People that clutter up the news feed with facebook/twitter type babble making SUPPORTING my MFP friends that much harder as I have to weed through all the blah-de-blah-blah to get to the food and exercise posts!

Edited to add - yes sometimes I babble about something but not 10 times a day :)

The opposite of this -- I want to know a little more about you than what you ate and how much you worked out! Not a pet peeve, so much as a preference :-)

This. I'm interested in Dude lost 1lb, but I'm more interested in: Dude just started a new weight lifting routine and is doing great! Or Dude found a way to cut (xyz terrible thing) out of his diet! or Dude wants to know what his friends have done to reduce (sodium/fat/carbs/whatever) or Dude's NSVs. Or even Dude needs help resisting the gigantic cake sitting near his desk!

These are real interactions with MFP friends and much more meaningful to me.

My peeve is: People using the site feed as a circle jerk; not even reading diaries or looking at the exercises. Don't tell someone "Great healthy plan!" when they had 900 calories of twinkies and 400 calories of soda and were "Under."

The above is why I keep my friend's list short. I like reading diaries, and looking at exercises, and I appreciate like minded people.

(heh - yes, i find how long this quote is getting pretty funny)

I completely agree with the circle jerk "support". I refuse to say a damned thing about a diary until i read it. And then I <shocker> give tips on what i see.

My left turn signal is out.

I love the random postings. Oops! That's not a pet peeve.

I can violate whatever I want to.

    It's MY thread....................................

    wanna arm wrestle?

    this.

    Response to the OP...

I am kind of a spelling freak - but I don't usually post about it.

The long quotes - yah - they are a little bothersome... that scroll finger gets tired after a while.

Being deleted from a friend list for no apparent reason used to bother me - but now I could give a @#$%. (***Waving at the people that used to have me on their list. :flowerforyou: )

    Hey, Juleseybaby....................
They don't DESERVE to know someone as awesome as you!

Arm wrestle 'em to the GROUND, girl!!!!

And spellcheck them. It's the right thing to do.

People who post recipes only with a link to their blog and you click on it only for it to be a copy cat of some other low fat or diet recipe that's been around for years. (IE: kale chips, baked apple something or other, fake mashed potatoes (cauliflower) etc etc), or it's just a copy of a Hungry Girl recipe, tweaked to be "original".

    So over it.

    moving on...........

Threadjacking with random postings are a peeve of mine. Here's a funny pic of a monkey licking a window:

Another is the people whose profile shot is pornographic. Like the guys with the 6-pack abs whose slacks barely cover their privates. I realize that I may be in the minority on this one....LOL

I kinda like the guys with the 6-pack abs. Don't get to see them much in real life......lol

Mine is the "fitness police" who troll the forums and think they know everything.... they know what worked for them, not for everyone. Yes, I find it awesome to hear their stories, but no I don't need to read a post with 50 people jumping on one person who asks about a cleanse or something that isn't the "fitness police" preferred method of losing weight!
Now, remember... they are posing questions to the public forum. Why would anyone not expect to receive some different opinions?

Many members are kind enough to provide reputable and accurate information -- not anecdotal personal information -- to answer other member's questions. You may be assuming that they are providing info for something that worked for them, but many times, it's reputable, helpful info -- not anecdota

You may call them "fitness police". I call them "mythbusters" that are out there, trying to help others with accurate information.

And God knows only they are able to quote studies to support their accepted method of doing anything ( really chaps my *#€£¥>)

Mine is how many people say they wanna "loose" weight instead of "lose" weight. I know misspellings are all over the Internet (their/they're/there, your/you're, etc.), but this one is rampant on MFP. And when you're a proud member of the Spelling Police, it really stands out. :)

OH my gosh SAME HERE!!! ITS LOSE PEOPLE!!!!!!! COME ON!!!!!!!

People who quote a reply that has already got like a dozen quotes. so 1 reply takes a whole page. and the people who "Bump" stuff - I get it to push it back up on the lists to get a reply, but if you want to come back to it later, just bookmark it. I hate a 15 page post that is 95% "Bump".

Honestly, I think the game threads are kinda dumb, like the "say the most obvious thing about the poster above you," or the "guess the age of the poster above you" threads. I don't participate, but they still annoy me when they pop up.

I probably have a gazillion more, but that's the only one that comes to mind right now.

It has recently come to my attention that I need to:

Post more about my daily life
Post less about my daily life
Be less critical about my friends' eating and exercise
Be more critical about my friends' eating and exercise
Not be afraid to ask questions before doing something stupid
Not ask any questions on the forum because I will look stupid
    Drink more water
    Eat my exercise calories
    Don't eat my exercise calories
Eat my exercise calories or I will go into starvation mode and die
The first rule of starvation mode is NEVER TALK ABOUT STARVATION MODE

    :frown:

    You win. :flowerforyou:

yes and when they don't use any punctuation they just go on and on and on and don't ever stop to take a pause and use run on sentences it makes it really hard to read as they just keep talking and subjects get all jumbled up i don't read these anymore:noway:
