  • I'M BACK!!! I had 3 days off from shredding and my back definitely felt stronger from having a rest, so I think in future I shall do it for maybe 5 days , break for 2 and continue? I play golf a couple of times of week so might skip the shred on my golfing days instead? its a shame some peeps have had to drop out of the challenge altogether, but you have to listen to your body, maybe you can pick it back up & try again soon.

Question??? if you were me, would you start counting again as today being L1D1? or stick to the L1D9? I might just try L2 in a few days anyway and answer that question meself LOL

oh & catrojas, that pic is so funny! :D I have pinched it and added it to my photos LOL

Hey Wendiekins. I wouldn't start all over again - no way! I missed out 2 days but am now just 1 day behind. I think a lot of people are seeing this as doing 30 workouts over whatever timescale and not worrying too much re how long it takes. Keep at it at the pace that suits you, especially as you're playing golf too.

Took a shred break yesterday (doing instead 2 times 40 minutes bike rides), definitely going to shred today though, this will be day 7 level 3. So very close to the end now. Not sure what I've lost but feel and look slimmer and the scale's the lowest
I've seen it in a long time. :-)

well, I'm taking the day off of shredding. Level 2 has sooo much more impact, My knee has flared up again. So hot and cold compresses for the poor thing today and 2 days off of work should have it healed soon....I hope

    L1D8 finished.
I will be missing tomorrow, I have a concert that's fairly far away so I'll be on the road most of the day :) However, calories will be burned at the concert :)

Level 2 day 6 done! I reeeeeally didn't want to and did it pretty late. It's getting a little easier. Time to move up to 5 lbs for some parts.

I do 5 lbs for a few things but for the most part I stick with 3.

I have had to take the last three days off as I have been sick and so have a few others in my house. Now I think I have a bladder infection. I am not giving up. I actually like parts I work out with this. I got a walk in yesterday but with how bad I am feeling I only managed a 10 min walk this morning. So we shall see what happens today with getting the shred in.

    L2D2 completed!
I needed the rest I took. My hip flexor was very tight and sore... I ran 5.2 miles on saturday and my legs were very sore from that and so today I got back in the saddle .... felt good to be back on the shred again; I felt invigorated after taking some time to rest because I have been really over exerting myself in some of my other workouts as well...
I do a class called group power and it's a nonstop barbell class... plus I do pilates and cycle and when I can fit it in yoga and running... I think the barbell mixed with this was killing me!

Cat, my knee was killing me too. I think it is all the squatting. Stupid squats. Who needs a nice butt anyway. lmao

I was out last night and just could not get up on time to do 30DS this morning before work. I'd planned a 2 session catch-up day as well. Will do day 7 of level 2 today and either double up tomorrow or save it 'til the weekend! Am likely to be away last 3 days in October as well so doubt I'll be done in October.

Tam, we have changed this to the 30 workout shred instead of the 30 day shred. :) Don't worry about doubling up or missing days. The important thing is the working out. Great job!

    You can do it berv!!!!

I'm thinking I am going to drop back down to level 1 for a few days. I didn't even log my workout last night because my workout was so lacking in effort. My hips and shoulders are so sore/tight! I'm hoping that doing level 1 again will still help me to get a decent burn but will be easier on my shoulders and hips. Kind of feeling like a failure, but don't want to really hurt myself.:frown:

Hey ladies. I am still in the game.. or will be when I feel better. I have a doc appointment tomorrow morning. I HATE the docs and try to avoid them but I am just feeling to bad to not go. I will get back to it when I am feeling like I wasn't ran over by a bulldozer. I can work through a lot but this is to much.

What a difference two pounds makes! I switched to five lbs yesterday and didn't feel like it was that bad but I am so sore today, everywhere. I think another thing that made a difference was I moved to the living room, so I had more room and I wasn't trying to keep the floor from creaking like it was going to cave in! So I was jumping higher, further, etc. I think I'll give it a rest today. If I don't eat anything else today I should be okay.

Carrie, give your arms a break, they will be stronger for it.

Well, that's it, I have shredded for 30 days (not consecutively but pretty close to)......do I feel better and fitter and stronger and possibly thinner? Yes. Do the before and after photos support that feeling? Looking like a bit of a big fat (no pun) no on that front. Gonna re take them tonight (was arguably feeling very full when I took the first lot) and actually look at them on a computer screen instead of the tiny phone screen but I doubt this will show up any additional nuances of a slimmer figure.

Oh well, not to be too disappointed, I did not eat clean at all and was sometimes over goal. Still, I know now that I can keep shredding ad infinitum on and off, steadily increasing the weight, that is a nice thing to know. Who knows, maybe I am indeed "totally shredded" underneath my modest extra layer. Will post pics soon.
  • I think I have just finished level 1 ! :D ....eventually! (only 9 days late) LOL sickness and golfing sorta stopped me shredding more than I realised they did... oops
am dreading moving onto level 2 but am gonna stick with it , and try to be a bit more consistant... if you lot can do it so can I !!!

My measurements arent that drastically different yet, my thighs have got 3/4 of an inch bigger even! (tis all that squatting methinks!) but I've lost an inch from my hips, waist and underbust so thats a bonus and Hubbs says my tummy is looking more toned and flatter too so the shred has made a noticable difference which makes it feel all the more worthwhile :D I have also lost weight at a faster pace, as Ive lost 4lbs in the last 2 weeks instead of the usual 1lb a week, again a noticed improvement so despite loathing Jillian Micheals... i shall be carrying on... cos it works!
