Busy working on the chart but...
gmomlyn - I actually worded it wrong... Measurement isn't going to be incorporated into the chart. For a few of those that are ditching the scale for a bit, I'll just put inches they lose where their weight loss would go.
No problem. When I first thought you were going to incorporate measurement into the chart, I thought that it would be so much more work for you, considering how much work you are doing for us in this challenge to begin with. Thanks again.
Also....I had my first NSV yesterday...well, actually not my first since I have noticed that some of my jeans that were tight in August are fitting me now. But yesterday one of my daughters and her husband were here picking up 2 of their children who slept over the night before. I mentioned that I wanted to run to the store, so I was going to go change. Then my SIL told me something like "yeah, you'd better change into your own pants. Whose jeans are you wearing anyway?" I asked him what he was talking about, and he told me that the jeans I had on were all baggy in the butt on me, so he figured I was wearing someone else's pants. I told him he was my favorite SIL. He asked if that was ever in question, lol. :laugh:0 -

Hey Kristen-- Thank you for being so supportive of those of us who are going scale-free. I'm excited and a little nervous not to have the scale there for accountability, so the measurements tracking will be really helpful. Thanks again.
Also -- congrats on the losses this week!! Keep up the great work. So many of you have already met your mini goals -- how exciting!
For those of you who feel stuck: I know people have mixed opinions on Jillian Michaels, but if you have a positive opinion, I HIGHLY recommend listening to her podcast. She has an episode called "Debunking the plateau (05/06/2011)," where she shares some awesome information for those of you who feel 'stuck.' Basically she makes the point that our bodies get used to everything -- a certain workout schedule, a certain calorie level, etc. Once the body starts getting used to that status quo, it stops losing weight -- it wants to keep things the same. So she suggests making a change to your workout schedule or eating habits to change the status quo a little and get your body losing again. Do an extra day of lifting, or one fewer day of cardio.. or one more day of cardio and one fewer day of lifting. Eat 100 fewer calories or 100 extra calories. Change something up and your body should start losing again!
Anyway, her podcast is available through iTunes. That episode is not the only valuable episode -- all of them have some little nugget of information that has helped me through this process.0 -

I weighed 147 on 9/23 and haven't done anything to change that. :-( Exercised, stayed in green numbers, water, etc. But I did hurt my back yesterday so who knows.

Busy working on the chart but...
gmomlyn - I actually worded it wrong... Measurement isn't going to be incorporated into the chart. For a few of those that are ditching the scale for a bit, I'll just put inches they lose where their weight loss would go.
FitJ1210 - What I'm going to do with those of you who are ditching the scale for a bit is... Starting now, take your measurements today and then when you lose more inches, give me that measurement and I'll put it where your weigh in would be. After you give me that measurement, it would be like starting new until you do your next measurements. In other words, if you lose 2" from today until next Monday, I would put the 2" in the "this week's weight" box. But for you, you would know that it is more like this week's inches lost. Sorry for the confusion from me before. That's all it will be though. Just a way to show that you are being accountable while you've gone off the scale. Starting from this date also, I'll keep a total of your inches lost starting from this point. You don't have to measure every week, I'll just put it in as it's given.
Everyone, you either have to decide whether you're going to do scale or measurements. Please... not both. Also, if it seems that your weigh in is always better on Friday, why not do your weigh ins on Friday every week? That's fine with me. As long as your weigh in is the same day of the week, every week, that works.
bluiz13 - Sorry but I don't want to do it the way you posted. I don't feel that it is fair to the ones that commit to a weigh in every week for the three of you to not post an accountability of some kind for the next 5 charts. I'm not saying that you have to measure every week, but I think there needs to be measuring and posting sometimes over the next 5 weeks.
Kristen So for example.. I took my measurements... they are 100 inches total. Next Monday 10/03 I measure again my total is 95 inches, I lost 5 inches. Thats what I would post? 10/03 5 inches0 -

Darn I missed the cutoff for the chart! Oh well! On a side note, I didn't rush down in the morning to report my weight loss because I wasn't really happy with it this AM. On Saturday, I weighed 249.5 (and I was tickled pink) but this AM I was 250.5 (I know your will weight fluctuate). I am SO glad I'm in this challenge!!! If I wouldn't log in to report my weight tonight I would still be bummed it wasn't as good as Saturday. However, by logging in this challenge I realize in one week I lost 2 pounds!!! That's awesome! Thank you for Kcthatme thank you for the chart and organizing.

Hey nice work!0 -
Great dedication to all the women who lost this week:bigsmile:
I see there has been a lot of talk about either weighing or measuring.
I will still go on the scale as I have been for over a year. It keeps me
accountable and keeps me going.
I hope to see some better results as the weekend will be stress free
and nothing going on to deter my efforts.
Good Luck everyone on next week's challenge.
Sorry to see the ladies go that did not enter their weights, I hope you
can keep up with your journey and join in again. :drinker:0 -
amazing job losers - stressed1mom, vallejos6, kcthatsme, alisons7598, shickam062604 and gmomlyn...
everyone is doing great...the fact that so many are involved in the thread and the chatter and the challenges is wonderful....keep up the hard work and the lbs and inches will be off in no time....i dropped my scale off to my neighbor this morning and told her i couldnt have it back until halloween - she laughed and said okay....she wont let me use it lol until then...last time i gave it to her i went over in between the time i wasnt supposed to have it to jump on and her husband was like, um amanda is sleeping, should i wake her up to ask if you are allowed to have this??? clearly she told her husband about our deal LOL....anyway, i'm excited to see what i can do without the pressure of the scale...this will be ALL about me and my abilities over the next 5 weeks....i'm pushing for 167 which from sunday's weigh in is 7lbs in 5wks - it's a push but i think i can do it.....on that note when i dropped it off this am i jumped on LOL of course and it said 177 so i'm up 3 from sunday WTF but no worries i'm sure it's water....this is one of the reasons i am giving it up....up down up down up down....do i weigh 174 or do i weigh 177?? does it really matter right this minute???? my clothes fit, i'm looking good and i'm feeling good...sooooo, i'm gonna keep working hard and see what the scale brings me at the end of the month....thanks for letting me stick around and i'll do my best to get some measurements posted to the thread later this week....0 -
I'm sure many of you have seen it, but everytime I read it, it inspires me. . . .thought I'd share with all of my AWESOME Hubba-Hubbas :flowerforyou:
Hope everyone is having a great week so far!
