I have personally met and/or had sight of quite a few celebs (more local then international famous though)
I met 2 while working at MC Yuk's as a teen. I served Jeannie Becker (Toronto-Fashion TV), and Ed Robertson walked over my freshly mopped floor lol (Barenaked Ladies weren't famous yet, at that point they'd made an appearance on Speaker's Corner...that's how I recognized him)
I met Tricia Cast (Nina Webster on Y&R) at a mall visit, and won a backstage pass (pissed off ALOT of older gals - I was a youngin). She was sooooo nice!
I got to get a sig and hand shake from the Monkee's Micky Dolenz.
My sister and I saw a couple of The Kids In The Hall taped live, so we got to shake hands with Scott Thompson and Bruce McCullough outside while waiting. AWESOME TIME we had, great show!
The lead singer of Aqua came over to the window at MuchMusic to play with my son (was 1.5yrs old)
and....I almost got to meet Hugh Laurie at a BFTV performance. The lady in front of me got the last signature. I still had amazing seats though, and will hopefully get to meet him this Feb when he comes back with the band. I have front row tickets!! :happy:
He's been a source of inspiration for me, so I am crossing my fingers for a sig (maybe even a pic! lol) :blushing:

I also rode in an elevator with Gabriel Byrne, sat next to Fabio at a dinner function (for like 10 mins.) and took paula Adbul's deposition.

This is definetely known only in the Balkans, but i have dated Marinko Prga for a while 5 years ago, a pretty famous actor down there.
I sang for both the former and the current presidents of Croatia. And the Hungarian president too, and he also winked me during a concert. That was awesome! :-)0 -

I've met a lot of 80's and 90's hair bands (Bret Michaels comes to mind). I also met some NASCAR drivers. I met Opie and Anthony from the Opie and Anthony Show. I've met some comedians that go on that show (Jim Norton, Patrice O'Neal, etc). No one TOO exciting though.0

In LA I've encountered:
Hugh Laurie & Matthew Gray Gubler at the same coffee shop in the same day. (Weird...)
Alex Trebek attending a performance of Wicked at the Pantages. (I introduced myself to him, he said, "Hi, I'm Alex" and then I awkwardly walked away)
Mischa Barton (took a portrait which I was excited about!)
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Bell, Kirsten Dunst, AND Busy Phillips were all at the same Jenny & Johnny show.
Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't seen more.
Edited to add: I also took photos of one of Ryan Gosling's band, Dead Man's Bones' shows, a year and a half back. I didn't get to meet him but standing 10 feet away from him was good enough for me
One more depending on how you define celebrity, but I met Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine outside her first LA show. I was so starstruck, I LOVE HER! :smooched:0 -

Mainly hockey players, but hello -- I love them!
I met Trevor Linden the night he was first traded from Vancouver. His heart was broken and it was so obvious, but he was such a genuinely nice guy. Love that man.
I know Emilie Ullerup from Sanctuary; she's been my cousin's best friend for years. Such a nice person, and genuinely the most physically gorgeous woman I've ever seen in person -- sans makeup.0 -
