This past week has been a very trying and difficult week, I am just going to focus on getting back into eating regularly and exercising.

Not to belittle your circumstances, but if I could lose two pounds every time I had a tough week, I'd be pretty stoked. Good job!

It would be fine if it had been from working out and eating well, reality is I have not moved since Friday - reason for the weight loss not eating. When I was stressed before I use to over eat, now instead I am not eating anything. What is on my dairy is what I took to eat at lunch or supper reality is I was lucky if I took two bites of anything. This morning made myself breakfast had one bite of the cereal and gave the rest of it to the dog. Not healthy, I need to get into a better place emotionally and starting eating and exercising.

Well, it's only three months now till Christmas! I hope everyone will be able to reach their goals by that time!

I lost three pounds this week, but I don't really feel like I did that well. I still have to work on eating less carbs, sugar, and sodium. I guess that should be one of my goals for the coming weeks.

I do think I've got this water thing down, now. On weekdays, I easily get 10-14 cups per day, but weekends seem to be a bit harder. I'm just busy catching up on errands, housework, etc. etc. etc. and don't seem to make the time. But during the week, when it's just sitting there on my desk, I'm chugging all the time.

I am terrible for staying up way too late, then when I do go to bed, I usually wake up several times during the night and have the hardest time to go back to sleep (I'm kind of a chronic insomniac). So another goal for this week will be to go to bed by 11 each night, and be asleep by 11:30. (I always read for a bit before falling asleep.) My ultimate goal is to go to bed by 10 or 10:30 and be asleep before 11:00, but baby steps.

And, tonight I'm back to my Aquacise. Not that it was by choice to not be going. That's just the way it's done here. There are four sessions per year (one each season) and there are usually anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks between sessions. I just wish it would be an annual thing that you pay once a year and go twice a week for the whole year. I so look forward to it every week. It's so much fun that it's not even like working out, so if I get some benefit from it physically, that's just a bonus!

Congrats to those who have had victories (big or small) this week, and for those still struggling, please keep up the great work and you will eventually be rewarded (just as brobin41101 is now seeing her hard work for so long is starting to pay off.) Thanks to everyone for the friendship, motivation, and encouragement. I LOVE this group!!! Have a great week, y'all!!!

I hear you, when the scale says other than you feel up or down. I know I am down this week but feel UGH and bloated, so I can empathize.

Hello everyone!!! I hope you all had a better week than me?? As you can see I GAINED WEIGHT!! UGH!!!! Yes, I'm going backwards. I must re-focus and get back on track this week!!! Also, I need to drink more water this week. I must say I am so proud of you all for your determination and dedication!!! You ALL inspire and motivate me! I will check in later to see how everyone is doing with the weigh in today!!!!! Have a wonderful week girls!!!!

It is funny how much difference water makes! Sometimes one step back moves us two step forward, if this helps to get you refocused then awesome!!!

Stayed the same again this week but no a surprise as I have not tracked a thing this week. Hopefully a loss next week as I am back on track for recording my food and I will keep drinking the water.

Recording food is so important! It will get you right back on track. Have a great week.

Monday morning check in. No loss yet.
    Here are last weeks goals.
    1. drink more than 8 glasses of water a day - Yes.
    2. make healthy meals at home – That's my plan for the week.
    3. start adding weight training in – Yes, I started today. The pool at the gym is closed so no favorite aquafit teacher anyway. When she is back I think I will do both. I plan to do weight training on Wednesday too.
    4. don't miss Zumba this week! - Was not up for it last Friday but plan to go this week.
I am feeling well finally and am starting back into an exercise schedule.
    5. get enough sleep - I slept in today but I need to stop pushing late nights.
    So now I will add
    6. get a rest day from exercise once a week. Yesterday I had a rest day. However this is not my strong point.

Sabrina, hang in there. Going on vacation always seems to throw things off, even if you were staying on track. And certainly, with the physical stuff you are having to deal with, matters can only get complicated. Be patient and forgiving with yourself and keep your focus. Things will get better.

I forgot to mention an NSV this week. I finally broke down and went clothes shopping (which I hate to do) since my pants have been threatening to fall off. I purchased a couple of pants two sizes smaller (snug, but fitting) and a couple of tops in my original size. I cannot recall having ever lost two sizes in my bottoms, and not in my tops, but I am patient and I would much rather climb into skinnier pants than a slimmer top. My tops do feel better, so now I can wear a few in the closet that I wouldn't wear before.

What a terrific NSV! Must have felt good.

Kristel Congrats on the weight loss and good job with the water :drinker: . I can so relate to the sleep issue. I like to read too. I have been pushing my bed time too much as well  . With the school year I am hoping that the whole family has a better schedule. I love Aquafit too and usually my club even has it on holidays but right now they closed the pool for maintenance :grumble: . Enjoy your session.

    Thanks, Keri.

Getting up to pee anywhere from two to four times in the night doesn't help with the sleep issue either. :ohwell: But my bladder must be adjusting because periodically I sleep through the night without getting up to use the bathroom now. I hope you're schedule calms down now that fall is here and that your pool opens soon so you can get back to your aquafit class. My session was great - got another one tomorrow night!

 yes....yes I did~ I lost a pound. 190 this week. Yea, me. I've been drinking water to wash away my sins of sodium. I went to Applebees at 8 pm last night for dinner after the gym. :noway:~ usually in my pj's by then. I had a great dinner, veggies and a steak with peppercorns off the under 550 calorie menu. ( hubby won a $55 gift card at a Chinese auction this weekend:bigsmile: ) Of coarse I came home and looked up the sodium and proceeded to drink a quart of water before bed, because I KNEW this morning was my weigh in. And it worked. Now mind you on Saturday before the margaritas ( no salt ) I did see 189 on the scale, so I know it's in my future. Just not this week.

My NSV this week- I tried on some leather pants from 10 years ago that were hiding in the bottom of my closet ( can't bear to get rid of them- for reasons I don't know, and who wears leather pants anymore?? LOL  , but it was good for a giggle ) Anyhow- I got them up and zipped. Mind you, it wasn't a good look- but they were on and zipped without lying on the bed and using a hanger to get this zipper up. ( am I the only one that did this in the late 70's ?? ) How on earth did we breathe in those painted on jeans without the invention of spandex in them ?? So that's it - my weekly nsv.

Congrats on the losses for you gals that did. Keep your chin up for those that didn't. I've read all the posts and glad to see some people making their way back to the board. I know life is life. Just know that we are here for you :smooched: I'll check in with ya later today. Have to go feed the children at school. They need their breakfast.

    Have a great day !!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post my weight yesterday. No change  , but I'm not giving up. I just have to focus and start exercising. I just can't seem to get this through my thick head. My sciatic nerve is acting up, my oh my, that sure can hurt some days. I'm hoping when I get on my treadmill tonight that it will help. I keep thinking alot of my aches and pains are mostly due to the extra 50 lbs I'm lugging around.
    Have a good week everyone!

    I'm not giving up.
    Good for you!

Some days feel terrible. I don't know why, they just do. I remind myself that food does not fix the problem and go drink another glass of water.

My back and sciatic are bothering me quite a bit lately. I try to take it easy on myself exercise wise. I do nothing too hard. I'll walk slow and focus on gentle stretches and physical therapy exercises.

I find posting to MFP helpful too!

    The importance of water.

I may write my first blog on this topic, but I need to share something scary with you ladies.... My ex-husband's wife, Laura (who I truly care about) just spent 2-1/2 days in the hospital. Last week Thursday, she took her second spin class and pushed herself hard. She isn't much for drinking water, but she drank some during class and a little afterwards. Friday and Saturday, she didn't drink much, either - mostly because it's just not a part of her normal day. Sunday morning she woke up and had no feeling in her feet and she couldn't walk. Her liver and kidneys were shutting down - a direct result of pushing TOO HARD and not hydrating herself. It is very possible that she did some permanent damage and will have to make changes in her life, including no alcohol. Not even that casual glass of wine that she enjoyed.

There are 2 morals to this story....... #1 being active and getting exercise are vital to our goals of living healthy, but BABY STEPS are important, especially when trying a new activity. #2 water, water, water. Enough said.

I hope that you are all having a wonderful, healthy, "I'm doing this for me" kind of day!

Gwen, I am sorry to hear your back is bothering you so much.:flowerforyou: Walking is excellent for your back. I had the same problems quite a few years back and walking 1 mile everyday truly helped. That and my physical therapy exercises they taught me while I was hospitalized. Building your lower body and core really help. You are on the right track. It took me almost a year... but I finally got better. I wouldn't wish back problems on anyone....It is the most miserable kind of pain. :grumble: Hope you start to feel better soon.

okay , before I forget...I tried a new food this week. I had Near East Taboule wheat salad mix. Some sort of grain, the ingredients list bulgur wheat, salt , parsley, onions, molasses, garlic, spearmint, honey and black pepper. Like all other box things you mix the grain with water and add seasoning packet. This suggest to add olive oil , lemon juice crumbled feta and cucumbers and a few other things to make a greek salad over lettuce greens.

I just threw it in the fridge and let set overnight without adding anything. Then I tried it cold. Not bad. I love spicy things, I also prefer plain oatmeal. This would rank with the plain oatmeal. I could see eating it again with the suggested things that are on the box. It's only 80 calories ( 120 prepared with the oil ) 5 gms fiber, 3 gms protein. I had made 2egg whites, 1 egg with red pepper , hot banana pepper, onions and turkey bacon and threw my serving in with that. Weird I know, but I love to throw that kind of stuff together especially with a fridge full of leftovers and it's 7:30 at night.

Just wanted to share with you before I forgot. It had been one of my goals to keep trying new things.

Have a great Thursday !! Move it and lose it. :smooched:

That sounds interesting! I need to be more proactive about trying new things, too. I tend to get in a rut and then everything's boring. So THANKS for sharing your new food with us! I'll have to see if my local store carries such a thing (probably not - we're a very small community). But, my next trip to Green Bay is this weekend for the Packers game and I can check out the "big city" stores!

Does anybody else have some out-of-the-ordinary foods that they swear by? Satisfies you (taste and nutrition)? Good for storing in a desk drawer at work? I'd love to pick up some new things!

    Hey Leila,
Thanks for the inspiration, thanks to your post today on the way home from work i got something for my dinner as the gang were out this evening at football.
So with your success in mind i got some Moroccan style couscous which i had never tasted before, also some pasta with spinach a vegetable which i also never eaten, both were delicious. these food may seem a bit every day to you sophisticated ladies, but i was reared on over cooked meat mashed spuds with 2 veg mostly carrots & peas. lol god bless my mom.
Leila I love you posts you are a real straight talker, and your weight loss has been fantastic.
good luck on the rest of this journey,
