  • OKAY.. UNGRATEFULNESS.... FAKE... lol...
  • Sexy i simply replied to an open post. these were my thoughts. you are welcome to feel the way you feel. I think you are awesome. But it doesn't mean I have to agree with your topic. I know you really want more than the YAY.. NICE.. WTG.. who doesn't.. but what I am saying is sometimes.. if not OFTEN that individual may only have time for that.. That's all i'm saying. And you never know what someone may be going through and that may have been ALL they had to give. You are amazing.. you will continue to be.. and I wish you many more successes!
We all have those words or acronyms that sometimes we receive that you wish would be banned from anyone using...Especially on those days when we feel like we have went extremely hard and all we recieve is this on our status..I will start it off: I am going to list my TOP Five..

    Number #1-GM
    #2-WTG
    #3- Awesome
    #4-You Rock
    #5-Amazing

I wouldnt say it is a Joke but it is FUN and Games Topic ...I agree UNGRATEFULNESS should be a word that is banned in 2012 so why not just put that word in the room... To know those that ARE GENUINE and those that ARE NOT...I definitely learned that best in 2011...So I do welcome those that REALLY mean what they say to people and can recognize the FAKE EASILY! I have the support from my pals and give it to prove that ....

Surely this is a joke... I believe when someone takes a MOMENT out of their busy day to say 'good job' is a HUGE compliment!!!!! and on other times when they have more time to say more .. its a blessing. WHen I work hard I tell myself I am awesome.. no need for much more. though I am MOST appreciative for those that do support me with a hoo-rah every once in a while! I have learned to charge to their time because if they are in my group of friends... I know their heart is true. We could all use 2012 as a year to also ban ungratefulness. IJS..

Well not how long it took, but what it looked like before---so how long it took to get it looking worth something.

Being a jerk just must be in your nature!

Excuse me but are you refering to this is a statement you don't like?...I am sure you are not refering to myself... cause i know you don't really know me well enough to call me that...LOL

If you really knew SexyCook, you would know that jerk is definitely not a word that describes her at all. What this word does show is that the person using it may have been too feeling lazy to dig into the vast English language of vocabulary and choose a more appropriate word that is befitting of another person. But then again, since that person doesn't really know SexyCook, how could they? So, instead, they pick the first hurtful word that they could think of (too easy) to describe a person for whom they know nothing, absolutely nothing about and assume that it's indicative of that persons character. Therefore the situation in which I just described is one of ignorance...............and before this person tries to go off......realize that I just described the situation as ignorant, rather than the person, because I don't know them either. And when I dictated the word "lazy" I was describing an action rather than the person. #BAM

If you don't agree with a person's topic, you could simply state that without all of the name calling. That's totally unnecessary.

    Bump.

No, I'm not bumping, I'd like to see that word banned for 2012.
Plus, I thought it'd be funny to post. :P

Seriously though -- acronyms of any sort.

Ok, I've been trying to figure out what "BUMP" means. I see it on Topic Post all the time and I'm thinking "WTF?"

I've only read a few pages....but here are My Words and PhrasesThat Should Be Banned in 2012

    1. lol
    2. at this moment in time
    3. wow
    4. you are looking soooooo much better (I've just had brain surgery....this is what people have been saying to me for over a year prior to the surgery and are now saying it AFTER the surgery....aaagh!)
    5. are you sure?

The last one - Are you sure? - DRIVES ME MAD. It is ALWAYS said in such a condescending voice and always by someone who just knows they know more about everything than I do.

Happy New Year My Fitness Pals!

The word I really don't like to see is one which is rarely actually written but is often so much in evidence.....FASCISM!

Seriously, if something is irksome to read, don't read it! Who are we to dictate how people should spell, or what they should talk about?

Having been a teacher for almost 15 years, I know that some people genuinely cannot spell some words, no matter how hard they try. And funnily enough, this has never made them bad people. Nor stupid people. Ditto some folks' need to talk about certain topics. People need to talk - that's why internet fora work so well. For some, it's the only chance they get to discuss matters - not everyone is blessed with supportive friends and family.

Regarding profile comments, I really don't mind what people write on mine, as long as it's positive...and since they *are* my friends, they are always positive! Certainly there have been instances when I've felt that perhaps giving me a 'WTG' when (due to illness) I've only consumed 200 cals in a day was not the best comment, and maybe an indication that my food diary had not been looked at, but the fact remains that that person still cared enough to take the time to contribute *something*...and that means a lot to me. Most of us lead very busy lives, and IMO, giving one's time is a very precious gift indeed...one I am always incredibly happy to receive.

So, one word I would like to see more....TOLERANCE!

    1. Wowzers,
    2. Woop woop,
    3. TTYL
    4. light house cleaning burns

LMAO, people have light house cleaning everyday. I'm like, "How dirty is your house???"

Oh, I don't know - I suspect that cleaning a lighthouse every day has got to burn an awful lot, especially if done from top to bottom! Cleaning that light on the top is bound to be a great upper arm workout!

On a more serious note - for some people, housework may be the only workout they are capable of. I don't see how burning 200 cals doing the cleaning every day is any different to burning the same amount running, walking, or doing any other form of 'legitimate' exercise every day! What is important is that people are moving, surely? Housework may not have the same benefits as running (for example) but for someone who has previously led a very sedentary life, it could make a huge difference, especially if they live in a large house.

TOLERANCE is one of the most intolerant words, I think. It smacks of "putting up with things/attitudes/behaviours etc" It is a word I dislike people using and am always wary of people who declare they are tolerant.

Also, I would ban the phrase "YES BUT...."

This always means that whatever is being discussed does not apply to that person. To me what is really being said here is: "Yes, but I'm special"

    Oh. And that's another phrase...

    1. she/he is such a specail person.

SHOW ME SOMEONE WHO IS NOT A SPECIAL PERSON!!!!!!! WE ALL ARE!!!!!

I'm really enjoying this thread.....thank you for allowing my own personal rant!

"Not to interrupt you but".....but you just did!

"Irregardless" .......not even an actual word

"nicca"....changing the G's to C's doesn't make it any better.

Word...I can't stand it when I make a statement and someone agrees by saying word :indifferent:

Also you need to cut those of us with cleaning logs some slack. I have 3 children, a messy husband and more pets than anyone should have. Cleaning is never done in this place and since I'm up moving furniture and down on my hands and knees scrubbing, I count it. Considering the 22 lb loss, I'd say it counts

Excuses build nothing but mounds of incompetence; She might wanna read the profile of some of the ladies on here with kids careers husband's animals; No need for us to cut you any slack seems like you got plenty of that.............

I agree with so many of these. I just really hate it when people use text speak. Seriously, does it save you that much time to use plz, instead of please? We are going to create a generation of illiterate people. "I know, right", "Epic", "Winning", "Haterz", "Just sayin'", and "Fail" all drive me insane too. I am also really tired of the endless posts about whether someone should or should not eat exercise calories.

    Haters.

Someone not agreeing with something you posted on an internet forum board, doesn't make them a "hater".

    "just sayin'"

Yes, dear god. This should be banned. There is no reason to say "just sayin" after you have said something. We know you are "just sayin" it because you just said it.

It means you can say anything rude before it.

An example of an out of date phrase with a similar application would be, 'I'm not racist, but... '

    or "No offense, but..."

i especially agree about "Awesome." For some reason, it sounds okay if kids use it, but I'm in my 40s, and when people my age say it, it sounds strange to me.

Phenomenal (lmao) & Hubby Hubby Hubby (lmao)
Every time I hear "phenomenal" I keep thinking of that sketch from The Muppets...

    Phenomenal...doo doooo doo-doo-doo....
    Phenomenal...doo doo-doo doo...
    Phenomenal...doo doooo doo-doo-doo doo-doo-doo doo-doo-doo doodoodoodoodoo doo doo doo-doo doo

This song actually came from light porn. It was on MSN news page. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahahah!! Manama! doo doo de doo doo! Manama!

I always do that. Always. With phenomenon, too.

Now I shall have that wretched tune stuck in my brain, rattling around endlessly.

I am guilty of using the word "awesome" far too often.
