Wow, sdereski, you're doing GREAT! You're keeping to proper nutrition, only one more run until half-marathon - I'd say YOU ARE KILLING IT!!

    beachboy - happy Friday

I did my photos/measurements, today. Good thing I have the photos! my measurements are back to what they were end of February, 2013. Booooooooooo. So, even though I really *did* WORK HARD in May, it is NOT showing up in measurements! Ugh. May ended up being much more of a maintenance month.

Been there, Beeps! My measurements went the wrong way last week, but this week I got my diet dialed in and lost fat in the right places and gained some size in chest.
Hang in there and tweak the diet where necessary and you will be on the right path in no time!

Wow...I'm in my 40's now??? How can that be??? I think I'm 18, I act 25, people tell me I look 32 but yes I"m 44. I've had the most fun in my 40's I know that and I've lost and gained weight in the last 4 years but now on my way down for the LAST time I swear! I'm doing it this year (well last year I started and I"m half way through my journey). Nice to meet y'all!!!

...I take glucosamine/chondroitin daily, I think it helps me. My husband was experiencing knee pain not too long ago and started taking my pills and the pain went away so he swears by them.

Thank you for the recommendation! I'm going to check into that right away today!

Thanks, beachboy....it's all good. It's not like I'm going to turn around and "quit" - I'm very, very close and, whether it happens by June/July/November/December, I'll take it! Yes, I hope it is "sooner" rather than "later", but now that I'm L-E-A-N, getting anymore fat off my frame seems to be REALLY HARD TO DO!

    Hi all,

Got my run in yesterday. Boy, every step was a challenge. I just don't feel like the runner I was a year ago. Not sure what is up (yes, I do...my weight. )
Today hubby and I went out on our bikes. It was my first bike ride of the year. It has been so cold and windy or rainy or snowy that I just didn't get a chance. Did a 2 hour ride early this aft and it felt wonderful!

Had the family over for dinner and then we walked the beach with our granddaughter. She was too cute.

Beeps, you are lean and as you said, to lose additional weight / fat is going to be tough and take longer.
beachbody - not sure what the metabolic diet is, but it obviously works for you.
green - welcome! Yes, hitting our 40s or 50s in my case, is always a bit of a surprise, but like you...I don't act / feel / my age, so it's all good.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. :flowerforyou:

sdereski - sorry to read that you aren't feeling as accomplished a runner as a year ago...that is obviously weighing heavy on your mind.

I will only be lifting today and Wednesday this week. Mini-holiday to Vegas Thurs night to Sunday.

I am trying to log calories, but likely won't be doing that when away. I'll figure out how to get back to what I want (as a nutrition plan) come June.

beeps - I haven't felt like myself for a while now. Late fall, my doc changed my thryoid meds and then changed them again in February. Although I was not sympotmatic and all my vitals were normal and I felt fine, she went by my blood work results and changed them. I don't think that was the right thing to do and didn't at the time, but she insisted. Since then, I have gained 10lbs and just don't have the "get up and go" I had before. Everything is a chore. So.......am going to ask to see an Endicronologist. I think with my hormones going a little wonky due to menopause, it is having an effect on my thyroid levels.

I am certainly displaying hypothyroid symptoms now - hiar loss, dry skin, chipped nails, moodiness, brain fog....lots of fun stuff.

I did run yesterday, but again, every step was a chore. The last half was better.
I am planning on going back to lifting as soon as I am back from this half marathon. I don't like the looks of my body and more importantly, I don't feel "fit and strong".

Hope you are all doing well and that the sun is shining in your part of the world. It is in mine.

Good Tuesday morning all! It has been a busy weekend as it was the Memorial Day holiday. I have managed to get in some exercise everyday this weekend, and actually some running in on Sunday as part of my exercise. Things still moving downwards on the scale so that is a good thing. I added some extra cardio yesterday because I knew that I would want to indulge a bit more in all of that good picnic food, but found that I got full and definitely could not eat as much as I used to!

    Have a good day all!

sdereski - I'm REALLY HAPPY to read that you are pushing on to see another specialist....we just went through something very similar with our 2nd son....he hasn't grown in 3 years. We kept asking his dr "shouldn't we be worried about that???" (I'm 5'9" and my husband is 6'3" and all of our siblings/parents are 5'11" tall and ABOVE...)

Anyway, in January we finally ASKED to get put through to an endocrinologist....turns out son's asthma meds have COMPLETELY SUPPRESSED HIS ADRENAL FUNCTION. So, yep, it explains why he is SICK ALL THE TIME, it explains why he hasn't gained WEIGHT OR HEIGHT, it explains why he seems to be STRESSED OUT all the time, at every single thing. The kid has NO adrenal function.

    :(

Anyway, he's been completely off his asthma meds for 4.5 weeks and is doing okay. He's being closely monitored for asthma and (now) closely monitored to see when his adrenal function will return.

KEEP PUSHING - YOU NEED ANSWERS! Do NOT settle for a "mediocre life"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hear ya Beeps, I did mine Friday and was so bummed...in the last month only lost a quarter of an inch from my chest and arms even though I lost 3 lbs. Boooo is right!!! Not that happy with the pictures either but hey, it is what it is. Starting a 30 day nutrition challenge on June 1st hoping to see some pretty good results by the end.

Hope y'all had a good long weekend, mine was very busy with work around the house but managed my CrossFit workout on Friday night and Saturday morning, a 3 mile walk/run on Sunday and a 6 mile walk at the beach yesterday, back at the gym today.

Have a great rest of the day Cool Kids!

beeps - that is so frightening about your son. We really need to advocate for own health and our children's health! Poor little guy.

new - you may be disappointed, but looking back at your pictures, you have made HUGE progress in less than a year! Congratulations!!!:drinker:

    kellysue - great weekend! :flowerforyou:

    newbeg1ning - LOVE the pics!

    Thanks for posting them!

toutmon - I tend to get in >15 glasses of water a day. Mind you, I'm also in the washroom at least once-per-hour...

sdereski - yes - do NOT, ever, take your health for granted....it really is THE difference between a great quality of life and something less than...

newbeg - great job! Love the pics!!!! doesn't progress feel awesome?

I had an awesome weigh-in on Friday - I lost 5 lbs! I had a couple slow weeks before that, so I was pretty pumped. Then - I flew up north for the weekend to be with my sisters and their families for graduation festivities. However, tragedy struck while I was there, and my nephew's baby girl passed away suddenly - I hadn't even gotten to meet her yet. Nonetheless, it was a very sad weekend, and of course we are all emotional eaters, so it was eat, eat, eat all weekend.

I don't even care about my weigh-in this Friday - to be with my family during triumph and tragedy was priceless to me. I am back home and back on the healthy eating/exercise horse. The saddle may not feel bigger this week, but next week is a new game.

helpers- so sorry to hear abut your nephew's baby. That is so sad. My prayers are with your family. Sometimes we have to let go of the reigns a bit when things like this happen. I am sure you will be able to get things back on track.
