runs.
