With snow on the ground and in the forcast most of my steps will be on the treadmill for a while.0 -
I'm just not doing well at the end of this month. I've been sick and now I have just zero energy for anything so I've been lazy. I hope next week starts off better. I really need to get back on track. I've been pretty crappy since the school year started. Anyone else run into that?0

10,000 remains elusive but I keep trying. Today I will be replacing walking or jogging with snow shoveling.

10/30 -- well I wore my Omron for about 4 hours and put the summer yard furniture away and cleaned the garage and had only registered 150 steps!!! So my good ol' pedometer that I got secondhand finally peetered and died. Fortunately, my hubby had bought a couple different Omrons before this challenge, so now I have one of his, since he hasn't been wearing it. According to both Omrons I walked 1100 steps, but I'm guessing it was probably more like 3000. It'll be interesting to see, comparing my 2 pedometers, how off my old one was....0

You've been doing great!! And snow shoveling will likely burn more calories depending on how heavy the snow is. You must live out East...Today it's dreary and rainy. Even though there's no snow here, it definitely feels cold enough to.0 -

I find that I walk more than my pedo actually counts cuz it only counts after several steps and if you stop and go a lot it won't count most of the steps you take.0

Thanks. This challenge has helped me be much more active every day. I was suprised how few steps I would take on a normal day. Looking forward to next months challenge!
And I am in the northeast so we have fun in the snow - and in the dark. Hopefully power will be restored today. For a change its lucky I am travelling this week.0 -

The one I have doesn't register unless you do at least 10 steps. Which makes to me from an exercise/movement perspective. You prob. don't want every little jiggle registering as a 'step', so it takes at least 10 to count.0 -
Yeah I like the feature that it doesn't count each jiggle. My old one did that and it was useless. But I know it also doesn't count every step I take. Good with the bad I guess.0
-
My pedometer just rolled to count half million (!!!) steps for the month. Not going to be able to repeat that for next month, since the 3-day is over. But I feel very very happy.
This group has whittled down to just a few and you're all doing wonderfully.0 -

That's why I like the Omron. But there really was seriously something wrong with my old one. I have been doing errands this morning and laundry and a little housecleaning, and I'm already at 5000! The rest of the day will be pretty sedentary for me, though, with work.0 -

Aahh, the last day of the challenge... This has been a GREAT challenge. Some started and then quit, but some hung in there till the end. WTG to all of you, even those who tried for a day or 2. We all got moving!! Give yourselves a high-5!!! I've started this challenge for both Sept and Oct, but I think I'm going to take a break. Not from walking, though,--- this has been way too fun!!!! If anyone here wants to start a walking challenge for next month, by all means, go for it!!!! It's been fun!!!!!!:happy:0 -

IamIam, there's another challenge floating around for doing 100 jumping jacks/day in November. Good indoor exercise that gets your heart goinG! Maybe give that a try.0 -
Well today is it I guess. Congrats to everyone for completing the challenge. Wish I could have done more but being sick ruined half this month.0
-
Ooh I need to look that group up. I think I could do that.0

I finshed up well with over 14,000! A walk, treadmeill and dancing made today. Only 3 days over 10,000 in the second half of the month but this challenge kept me moving all month!
Great job everyone!
