OT: Wedding Cake toppers opinions needed : )

    I really like the first one. i would have gotten that one becuase they have Calla Lillies and that was my flower. So pretty!!

    I know I love Calla Lillies.......but I didn't end up getting them......they were more expensive than roses....And we're having a big wedding and wedding party. 8 bridesmaids and inviting 300 people. Of course only 200 will probably show. But anyway, yes I like that one too :flowerforyou:

    Just a word of advice... if you're inviting 300 don't expect that you will only have 200 show up (if you are working that into the budget) unless all those people have for sure told you they can't come....

    typically only 15-20% reply "no" on the rsvps.

    I just don't want you to get a shock! if about 40 more people come than expected!

    I just realized I never voted... I think # 5 is my favorite, #6 is my second. I like the elegance of 6, but am a little turned off by the silvery pearlescent base. That could be covered by flowers though... If you do that # 6 is my favorite

    Is Max paying you? If you look at the base and the dress of #6 I think they are the same color.

    But a good (honest) decorator will tell you to get a cake for about 2/3 your invited guests, because even if you invite 300 people, not all come. Besides that, not all people eat cake. And don't forget the ones who leave as soon as dinner is over, before the cake is cut... If you have cake questions feel free to PM me, I decorate cakes on the side. And yes, the sheet cakes will save you a bunch!

    I think that covering the base with frosting wouldn't look so good. Lumpy cake top and all that, lol... But I like the idea for the coloring the frosting. It's a pain to do silver though... I need that stuff that Duff uses on TV for his show... looks like a spray paint can!

    That porcelain one that I posted that we had at our wedding was on top of our cake. When you go in for a consultation with your decorator, if you have it with you, take it. That way, they can see how big the base is, and how heavy and tall it is.

    Our cake was also 3 tiers, and had no problem with the weight. We also had a fountain and flowers on the cake too...

    We've got RSVP's so we can always up the # when we give the vendors a final count. We're planning for 200-250. Alot of them are from FL, SC, and other states and probably won't make it. Just wanted to invite them. It's the thought that counts. :bigsmile:

    I have been looking and looking, and I want to revise my vote. I said #1, then #5 second place.

    I want to say #5 is better, and then #1 second place, because of what the other person said: the groom is only his head.

    it didn't occur to me before, but they're right.

    switch me to #5 (sorry Maxie)

    I don't care for the pearly stuff on Maxie's choice, ad the other very similar one-

    it could be a contender if they had it in all white porcelain like the others-

    Ok.....so ummmmmmmmmm.......I've narrowed it down to two of them. I did away with the calla lillies since it's not my flower of choice. And I picked #5 (#3 just seemed to be one that is used by alot more and I thought #5 was more original) But I found another one I think I like more than #5 that wasn't on the original list. :embarassed: But I'm not sure :ohwell: :bigsmile: :laugh:
