    Thank you :)

(I think pretending to punch her is helping)

Funny stuff, that is what I found myself doing too!! I am now on level 2, good luck on the rest of your journey!

I just bought this DVD and plan to start February 1 to help get ready for my trip to Cuba in March. I am pretty nervous to do it!!

I do Zumba twice a week so I am thinking that maybe I should not do the 30 DS the days before Zumba (otherwise I won't be able to move). Does anyone else take off a day or two so they will be able to stay alive during their other workouts? If I only did 5 days a week would I see as much of a benefit?

Also would I need anything other than weights? I read something in here about a skipping rope, which I don't have.

Hey, I think you should definately give it a go :) nothing to be scared of! As annoying as Jillian can sometimes get in the beginning she is only thinkin gof us ( I hope)

I've done 8 days in a row so far day 9 is tonight and it got so much easier after day 3 to do. You feel like you've worked out but you don't feel like that drained feeling you can get.

AS for the skipping rope its not needed we just skip with a imaginary rope :) Just the weights you need but people substitute them too with other things. Good Luck x

You don't have to do the shred every day. I believe JM says 5 times a week is the optimum, so you're good to go.

Weights-wise, if you're planning on buying a set make sure they have flat sides - in Level 3 you have to plank while leaning on your weights and it's much easier if they don't try to roll away!

You don't need a skipping rope.

Yesterday was my first day and I wasn't sore all day long...until I was going to bed last night. That's when I felt it. Maybe it was because I was at work moving around all day I didn't get a chance to notice it. About to do day 2 in a few minutes. Hopefully the soreness won't hinder me.

I did it every day and packed it in after Day 3 Level 3. I think doing it every day was too much for me so I am starting again this week and doing it 3 times a week.

Today is day 5 of level one for me. Last week was my first week of MFP. I weighed in today and I have lost 4 lbs. I can totally see a difference in my abs, well, the fat on top of them is at least starting to go down....my arms are stronger and my legs are slimming down as well. I need to get a tape measure and measure but right now, I'm going on how loose my pants and shirts are getting. My husband can tell a difference as well. Another thing I do is I also do an hour of African dance on the Your Fitness Evolved 2012 workout on Xbox. It is a killer but I feel so so so good after! I wore a HRM yesterday during my 30DS workout and the amount of calories for circuit training is pretty accurate for the amount my HRM said....anyway, good luck to everybody! I start level 2 on Sunday and am actually looking forward to it!

If you like 30 day shred you really should try Ripped in 30. It is the next step up and it is AMAZING!
  • Started last week I've already lost 4 pounds. Yes it hurts..... but you have to stick with it to see results. I am so happy that I've decided to stick with it because as you lose the weight your pains will subside. Keep going!

HI ITS DAY 3 FOR ME I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND MY LEGS BURN TERRIBLY SO
  • I had the same issues with this DVD i lost 20 lbs 2 years ago doing it, its a wonderful program, and am losing doing it again, however I dont do it daily, I try to skip days here and there, but keep it to atleast 4 a week, combined with running the couch to 5k app the alternate days, sometimes doing both, and I am doing each level for two weeks. The first time I did it I hurt my shoulder and I had to stop, I pushed myself as hard as I could so be careful, it is a tough workout. On a side note, Has anyone alse actually yelled a tiny bit at Jillian on level one while attempting to the bicycle crunch....if so your not alone.

Finished day 5! :) I can do jumping jacks and jump rope without stopping now. Still a little winded but that's normal, right?

The 2 moves I HATE: Butt Kicks--i can not do these!!!!! I dont get how they can stay in on place...when I try im moving all over and my knee starts to hurt. :( I also hate Anterior raises...holy crap do these burn. I cant do more than 10 at a time. and the 8-10 are awful. lol.

hope everyone is doing well with it!

Today will be day 5 for me on Level 2. Getting a bit easier with each day but still a very hard level. Loving the results though. Down 6.8 pounds in 2 weeks! Not sure how many inches I've lost, going to measure at the end. Keep up the hard work everyone!!

Does anyone else have serious knee issues doing the shred?

I know it's not my form - I'm extra-careful about that, and I've also had personal training, so I do know how to do the moves properly. The butt-kicks, especially, are nearly impossible with my knees - something about that angular force coming down just *kills* them. I was just jogging in place during those this morning, instead.

I've ordered some bands for 'jumper's knee' - wondering if anyone else has used them, and whether they might help.

Yes I am exactly the same, very very sore knees, had to put ibuprofen gel on them after my workout last night ! 30ds is a killer ! All them lunges and squats :(

  • A friend and I are doing this one day a week and a different cardio workout on a different day. We do strength training Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and knew we needed a boost on our off days. I'm hoping to see results by the end of next month.

Level 3 started today! I really liked it! Jillian barked a lot less, so it was better! I can't wait to take my end measurements in 9 more days!

Just finished L1D3. I was SO happy Friday is my rest day because yesterday my legs hurt so badly I could barely walk around at work! Today killed me but hey now I'm 1/10th of the way through! Hoping to see a difference between the picture I took before starting day 1 and a new picture at the end of 30 :)
