There are books I can read over and over, usually once a year: all of Terry Pratchett's Discworld series (I ADORE him) and Jane Austen's P&P and S&S (not keen on the others).

Plus authors I always buy/borrow: Ben Elton, Bill Bryson, Nick Hornby

And those I always buy for comfort reads: Marian Keyes, Sophie Kinsella, Lauren Weisberger

I also recently read Nora Ephron's Heartburn which was brilliant so I'd like to see what else she's written.
  • Jeanette Winterson, Chuck Palahniuk, Carolyn Forche, Anthony Burgess, Dostoyevsky, Robert Creely, John Piper, I could go for days. It's really hard to pick just one author out of so many greats throughout history!
  • Jane Austen if I couldn't read anybody else ever. My kindle is full of Kate Atkinson and CJ Sansom books so i reckon they must be my favoruites right now.

Richard Dawkins & Sam Harris. If you ever want to understand science but are afraid you lack the mental capacity, Dawkins explains stuff in simplistic excellence. Harris also puts alot of things in perspective.

Otherwise, Richard Bach, Cormac McCarthy, and Stephen Ambrose.
