HOT MOMS (Closed Group) - 7/18 to 12/31

Options
Hello, Hot Moms!!

Instead of posting the group charts into each separate group topic thread, I thought it would be fun to create a “HOT MOMS” group that includes EVERYONE! Here’s what we get out of it:

1 – MORE FRIENDS! Even though we are in 8 different groups, we are all in this together! It’s all about people coming together and helping one another and realizing that you are not alone.

2 – MORE POSTINGS! Instead of small groups of 2-8 members, we are a grand group of 47 members. Let’s share what works or doesn’t work, and help each other make better choices. I’ll also re-invite the 20+ members who dropped out in the past 10 weeks.

3 – WEEKLY CHARTS for groups who are no longer creating them. Some captains have dropped out, and some captains are getting crazy busy. If you are a team captain and need a break, then relax and know that I’ve got your back! I’ll continue to post the chart below each week, hopefully by Wednesday night. (Sorry so late this week!)

On that note, here is the group chart from last weekend’s weigh-in.

WHO WANTS TO BE A HOT MOM? - GROUP RESULTS, Week 10 (9/26)

ZMjcd.png

We have had 2 members reach their Intermediate Weights! Great job, ladies!
:flowerforyou: LPC020409
:flowerforyou: dc_amaryllis

(FYI - I don’t have “IWs” for everyone. However, the “IW” is the half-way mark in our challenge, the weekend of October 8. One week away!!!!! If you would like to include an IW, just send me a message.)

Remember, this challenge ends on 12/31, and I am tracking the goal weight you want to reach by 12/31. If you need to adjust your GW, then send me a message. I just changed mine because I was TIRED of being in the “white.” I now am in the “green,” and as long as I am in the “green” each week, then I know I am on track to reach my 12/31 GW.

I want to see more members in yellow and green! If needed, adjust your GW, and get back on track! Now let’s work hard to reach our 12/31/11 Goal Weights!

Feel free to introduce yourselves again!

I'm Helen. I live in Salt Lake City, UT, and I have 2 kids: Gordon (age 9) and Anya (age 5). I finished my bachelor's degree last April, and I just started a new job last week as the registrar for the University of Utah's School of Medicine. I haven't worked full-time in 6+ years, so it's been an adjustment. The past 3 days were CRAZY as I tried to balance work/home/exercise/life.

I'm trying to lose the "pregnancy" weight that I put on 9 yrs ago with Gordon. (Can I still call it pregnancy weight after 9 years?????) So I joined "HOT MOMS." My weight loss has been slow (5.6 lbs in 10 weeks), but at least it's still progress! Now that life has settled down (no school work, no summer break, no job hunting, new job schedule), I hope to see some big losses in the next 12 weeks.

Hi I am Sarah. I have 2 wonderful children. Riley is 5 1/2 and in kindergarten. Ava is 4 and in preschool. I am a stay at home mom. I am a co-president of one pto and a member of the other. So busy with the kids activities that I am so tired I don't want to work out this past month.
I am doing more walking but I need to get back to going to the gym and switch it up so that I can continue with the weight loss. I am very excited that the last month I have losses every week. I am down 4.2 lbs since starting Hot Moms.

Hi all...I am Tammy. I am a 43 year old married mother of two teenage daughters, Brittany, a 15 year old high school sophmore, and Haley, a 13 year old 8th grader. We live in San Diego, CA. I work full-time as a Clinical Social Work Supervisor, so busy, stressful job. The kid's activities also keep up very busy. Brittany plays water polo and is on the swim team, and Haley plays club soccer.

I started my journey January 2010 and have lost 56 pounds. I have also become a runner during my journey. I started the Couch to 5K in February 2010, and I literally could barely run the 60 second intervals at the beginning. I ran my first 5K last May, first 10K last October, and I just kept going. My 2011 New Years resolution was to run a half marathon and to also run an event every month all year. I ran my first half marathon in January, and so far am on track with running at least one event per month. I have run 4-5Ks, 2-10Ks, and 4-1/2 marathons this year. I am currently registered to run half marathons in November, January, February, and March. Staying signed up for running events helps to keep me on track. I have been slacking off with my workouts lately, but have been doing really well food wise. I started the Hot Mom challenge at 169 and was 149.2 yesterday, so I am pleased with my progress so far and now see my goal weight of 135 within reach.

I am happy to be part of the group....being accountable to others helps keep me in check. Keep up the great work everyone!! We can do this!!

Hi, I am Deb, a mom of three an eight y/o girl and two boys 3 and 6 months. I worked as a cardiology RN for almost 10 years and then recently quit to stay home with my kids. I absolutely love staying home. I also help my hubby out with his Construction business, very part time with his books.

I have been up and down with my weight. My first successful venture was followed with a miscarriage and diagnosis of thyroid cancer. In the subsequent months I gain back all that I had lost. I have wavered with my weight up and down, especially with the two pregnancies I had after that. I have not ever made my goal weight, yet. But I am going to because then my risk of diabetes and cancer are significantly less. (I have had gestational diabetes with my last two pregnancies too)

For some reason my head isn't always in the game and I can come up with tons of excuses as to why I can eat the chocolate, cookies, cake, ice cream that are around--or just even buy it for that matter. I would appreciate any advice on how you help yourself stay in the mode.

Thanks Helen for starting this thread. I look forward to getting to know all the other Hot Moms.

I'm Susie from group 9. I have one son who's going to turn 2 in a couple of weeks. The first year and a half post-partem, I really didn't pay attention to my eating habits or exercise. I finally got tired of not fitting into my old clothes, so I joined MFP in July. I absolutely love this site. It keeps me on track and I've met many nice people who offer tons of encouragement. My greatest NSV since joining Hot Moms is that I can now run 3 miles without stopping. While it might not be a biggie to a lot of people, it's huge to me because prior, I could barely run 1/2 a mile without stopping. I'd love to eventually run 5K.

I'm 37 years old, 5'2" and diagnosed as being hypothyroid. I'm on meds to keep my thyroid regulated, but I still find that the weight is coming off very slowly.

Please feel free to add me.

My name is Kimberly and am from group 10. I live in Pensacola, FL and have 2 children. Hannah is 6 and in 1st grade and Aiden is 4 and in preK. I teach special ed and had the summer off. Since going back to work, I haven't been making the best of choices! There are always cookies, cakes, and doughnuts everywhere! Also, I haven't really found a workout routine since finishing P90X earlier this month. I'm hoping that this new group will give me the motivation that I need to lose my last few pounds! Feel free to add me!

Hi, I'm Colleen from group 8. I'm a mom to five kiddos, ages 1 1/2 to 8 1/2 in NH. We homeschool, and I also work very part time as office manager for a small, mom-owned wrap (baby carrier) company.

I started working out again in May of this year, using MFP. I fell off the wagon in August when we went on a 3 week family vacation for our tenth anniversary. I gained back some weight and lost the routine, and it's only in the last couple weeks that I've got back on it. I'm currently still 3 lbs over what I had gotten down to before our trip -- working on it. I'm currently doing BodyRock workouts and doing the C25K program -- I love both!

I like the idea for this group. Have a great night, mamas! (Or whatever time of day it is where you are. )

Hi, I am Nancy from Group 2. Thanks to Helen for helping all our groups get together! I think everyone can use as much support as they can get, because it's not easy losing weight, especially when we have families to care for! I live in PA, am a mom of 2 (ages 10 and 6), and work full time as a Reading Specialist. I joined MFP in Jan. 2011, and have lost 37 pounds since then. This past month with the school year starting back up (and work along with it!) I have slipped in my routines. I make myself get up earlier than my kids so I can get my workout in first thing, because if I don't do that, between homework, dinner, kids' activities, and bedtime, it's usually 8:30 at night before I can even think about working out. By then, I'm just too tired! I have not done well with getting up early this school year so far, so my goal for October is to really get back into that groove. Keep it up, Moms!

Hey all! My name is Marcia (yes, like the Brady Bunch:() I live in Idaho. Married to a fantastic, supportive man and the mom of two crazy boys ages 10 and 8. Was a college athlete who started back on this journey after a second knee surgery and a doctor who told me no more running. I am so thankful I found this site and that this group was started. It is so hard to keep going when everyone around you is so busy with their own lives. You feel like a nag or a complainer, or even a braggart if you talk about your struggles and successes. It is nice to have the support.

I really think I am so close to my body's ideal weight, even though I know I could lose a bit more in the belly and back. I am a jr. high teacher (enough said about my sanity level), I also coach volleyball and girls basketball. My husband coaches high school football, and we are crazy busy right now. This has thrown my eating and workout schedules for a loop. I am maintaining my weight and not losing anymore. I think I can lose more, but it is all I can do to maintain.

I am happy Helen brought us all together because I think I really need some tough love and extra support. So, nice to meet you all!!! Let's do this:)

Hi everyone! I'm Sara (group 8) with a two year old boy. I have been struggling for months against the side effects of my medication (increased appetite and carb cravings) and although I have had good weeks, overall I have gained over 20lbs since being on the medication. As the ladies in my group are all too aware (!!) this really gets to me sometimes but on the plus side, when I have been on this medication before I gained over 50lbs, and when I came off the medication I lost most of it quite easily over the next 6 months. I only have 10 days to go on the medication and have spent the last month or so gradually reducing the dose - which to be honest makes the side effects worse, but at last I can see light at the end of the tunnel!

Once I knew I was coming off the meds I set myself some new goals. I'll still be on the meds on the IW date so for now let me revise my goal to a more realistic 127 for 31st Dec (I was hoping to be in the low 120's by then) and just work my butt off (hopefully literally!!)

I have also just finished my masters degree and I'm looking for work so shedding a few pounds will certainly help for those up coming interviews

Hi there! I'm Daisy from group 3... I have a 7year old daughter and my son will be 3 in December. I stay at home with the kids, and my husband is an ironworker building big stuff all over Oklahoma. I'm a huge computer geek, studying web development off and on until my son starts school and I can go back full-time. I like to play video games and styme out on Netflix movies, sometimes at the same time...

Every time I re-evaluate my goals, that 167 seems doable, but my latest setback (I gained more than I had lost due to medication) has me aiming for closer to 174 to stay realistic. So, there's that~
Thankfully, I am back to where I was before starting the medicine. And maybe less... we will see tomorrow right

A big thank you to Helen for bringing us all together to help motivate each other.

My name is Robin and I am from Cartersville, GA and from Group 1. I am Mom to two wonderful daughters ( mine are grown and married), 24 and 23. I am also Mimi to a wonderful 5 year old grandson. I went from being a stay at home Mom that homeschooled the girls to a stay at home daughter. I cared for my parents and both have passed away now. I have a very supportive husband.

In April 2011 my highest weight was 243.5. My goal is 140. I got as low as 211.0, but last week Thursday I fell off the wagon and had Chinese Buffet ( my weakness) I should have told my Mother-in-law no because she knows I am working to lose weight. But it was just too much temptation. I still need to go and weigh in, but am really not wanting to see where I am up to. As of Friday morning I was 219.5 and I actually thought I was making good choices what I ate off the buffet. Then this weekend was tough to stay on track being at a local Fall festival and the food there is not diet. And then a funeral yesterday and we all ate all the yummy foods that were provided.

I will get back on track this week. I want to be down to 200 lbs by Oct. 22 because my hubby and I are going on a cruise.

It is nice to meet all of you and good luck to all of you on reaching your goals.

I weighed in at 120.2 this morning. I'm up a little from last week. I was sick, so I mainly stuck to comfort foods. Hubby and I started INSANITY this morning, so I'm ready to start anew!
