As the male chauvinist of the group, let me say “BRAVO” to all those ladies who love to dress fun, flirty and even slutty on Halloween. I love you all.

I'm all for sexy! Sexy never goes out of style.

    I'm against trampy.

One person's trampy is another person's sexy. Perhaps some feel it is a sign of feminism and women's rights, to be able to dress as they wish. You have been claiming to each her own, while at the same time stating that the way people are dressing is wrong, that ladies are losing the wrong inches, and pronouncing trampiness on others. It's just [personal expression, and while it may not be how you wish to express yourself, it doesn't mean it's wrong in others.

Precisely. What I was trying to express in my previous post is that there are millions of people who would tell Aunt Deedee herself that her profile pic is trashy and she needs to have some decency and cover herself. I don't think she'd like hearing that.

For anyone concerned about what other ladies are wearing and wish they would cover up more there is hope. There's a whole region you can move to where the women are very concerned about dressing appropriately and not showing too much skin. It's called the Middle East. You can go there and you won't have to deal with all these women who feel free to express themselves as they choose to.

OR you can stay in a free country and realize that other people have a right to dress however they'd like.

This is perfect, and exactly how I feel. No law saying you have to look

Right, but I don't see people telling you "you're wrong" or "you're a prude" or whatever, just that it is your opinion. However, you have been coming across to some readers of this thread as saying, in a nutshell, "you're wrong" and "you're a tramp."

I'm honestly not trying to anger people here, but the over-sexualization (which may or may not be a word, hah) of the whole day drives me batty.

You do what makes you happy, and I'll do what makes me happy. At the end of the day, we're all different-- the world would be boring otherwise.

But just because you don't care about my opinion, and I frankly could care less for yours-- doesn't mean that either of them is gonna change.

I guess what bothers me about the sexualized costumes is that they aren't creative at all. I like scary costumes and clever costumes and funny costumes because people actually put some thought into them. The slutty ones ... it's like "Oh, another slutty Little Red Riding Hood."

I don't make judgments about people's morals based on their costume. I know plenty of women who would never do "slutty" in their day-to-day lives, but they do it on Halloween because it's the one day of the year they get to be someone totally different. So what?

The only time I think adult costumes, whether slutty or super-scary/gross, get out of line is when they're worn at a "family-friendly" party with children in attendance, taking kids trick-or-treating, etc. I speak from experience when I say that adults ruin Halloween for some kids with crap like this. My parents stopped taking my brother, sister, and me trick-or-treating because of some of the stuff the "adults" in our neighborhood would do.

I don't see how the slutty costumes are influencing young girls, where are you seeing these slutty people? They are at night clubs and maybe the odd restaurant before/after the club but in the clubbing district maybe a McDonalds at midnight but these are areas where you children shouldn’t be so I don't see how they are visible or a problem for your family or for you.

If you’ve got it, flaunt it but DON"T complain about the comments or attention, walk with your head held high! I went as Tiger Woods' cocktail waitress mistress last year with my husband as Tiger Woods (or Whitey-Woods as party goers decided to call him as we weren’t going to be disrespectful by using face paint) but that was at a house party and I was in a skirt and denim corset, arguably not lingerie.

    Sorry but I think you’re just jealous…

    Seriously...
If a "young girl" was at a party or bar where these costumes get worn, there are more serious issues at hand than them seeing a flock of slutty angry birds.

What am I jealous of, exactly?

Btw, totally got a laugh out of "Whitey Woods"
