Hi. Below is a fairly incomprehensible matrix of numbers in supposed date/daily calories burned/cumulative weekly calories burned. I gues the important thing is that I've exceeded the 5000 cals burned per week for the 2nd straight week. More of the calories came from carpentry this time, as I've been building a large room inside my workshop and spending a lot of time building an entertainment center in my furniture making class. Beside that, there's the usual elliptical, treadmill, walking the dog, gardening (planted 3 peach trees and two pecan trees) and lawn work. More than you likely wanted to know. I feel like I'm getting some more tone in several areas --legs, arms, trunk, but I don't think all the exercise is really helping the scale movement much. I hope the rest of you are feeling the same sense of accomplishment as I am with all this activity.

I succeeded in burning my 5000 and more this week--it's a lot easier when exercise is tied to productive work. October is a great time to get outside work accomplished, so I racked up my 2nd highest tally in gardening, which in my case consists of digging thousands of weeds (the "stickyburr" type) out of my recently acquired two acres. The hihest calorie burn, however, came from carpentry--I'm builing an internal room into my largish workshop and also building an entertainment center in my woodworking/furniture class. I'm doing just fine with retirement, thank you. The rest of the callories came from an array of walking modes. Below is my weekly record, with the 2nd column being the daily burn, the 3rd being the cumulative burn and the 4th being the running average for the week:
