I seriously doubt that anyone would hit on this 63 yr old grandma so that is not my motivation but I do belong to a women's gym. Not to keep guys away but because the equipment is lower, with smaller weight increments so easier for me to use. If you have problem with guys that is one solution. Hope that helps

It doesn't happen to me either, but that may be because my body pump instructor (a catholic school mom), decided that because my name was Mary, she would call me "sister". So now people think a I am body pumping nun. Not great for my love life, but kind of amusing. :ohwell:

The ONE time I got hit on at the gym it was at Lackland AFB and the guy was impressed that I was smoking him on the same piece of equipment that he was using. That's it.

not me! people stare... that's about it! i thought a guy was going to come up to me once... he was either just being really creepy... or chickened out!

but i would hate getting interrupted during a workout, so i'm fine with that! lol.. but no, you're not alone!

Yeah...I don't really pay attention to much at the gym, no one has come right up to me and that's where you would have to
    be for me to notice.

I don't have the getting hit on problem...I'm ok with that. I too have read the stories!

I've not been hit on at the gym, either. Unless you count the older lady who put on goggles & ducked under when it was just the 2 of us in the hot tub. Not one of my favorite gym moments.

    LOL OMG!!

You might be giving off a "don't talk to me or I'll cut you" vibe. I personally make an effort to give off that vibe myself - it cuts down on awkwardness and wasted time. If you *want* to be hit on more, though, try smiling more and wearing less.

I've never been hit on at the gym either. But I don't look cute at all at the gym. I go with my headphones in, no makeup, hairjust up and get all sweaty running on the treadmill. No one wants to hit on that. Lol

I has never happened to either and I definitely don't mind. I hate it when I am running and cars honk, or the gross guys that grope you in bars and clubs. BLEKH

Glad I can workout at the gym without being bothered :)

You're beautiful so you probably just intimidate them! ha!

When I worked out at a gym I'd deal with the sweaty guys coming over and bugging me. I just ignored them. I think the worst was when it was some creepy guy. I didn't give up on the gym because of him but it was annoying. He'd come up behind me and be like "WOW daaayyyyyummmm" I realized mentally/socially he probably was clueless but instead of giving him a reaction I just ignored him or gave him one word answers neutrally like "Busy."

I treat it as I get hit on no matter where I go. Most of the time it's unwanted but I just ignore them figuring it's the best way to handle it. I feel like a piece of meat, an object when they do it. I guess one can say I prefer guys who smile at me, are subtle in their flirting and have small talk with me versus someone saying I'm hot and coming on waaayyy too strong.

Guys do smile at me, but I never get hit on, simply because it's obvious that I'm there to work out, and not to socialise.

Not here either... ultimately if I don't find a guy at church, I'd like to at the gym. I mean, I want to share those things that are most important to me.
People do look, especially if I'm like in regular clothing...maybe if my hair is down/earrings are in, etc... I'm pretty sure I give off the vibe not to mess with me while I'm working out.

I've never been hit on at the gym. Ever. An ex first noticed me at the gym, but we actually met/got hit on at a mutual friend's party.
I definitely think I put out the "don't talk to me vibe", not intentionally.

Someone posted in the thread about not having a gym membership that they felt gyms were for single people. I was kinda surprised. I have never gone to the gym to pick up or meet people, nor have I met someone at the gym that I dated. I just don't really get that.
