oh Phoebe - i'm so sorry. My thoughts are with you and yours. Please drive carefully.

Jeffrey - GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!!! And do you also work a job???? I can't imagine having TIME to do all that! I feel like i'm doing pretty well making it to the gym 3 times a week, yoga twice (or course - it IS bikrams), and walking the dogs on my "off" days!!!!!!! Wow - you're impressive! Looking forward to you posting your pics! So cool that you've lost 68 pounds! Not much more to go either! Awesome! Oh - and please tell us more about your girls!

Marie - please let us know what the eye doc said!

Sandy - don't worry about making it all about you sometimes! Aren't there some homeopathic things that you can do? or some nutritional things for macular degeneration????

    Everyone be well! elli

My sympathy to you and your family Phoebe. :brokenheart: Thanks Elli for understanding. I do take eye caps for my eyes, but really haven't looked into homeopathic but I will now, thanks.
Jeffrey, I would be willing to try the tai chi, but will it tone or burn calories? Will check it online to see how it works. Thank you.
I just love that you were hugging your hubby all day Marie, you sound like a match in heaven.

Making dinner now, broiled chicken breasts, some rice and broccoli and a salad. Should have some calories left over for a snack tonight.

Enjoy the rest of this day and take one day at a time.

The dogs and cats have been fed and it's nearly time for us to eat and I'm finally sitting down to say hello to all of you.

:flowerforyou: Phoebe: I'm so sorry to hear about Jim's dad.  What a blessing that you were able to spend so much time with him before he left you:smile: . Be safe heading home. Let us know that you got there safely.

:flowerforyou: We've been married for twenty years but this is my second marriage and his fourth. We had to kiss a few toads before we got it right:laugh:  We;ve had some bumps in the road but we try to live a spiritual life and practice spiritual principles so we've made it through the tough times.:smile: Congrats on your bingo win. Bingo is so much fun and even better when you win.

:flowerforyou: Marie, good luck with your eye challenges. Seeing is so useful. I have an 84 year old cousin that I talk to once a week and every week she tells me, "Old age is the pits." and then tells me that everyone she knows agrees with her.

:flowerforyou: Jeffrey, you are an inspiration with all the exercise that you do. I agree with you that it's important to keep on doing stuff as long as you are able. If you want to add friends, you go to the profile page of the person you want to add as a friend and there's a box that says "add as a friend" or something like that. If you click on that box, it will tell you what to do next. The way you get to each person's profile, you click on their name above their picture on the message they post on our thread. What a great idea to add each other as friends.

I just figured out that the bottles of water we buy at the store are 16 ounces so I think I'm drinking more water than I realized. :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Enjoy the rest of the day.:flowerforyou:

I got back OK from the eye Doctor this afternoon and just now beginning to see better after all the drops he put in my eyes. They had to used them 3 times before they got my eyes open enough for the docter to take pictures. But he said I was doing real good. He has got me on some kind of tear drops now so maybe that eye will start to feel better now..And actually said I was seeing better. [So he says]

Sandy---Hope you don't have problems with your eyes. like your brother.. Our eyes are so prescious. Even if you can't see as good as you used to. What sight we have is better than none. I can still drive the car some, But i don't drive far. Lucky for us We have a WalMart about a mile from the house But Jerry take me when we go grocer shopping. eye Doctor and etc. He is 4 years younger than me. And he is in fairly good shape.

Barbie---You write such neat post. I enjoy reading them so much.

    elli----Go girl go
You look as young as your boys. What a way to go.

biggramma---You have sone so good on your weight loss. I am so proud of you.

Jeffrey, You are the salt of this club.

Jake--- Keep an eye on Barbie she is a sweetheart.

Phoebe, My friend You and Jim have been on my mind allday. The weather is nice but do be careful driving back home.

Well friends this old gal is tired and I think I will go and see what Jerry is watching on T.V

Hugs to all. Marie  Sandy I think I will just sign my real name and then I wont have to stop and think how I will sign. and confused everybody.

hi friends - hope everyone had a great day!

Marie - i'm so glad the eye doctor said you're seeing better:laugh: just so long as YOU think you are!!!!!!!! And thank you! you made my night, even though i don't look quite that young! lol.

I love all of your posts!

Sandy - i'm pretty sure my friends fil has that macular degeneration and i'm pretty sure there is something either homeopathic or nutritional or maybe both. Anyway - hope you can find something. I'll ask my friend tomorrow too. We work together.

Barb and Jake - you two are lucky and SMART! You finally got it figured out GREAT! I figure at this point in my life i'm pretty much on my own. And actually - i'm ok with that. But i just love it when people our age have these great marriages! It's my hope and prayer for both my sons.

I sure hope Phoebe and Jim are doing all right. Hopefully they're home by now. If you're there Phoebe i'm thinking about you.

I did hot yoga tonight and then came home and ate cereal with yoghurt, fruit and nuts. My favorite supper! I hope i lose another pound this week. It's SO slow now........oh well, as long as i'm not gaining!

OK everyone - have a great night! and happy friday tomorrow!:drinker: elli

    Good Morning Everyone!

Another sunny but cold day here. :grumble: Marie, glad your eye doctor said your eyes are better than last time, always good to hear good news. Elli, I didn't get a chance to research the internet yesterday but will today, thanks so much for your concern.
Today is my Wii Fitness Coach for an hour and since it is Friday no meat today. Will be going to our soup and salad at our Church for dinner, since my daughter in law works it. She will be brining the four year old over this afternoon so she can set it up.

After being at a standstill with my 5 pound loss, I finally lost another 2 pounds. My son's advice seems to be working and I am thrilled. It looks and sounds so good to say 137 after being in the 140's for so long. I am one happy lady. So don't any of you give up, if I can do it anyone can.

    Have a great day.

Marie- Our group has really grown. It is really fun meeting everyone and sharing a little of our lives.

BG- What is new with you?

I just got back from lunch with guys. Great grilled chicken sandwich with broccoli on the side instead of fries.

Beautiful sunny day here, but very chilly.

    Talk to you all soon!

oh Sandy - i'm very excited about your 2 pound weight loss! How long were you stuck at 5 pounds? And it's SOOOOO fun to break into a new number! hooo rayyyyyyy! I've been weighing myself everyday this week (yes yes - i know - dumb idea:grumble: ) and i too, seem to be stuck at 5 pounds. I feel like i'm eating too much, but at the end of most days i still have 200 - 400 calories left. I'll just keep on doing what i'm doing and try not to get discouraged. It's just going to be a month on monday that i joined.

Hi Biggramma - Happy first day of Spring to you too!:flowerforyou: It's cloudy here but warn. Supposed to get up in the 70s. I don't know what happened to our winter this year! I'm still expecting a big spring snow storm sometime in the next couple of months!

Marie - ummmmm, coconut cake! I bet it's YUMMY:smile: The good news is you can eat a piece and like you said, leave it THERE! Great plan!

Jeffrey - i'm so happy you now have a profile! Still waiting to hear more about your daughters!

    Happy Spring everyone:heart::flowerforyou: elli

Elli, I really think you should eat all your calories, and are you adding extra calories for all the work you do? It is really important to eat enough or your body hears that you are hungry and won't let you lose weight. Try it it works, I didn't believe it either but that is how I lost two more pounds.
    Am I right Jeffrey??

Happy Spring to you Bgamma, we miss you when you are not here.

Just got done exercising, now I need to take a shower and drink a protein shake.

    Check in later.

wow - it's just so hard for me to wrap my mind around that. When i lost all my weight a couple years ago i did it through MRC - metabolic research center. And i KNOW we were eating 1200 calories a day, period. No matter HOW much we worked out. I'm pretty sure that's why the weight "melted" off me!
I'll try you guys - i just ate a 400 calorie lunch, so that should help. And tonight i only work off about 400 calories - not hot yoga night. Thank you so much for all your input! elli

You all help me so much:bigsmile:

today at line dance lots of people were wearing pastels. I wore my black size 14 pants and I thrift shop denim shirt that is so much smaller than what I've been wearing.

:flowerforyou: Jeffrey: congrats on your weight loss. How long have you been working on this? Sticking to your plan to lose that much weight is very impressive. Your family must be delighted with your progress. I can't wait til you post some photos on your profile page.

:flowerforyou: Marie, I'm happy to hear the news of improvement in your eyes. Your husband, Jerry, sounds wonderful. You are so blessed to have him in your life and for such a long time, too. Wow!!
Your coconut cake sounds yummy. Right now I know that I can't eat just a little of a sweet thing so I stay away from sweets altogether. Leaving it behind sounds like a great idea.

:flowerforyou: Sandy, congratulations on your most recent two pound weight loss. You are an inspiration to me. You don't give up

Elli :flowerforyou: doesn't the weight get harder to lose the closer you get to your goal. Those last pounds love you so much that they just don't want to leave. Keep the faith. don't give up five minutes before the miracle. I, too, have trouble staying off the scale. I keep trying to get better and maybe I will soon.

BG:flowerforyou: Happy spring----keep up the good work and keep inspiring us.

It's a busy day here. the dogs are getting groomed. We used to do it ourselves but when Jake hurt his leg last spring and was off his feet for six weeks we needed help. The groomers are the teenage daughters in the family that bred our poodles. The girls groom the eight dogs at their house so they are as skilled as professionals. We have a grooming table and all the right equipment and they do all the work. We used to provide bagels, cream cheese, diet pop, cookies and all sorts of snacks for them but when we changed our eating plan we told them that they would have to bring their own food because we weren't buying any more snack stuff and soft drinks. we pay them a little more since we're not providing lunch. they are the ones who come over and look after the dogs if we have to go somewhere all day. I had a size extra large sweatshirt with poodles on it. I gave it to one of the girls because it's much too big for me now.

:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
Have a glass of water and toast the first day of spring:bigsmile:

thanks Jeffrey for your vote of confidence! I'm really trying to eat all my calories today!

Barb - congratulations on giving away too big clothes!!!!!!! Dontcha just LOVE that??????? I know - these last pounds definitely do NOT want to leave but i'm determined. Even if it takes awhile.

I'm pretty tired - did the elliptical and the treadmill today plus took the dogs on 2 walks. I'm figuring out differet directions to go so we can avoid the dead cow:sick: Then when i came home i started working in a different room in my house - my son Dillon's old room that has red paint on all the woodwork. Well, now i discovered underthe red paint, is this AWFUL lime GREEN paint. Getting it all off is going to be a chore. One board at a time i guess. I'll go back over around 10 or 11 tonight and put stripper on so i can work on it in the morning.

For now, i'm going to eat my probiotic bar (yum!) and watch a movie! talk to you all tomorrow!

80 degrees in California??? I am so jealous Bgamma. Doesn't it seem impossible that we have children that are 50 (my oldest is 45) when we are still in our 50's?? It's exciting that your great granddaughter is coming for two weeks, you will be exhausted when she leaves, but what fun for you.

Happy Saturday to everyone, my granddaughter is making her Confirmation this morning so I will check in with you later.

    Have a happy day.

Good Morning Biggramma and Sandy, you guys are up and at them this morning.

Biggramma--- Enjoy your great granddaughter. I remember keeping my grandaughter years and years ago. We would go by a fast food place [yes they had them back then] get some food and go to the park and watch the ducks and people go by. Now she is old enought to have a grandbaby for her oldest is married now. Where did the time go. My oldest will be 57 in July and the youngest if 52.

Sandy----I sure hope you don't have the same problems as your brother with you eyes.

Hey guys I think I have got you all on my friend on my profile, Thanks.. And since we are taking about profile my Daughter Alice is on mine as Gemfrier so if I come uo missing you can get in touch with her. She would be glad to hear from any of you at anytime. She is losing really good. Her and her husband are going on an Alaska Cruise in May. And she is trying to lose as much as possible She post on another thread. She is doing much better than her Momma. But she is younger.

All the rest of you have a happy day

    Hi you all,

Just a quick check in, it's great to see that us old guys are still hanging on. Got new cloths yesterday and Thursday had to because the cloths that I couldn't get into three months ago are hanging off me. I looked like a fourteen year old boy with rapper pants. And we all know that "crack" is not appealing on a man in his mid-sixties. Anyhow got a couple of mediums instead of the usual larges. First new cloths I bought in five years that were for fun rather than for necessity because of ever increasing weight. Cool.

Be safe and remember the water. Go Mariners!!!!:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

Happy spring morning. It was 29 degrees when I took the dogs to walk on the hill at 7:00 but it's warmer now.

We just came back from a shopping orgy:bigsmile:   I found two new pairs of pants---size 12, a little snug but now that I'm thinking of getting thinner they will be perfect. I realized that I have been buying "roomy" pants for years because in the back of my mind I expected to gain, not lose, weight.

Earlier today I packed up two huge denim jumpers, two huge denim shirts, a flannel shirt and four pairs of size 16 pants and took them to the thrift shop so maybe someone who's thinning down from size 18 or 20 will be excited about being able to buy something nice in size 16.

Sandy and BG, you both are wonderful grandparents. How great that you get to have your grandkids in your life.

Our kids and grandkids live about 700 miles from us. We had a great visit with them in October when the newest grandbaby was born. We'll be heading down again in May in our motorhome with the pets for another visit. Our grandkids range in age from 5 months to 19 years.

Sandy, that's a beautiful new picture on your post:bigsmile:

We took the dogs with their new haircuts to the dog park this morning and they got lots of compliments.

We're headed for an early dinner at the Vietnamese restaurant with some friends from out of town. I had oatmeal, applesauce, and banana for breakfast and a 250 calorie Isagenix shake for lunch so my dinner won't be a huge problem for my daily calorie count. There's a great veggie and tofu stir fry on the menu that will be a good choice. They also have some veggie spring rolls that aren't deep fried.

Ellie, continued good luck on your house. You are such a hard worker, I'm glad you treated yourself to a break last night. Won't the house be fun when you're all done.

Big hugs to all:heart::heart:  drink more water:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

How is everyone else doing today? Stil enjoying the warm weather Bgamma?

Time to chill out and watch a little TV. I watched my calories today, but didn't get in any exercise. Sunday I usually take the day off from exercise but will make it up tomorrow.

    Calliecat,

Barb is off with the girls to the dog park, pretty cold out so I'm avoiding it today. I normally cleanse on Monday but I have to meet with a couple of guys tomorrow so I'm doing it today. So I expect I'll call my son, spend a little time on the exercise bike, clean my clubs, watch a couple of movies, flirt with Barb and let the chips fall where they may.

We're getting some hedge roses from a close friend this week so I have to do some measuring on out property line also. If the weather is nice we'll wash the cars and go for a ride in the red one, top down is preferred, of course.

Right now it's off to another cup of tea and the Sunday paper.
