we used to do this when i was a teenager...my mom invited all her "single" friends to dinner for thanksgiving so they had a place to go...it was nice....
What are your plans for Thanksgiving everyone?
I'm spoiled on Thanksgiving... ;-) My husband cooks the entire meal, except for the pies and Heavenly Salad. But it is sad for me that, out of having 9 people in our family, only 4 of us will be here. :-( One of these times, maybe next year, I think I will invite a lot of the adults that don't have anywhere to go. I don't know who they are yet but I'm sure I can find them at church and my immediate neighbors. I'd like to have about 20 - 30 people here! That's how it was by the time all of my siblings had spouses and kids and we'd have Thanksgiving at my parent's house. Back to now... 3 of my family live in Maryland (I'm in AZ). 2 live less than 3 hours away but decided she (her and 3 year old granddaughter) wanted to go to her boyfriend's parent's instead. :-(0 -

We are travelling to Michigan to my girlfriend's daughter for Thanksgiving and she has 4 kids.
The hubs are coming too. Her boyfriend is making the dinner, lucky us, and then on Friday
we are doing the Black Friday shopping, my girlfriend, her daughter and me.
See you guys when I get back.
Great day for the losers this week.
Happy Thanksgiving to All !!!!0 -
Oh boy! A mini challenge. Ok.....
This is a week for most of us of overindulgence. And even though we've all been working to lose, we SHOULD be able to enjoy with our friends and family this week. However, there's no reason we can't keep it in check! I read somewhere that you should be able to put what you want.....on HALF of your plate and fill the other half with good veggies.
So, if you must indulge, try to balance it a bit.....fill up on veggies and lean turkey, and have smaller portions of other favorites. Don't be afraid to log your calories! Don't hide your food :P And if you feel as if you have overdone it....make time to do a little bit of an extra workout.....add a bit longer to your run/walk.....do a few more minutes on the elliptical....whatever your workout pleasure. I know when I eat "bad stuff" a little extra working out goes a long way to making me feel better.0 -
HAPPY THANKSGIVING all, have a wonderful day to those celebrating Thanksgiving....enjoy the day with family and friends....and back to logging and gym on friday:flowerforyou: ....i plan on a spinning class tomorrow, need all the calorie burn i can get....:blushing:0

Hey Ladies. Sorry I have been mia. Been busy and dealing with stress. My last day at my job is Nov 30th. I am feeling better about the situation and things are looking up. My weight has been fluctuating this passed week, but as I get back on track, it will get better.
Congrats to all losers this week!

Sorry I didnt post Monday but it has been very hectic traveling and SUnday my mom wasn't well in SC Then she fell on Monday and I have been making arrangment the past several days. Also being nagged by my brother the vulture circling until she dies. Sorry that was rude but it has been one heck of a week.
My weight is back to 146 not because I am not eatting right, but I have had two asthma attacks and had to use my meds often and they hold weight on me. I have been exercising though. Drinking more gatorade than water though.
Hugs to everyone0 -

Didn't meet my mini goal, but I've decided to focus on getting to my "overweight" weight by the end of our challenge. I'm heading out on vacation next week and I fully intened on making good choices and getting some exercise in. Hopefully I'll see a bit of a loss then. I hope you all had wonderful Thanksgivings, and are able to report a loss on Monday :drinker:

Just saying......chicken is not ALWAYS lower calorie than beef. Case in point, went to pick my engagement ring up from being resized (had to get it taken down to a 4 1/2!!!!)......anyways my fiance wanted to get White Castles. I ate really really well all day and so I thought...oh a couple of mini chicken sandwiches won't be that bad. WRONG! If you find yourself at White Castles....EVER.....opt for the plain old original slider which are only 140 calories a piece. The mini chicken sliders which I thought would be lower calorie.....were 390 calories a piece. Ugh.0
