This was a good week, even if the scale doesn't show it, LOL. I got in exercise 4 days and ate well. I have some weird female stuff going on, hopefully that resolves soon. Also still struggling with cold weather, hoping it warms up this week, one week at -40 is quite enough!

    Hi everyone,

177.0 for me. Hopefully just the popcorn I ate at the movies yesterday made me gain some water weight!

I'm worried about Thanksgiving and the company I am having for 5 days. They like to go out to eat a lot!

I've been really down on myself with this challenge. I've been more than a little overwhelmed with working full time, starting my own business, and the everyday tasks of being a wife and mother. Therefore, I've been giving myself an out when it comes to also finding time for exercise. Which, for me, won't create much of a loss. Four pounds in two and a half months isn't exactly... what I hoped for. LOL Anyway - I've turned a corner. I realized on the drive to work this morning that if I wasn't logging in and tracking my weight - I would probably also be using the stress as an excuse to make poor eating choices and would have gained! So I am very thankful (--> tis the season) for this site and for this challenge for helping me to maintain during the holidays and to not gain! I had forgotten that was something to be happy about. I will NOT beat myself up if the scale goes up next Monday. I'm going to enjoy Thanksgiving and having guests over for three days and be happy that I have the knowledge to get the scale back down after the holiday. (In preparation for Christmas!) Have a very happy Thanksgiving everyone! :flowerforyou:

Got on the scale actually last night and was still 207 from a few days before, but that is still a 2 lb loss from last week...so I will take it!

Today I'm experiencing a "moment"....so today I'm cheating. Will resume tomorrow after I've had about 5 shots of whiskey.

dixedreg - YAY for being in ONEderland!

gmomlyn - Great going on jumping back on the exercise bandwagon!

vallejos6 - -40... Yikes! ;-) I have "some weird female stuff going on" also. :/ Boo for us...

cathyl3 - "going out to eat a lot" - The easiest way to help yourself is to only have 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4 of whatever you order. Even the drinks. Then be the best you can with the foods you eat between your heavy meals. It won't make you thinner, but it will help you on the direction you want to go and still enjoy the food and being with your loved ones.

Jelybe - I loved your post. I really like what you're "very thankful" for. I am also planning on enjoying Thanksgiving food, for a few days, and fully anticipate being heavier next Monday. I will then work hard to get that weight off, and a little more, coming toward Christmas. I really want to be in the 130s by the end of the year!

So many weigh ins not posted... :-(

Congrats to julidav, dixedreg, Scarlettdawn764, gmomlyn, and jllipson on being our biggest losers this week!

Congratulations to gmomlyn for being our, overall, biggest loser of pounds and percentage!

Scarlettdawn764 - Since you are, consistently, being highlighted (and doing fantastic!) would you please give us this week's mini challenge?

What are your plans for Thanksgiving everyone?

I'm spoiled on Thanksgiving... ;-) My husband cooks the entire meal, except for the pies and Heavenly Salad. But it is sad for me that, out of having 9 people in our family, only 4 of us will be here. :-( One of these times, maybe next year, I think I will invite a lot of the adults that don't have anywhere to go. I don't know who they are yet but I'm sure I can find them at church and my immediate neighbors. I'd like to have about 20 - 30 people here! That's how it was by the time all of my siblings had spouses and kids and we'd have Thanksgiving at my parent's house. Back to now... 3 of my family live in Maryland (I'm in AZ). 2 live less than 3 hours away but decided she (her and 3 year old granddaughter) wanted to go to her boyfriend's parent's instead. :-(

Yes you are definitely spoiled not having to cook anything!!:noway: I wish I normally have to cook everything when I am home! I guess that is the one plus this yr not cooking but I am going to miss them. I hope you enjoy your time with the family that will be there!!

You are right! I will focus on how thankful I am that my husband cooks such a delicious spread, that we have a home to eat it in, that we have the money to buy it, that I have loved ones to share it with, and my many, MANY other blessings! :-)

I wish I had someone to cook the entire meal for me! My mom and my 2 daughters, and even my grandaughters make some things, but the bulk of the cooking and baking is on me. Plus, I have to have my house ready for every one. That in itself isn't easy when there are always grandkids here it seems. This year, I think we'll have 27 for Thanksgiving. But that's including the 2 babies under the age of 1.

I know how you feel though, Kristen. My son and his wife and children have missed a few holidays here because they go to my DIL's family. Then there was the year my oldest daughter and her husband and their children spent Christmas in Florida with my SIL's family. That was a difficult year for me too because I missed the kids so much. Luckily, everyone will be here this year. And...I count my blessings that my parents are still around and will be joining us as usual.

That's what it's all about. Counting your blessings for all the many, many good things that you do have. And no matter how many miles apart you may be from your loved ones....they're still your family and you still love each other and you're blessed that they are part of your life.
