Why ruin a good piece of meat?

Our staff Christmas party is tomorrow evening and we are having it catered. They are bringing in STEAKS for everyone. I was the one appointed to get everyone's order of how they like their steak cooked. You want to know what most people said???? WELL DONE! OMG! Why ruin a steak by cooking it to death? I like mine RARE baby! Sear that sucker on both sides and let it rip! LOL

    With Steak... medium. Raw is disgusting ^^ You can as well just go and fork&knife a cow to death on the field .... well done on the other hand... tastes a bit like... rubber

    i order it rare, 9 times out of ten by the time it comes to my plate its medium, which i love.

    I giggled like a school girl at how do you like your meat :laugh:

    I like mine cooked where there is no red. I never order it well done though because I'm super picky. What's overcooked to me is not necessarily overcooked to others.

    My sister is the type that you can run it through a warm room and she'll eat it. Makes me a little queasy just thinking about it.

    Well done, I dont want what I'm eating to look like where it came from. (probubly going to become vegetarian in the near future)

    "No," I reply. "Burn it. When you think it's well done, cook it a little more than that."

    Even a hint of pink and I just can't handle it.

    I like my steaks rare to rare-medium rare. You can't uncook a steak.

    this. But, I rarely eat meat off the bone anyway, mostly chicken breasts, fish, and veggies here.

    Medium in high end steak restaurants because they cook it to a perfect medium. But i order it mid- rare in most places because less experienced people don't realize steak keeps cooking once its off the grill, so by the time it gets to me its actually medium. Warm pink center. :)

    Medium Rare. I used to be one of those well done people, but gradually came down from Well Done, to Medium Well, to Medium and now Medium rare.

    Edited to add that last night I cut small strips of meat off my grass fed ribeye and ate it completely raw. It was room temperature from sitting on the counter to thaw all day.

    Rare. And I've told people that if they come over and we're having steak, if they ask for well done, I will put a belt on their plate. Medium is ok, but after that there is no flavor left... and it's way too chewy. Blergh...
