    TGIF:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

We've all worked hard all week (even those of us who are retired:bigsmile: )

this was a red letter day for me.  At line dance today two women said that it looked like I'd lost weight. I've been happy enough just noticing it myself and since I'm doing this for myself, I didn't need any outside praise.

I've been recording the figure skating world championships to watch while I ride the exercise bike.

Jake is playing golf so I have the house to myself for a few hours (except for cats and dogs who either demand my attention or sleep)

We're going to hear a speaker tonight at an event preceded by a potluck. We're going to skip the potluck and eat our regular planned meal and then go just for the speaker.

Happy weekend to all of you. Let's all stick to our plans and grow healthier every day.

Sounds to me like you have it in your mind to succeed.:drinker: :drinker: You are planning ahead and having fun doing it. :flowerforyou:

Sandy, I do not have any skills with this computer. I write down the problems I have and when Alice my daughter comes out she get me back on track till I forget again and she has to go over it again.. She checks everything out for me. My other daughter Kathy could care less about being on the computer and really don't knows beans about it. When you get back I will go thru the steps with you on how to post your pictures if you like too. I think I got it down pretty good now. And I love to post pictures just because I can.

Good luck , I know you are a proud Gramma. Is your husband going with you. It is so nice that you can go. You are a Go Go gramma.

Keep it up Sandy and you will stay young forever. And thanks for sticking with us. I enjoy your post so much.

    Love, Marie
I wish I could put pictures on the replys and stuff. I can post them on my home page but I can't do anything else. If you have some easy tips let me know.:drinker: :flowerforyou:

    Good Morning, All

It's raining a bit here but I promised the dogs that I'd take them to the dog park. My clothes are machine washable and they are poodles so we knew we'd be fine. They ran and played for more than half an hour and I walked. Their friends, the three Australian Shepherds were there and a good time was had by all.

We survived the potluck last night by eating at home and just going to visit with friends and listen to the great speaker after dinner.

Today is a day for chores and paperwork.

Have a happy day.  :flowerforyou:    :flowerforyou:  :drinker: :drinker:

Hi Elli, I saw you house on your profile. That is really a make over for your house. gonna look great when finish. Alice has lost 27 lbs here on this site. she is old enough to be with us but preferred not to right now. She is on May 15 challenge and doing great. Her and her husband are going on a cruise to Alaska in May and trying to trim up. Gonna be an electricon/. You seems to be able to do anything you make up your mind to. Keep it up.

Barbie is really doing so great and her husband too. I wish I had her will power. I can stay so good for a while and i just have to have a cheat day and I want more and more. She is right if you don't get off you will not be craving all the bad stuff. Keep telling us more Barbie. Maybe we can pick up some of your good habbits.

I guess everybody else is taking a day off. I know Sandy is having a ball in Detroit.

anyway hello to you, see you when you get here Bye

hi Marie - thank you - it's a lot of work (my house) but i know it's going to be worth it. I went and chose some colors today before going to the electric class.........i hate shopping and not very good at it, so we'l have to see if what i picked will work. Thank GOD my amazing friends are helping me with all this!

Oh MAN - Alice has lost 27 pounds?!?!?!? THat is AWESOME! The Alaska cruise sounds so great. Alaska is the only state i've never been to and REALLY want to go sometime. I want to drive there tho.

I know what you mean about Barbie and her willpower - i'm just so impressed how well she handles all those "social" situations you know? I always use those as an excuse to eat forbidden stuff!:embarassed: Oh well.............

Well, i have to go back to my house at midnight to put the stripper on some more paint - it has to sit overnight - so i can work on it tomorrow. I'm going to eat some vanilla yogurt and apples now.

Everyone have a good Saturday night! See you here soon!

    and hugs! elli

Elli, I hope you have heat in your house that you are making over. You must be a night owl.

I put a pot roast in crock pot last night so Jerry dinner is already for him. will make him some noodles and english peas.

Don't know for sure what I will have. Alice is coming out and we will go out to eat and do a little shopping. May take some of my salad dressing and have a nice veggie salad. without any chicken for it is just too high in sodium. Had greek yogurt this morning and fresh straberries , 1 sl whole wheat toast.for sodium is bad for me.

well time to hop in shower and get dress before Alice get here. I have a couple things for her to check out on my computer. I am so thankful that I have a daughter, Alice that take time out out her busy life to spend with me. Kathy come out some but not on a regular basic. Bruce my son live in St. Louis Lucky to see him once a year. Jerry daughter by another marriage live in Pa.. Bruce and Alice is by my first marriage and Kathy belong to me and Jerry.

    Have a wonderful day.

Good Morning to all:bigsmile:

Elli, you are amazing---going to a wiring class so you can do your own wiring in your house. And then choosing colors on top of that. I lived in a house by myself for two years awhile back and left the walls white because I couldn't decide among all the colors I liked and then I was afraid that the colors wouldn't look as good on the walls as they did on the paint chips. You are a very courageous person.

Marie, I've seen some web sites with recipes for people who want to cook low sodium. There are lots of good recipes. Jake was told to lower his sodium intake by the cardiologist so I am always looking for new ideas. Right now we have three different kinds of Mrs. Dash seasonings on the table to spice up what we eat without sodium. Olives are our big downfall. How nice that you have family that comes by. We'll go see our kids and grandkids 700 miles away in May. They have big families so it's hard for them to come up here.

Last night we had another chance to "Say No to Birthday Cake". I saw a friend at this party who had "lap band" surgery about five years ago and has lost a ton of weight and kept it off. She is the one who inspired me to bring my own food to any event that might be a problem. Talking to her was an inspiration for me. She's done it with the help of a 12 Step program. One more piece of evidence that we can't do this alone.

Today is my weigh-in day and I'm down three more pounds:bigsmile:

The dogs want to go to the park so I gotta go.
Big hugs and have a happy day.   :flowerforyou:    :flowerforyou:

Hi foks! Although I am new here I don't really feel new. I have been lurking here for some time. Marie and Phoebe and I have been friends for a long time and Elli is a new friend so I do know some of you. I have been hesitant to join your chat as I have not been following a diet (not that I don't need to) and haven't been doing my exercise (again not that I don't need to) so I feel rather like a fraud joining you motivated and hard working folks. I do need to lose 75 pounds but would be happy with 50. I would be really happy if I woke up one morning and I was svelte but so far that hasn't happened.

I will tell you a bit about myself because I do know a bit about all of you. I am 59, employed part time. I am a nurse and work as an Early Childhood Consultant. I have loved my job for 26 years but do look forward to my retirement in December. My husband and I just celebrated out 38th wedding anniversary last week. We have 3 sons, one still at home. Neil, my son at home, is mentally and physically challenged. He has just had orthopedic surgery (one of several) and has had a few complications. He has been a bear to live with many of these post-op. days. Usually he has a nice gentle personality so it has been trying to say the least.

We are planning some renovations to our home, not huge knock out the wall kind but hopefully new floors and paint will perk up the house.

I better stop talking or I won't have anything to tell you next post. If you think I shouldn't be posting here until I get my dieting act together I completely understand.

Have a wonderful Sunday. Keep smiling. Gayla

Hey Gayla, You ought to have seen my face light up when I seen your. name here. Welcome abroad. I didn't know you was on Part time. Good for you. Now you can get ready to plant your garden here fairly soon.

you will really love it here. The gals and guys [ can't leave out Jeffrey and Jake] are such an inspirations. Just listen to Barbiecat she had some really good tips. So does the others.
Thanks for the update on Neil, Bless his heart. Miss hearing about the other 2 boys too. Quint still a chef. I bet he still like Momma's cooking. 39 years together thats a long time. You still cook a big dinner for all the family on Sunday. What's for dinner?

Alice came out we went to Texas Road House for lunch. Did real good Had Chopped steak with grilled onions, salad and a baked sweet potaoes without honey butter.. They are so sweet and moist you really don't need any butter. Then to the 1/2 price book store. dress shop. Bed bath and beyond. Got me some of those hangers that fold down so you closet is not so full. That will be my job tomorrow But low and behold We stop at Sonic and got a small icecream My cheat for this week.

Barbiecat, Phoebe, Elli, Sandy, Jeffrey, Biggramma, Jake, Caliecat and now Gayla

Love to all of you. You guys are really special to me even me:heart::heart: Marie

hi everyone - i took a break from the house to come have lunch and say hi!

Barbie:happy:  you lost another THREE pounds?!?!?!?!? omg!!!!!! that's AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow is my weigh day - i'll be thrilled if i lose ONE! No - i'm not that amazing - i have amazing FRIENDS!!!!!! The wiring class kind of overwhelmed me but my friend Jennifer went with me and she's ALL excited that we're doing it! Today we measured every room and made a drawing of the electric stuff we have and the stuff we want to add......this guy at home depot is going to take a look at it for us too. And i'm the same as you with colors! I've lived in this house for almost 22 years and NEVER painted a room until now! I guess i'm just playing catch up!

Hi Gayla! Glad to see you here! Sorry about your sons surgery - hopefully he's less grumpy today! Your job sounds awesome - i love kids! I'm a CASA, although i don't have a case right now because i'm renovating my house as well!

Marie - actually i'm a morning person - i have to MAKE myself stay up late to go put the stripper on the wood. BUT i discovered the wood i'm working on today only has to sit a few hours with the stripper so i'm getting a LOT done! I keep that house at 45 degrees so the pipes won't freeze but then whatever room i'm working in at the time i run a space heater. It's not too awful! Got a little more siding a roof on today!

Today started off so great for me - my son in Iraq was online and we got to talk for awhile! He's only got 5 months left! yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!! We can't WAIT!

OK - i'm heading back to strip more wood trim and doors!!!!!! Happy Sunday everybody!!!!!! elli

    Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone had a good weekend! We got to see our youngest yesterday and had supper with her. She is starting to get ready for another beauty pagent that will happen in July. She will be home from college the second week of May. We are planning to go Gatlinburg, TN this Thursday through Sunday. We will be bringing our oldest daughter home with us. Her and her boyfriend will be meeting us there and we will bring her home with us and then she will fly back later next week. I finally talked my wife into another cat. We went to the animal rescue shelter and looked at them I found a one year old, long hair, black in color, tom cat that is very laid back. We also visited a gray male kitten that is about 7 months old. He was a real hand full. I think that the black one will be less of a shock to the other 2 cats. The oldest of our cats is 18 and the other is about 5. So our house is about to get livelier!
I just hate to see those cats in a shelter. My wife told me I could only get one!

Gayla- Welcome! It is nice to cyber-meet you! LOL I hope your son is feeling better.

Elli- Wonderful about your son coming home soon. I have one of my friends there now too. I worry all the time about all of our troops there and I am ready for them to come home! Very impressive about the house. We restored a victorian about 15 years ago. It took 7 years of constant work, but it was beautiful when we got done. We really made out on it. We had about 4400 square feet under roof when it was done. It was fun, but I don't care to repeat it! LOL

Barbie- Congrats! Keep going kid! I am starting doubles again this week. I am bound and determined to crack 70 pounds soon! But GREAT for you!

Marie- sounds like you have been busy! Good for you! We made beef stew Saturday and it was great. I am having leftovers today for lunch! Take care my friend!

Everyone else! Have a beautiful Monday!

    Jeffrey
