Stacey, you know, I went way over on cals today at lunch and I had to bust my tail exercising this afternoon. The neighbor baked cookies for me and the boys. So sweet, I couldn't say no could I?! But, I did my exercise and so manage to have a decent dinner. That's what I love about this site. Before I would have eaten the cookies, and then had no clue that dinner needed to be lighter or I needed to burn off them cookies

Tazzy, I'm glad you mentioned about the nursing in conjunction with the lighter period. This is my first time ever nursing this long. Derald went 3 mo. and Gavin 6 mo., but Gabriel is 9 mo. old and still nursing well, (YAY). So I've never gotten to this part where my period is trying to start AND I'm still nursing. This is a clever thought that I had missed. I was thinking it might be from the new exercises, but I'm not that consistent or frequent or whatever. I think you might be onto something here. Thanks!:flowerforyou:

Well, it's 11:04 here in Alaska...what the heck am I doing at the computer still?! Good night everybody.

i forgot all about the period thing too.
i got mine back while nursing at 6 months pp/ #1,-3 months pp/#2 and the last two were 15 months old before it came back...niiiiiiice! i dont know why the last two were different. with the last 2 around 11 months i spotted every few weeks but that was it untill 15 months
ooops wrote inside the quote thing

Those are my favorite weigh-ins. Good for you for following a child lead weaning approach. I'm struggling with this right now. Both my boys weaned themselves at 11-11.5 months. My daughter will be 1 the beginning of April & sooooo doesn't want to give it up. I'm having inner turmoil!

    Morning ladies,

I've been MIA for a couple days, although I have been sticking to my plan. :)

Sometimes I just get so busy, days go by and I barely realize they are passing. I have a small home business and it seems like any time I do get a minute, I am working rather then getting any me time at all.

I am being a little obsessive about the scale and I have to stop it. I was down 5 pounds last week and a couple days ago, I was down 2. Today, it was the same, which frustrated me, and that is just silly. I need to start weighing myself only once a week.

I've started getting excited about hiking season coming. I'm in Canada, so it's still pretty cold here, and even moreso in the mountains. But, in a couple months, we can head out and start hiking again. Finally, a year that I am neither pregnant or have a newborn. Last time that was the case was 4 years ago. The kids are still little, so we might not go too far, but I can't wait to go at all.

This is a great motivator for me, because next summer, I want to go backpacking again. And I won't be physically capable of it if I don't lose weight. I've gone on longer trips at my ideal weight and 15 pounds above it. Even the extra 15 pounds made it tough; I can't imagine doing it with the extra 60 I have now.

what great motivation! good for you! i weigh myself all the time, but i don't record it on the site till a # sticks for a few days. for me, having just one weigh in day is too stressful. i prefer the constant feedback, tho i am finding i'm more at ease with the # if it goes up a bit. i just work harder/eat better to get it back down. i'm not doing msmrments yet, but i can tell by looking in the mirror and how clothes feel.
    so, keep at it! :flowerforyou:

hope you all have a great day today! i'm taking #2 and #3 to the childr museum (it's not that big of a deal, they put way more money into the casinos!). they are so looking forward to it.

    GOOD MORNING--

Wicked Witch of the East here checking in-- for you may remember she is much worse than her sister, the Witch of the West, who had a house dropped on her. No doubt my children believe I'm the worst one, this day.

This morning I took a literal interpretation of scripture to my beloved offspring. There is a verse, "If a man shall not work, he shall not eat." Waking up and descending into the abyss, otherwise known as the "children's floor" of our humble abode (a bi-level) I saw that indeed a cyclone had struck. (continuing with the Wizard of Oz metaphor, naturally)

I awoke my beloved offspring who are supposed to, as scripture teaches, rise and call me blessed. Puh-- not this morning, they didn't. I'm afraid to find out what they were calling me. I heard somebody mutter "Miss Hannigan," LOL-- the caregiver from Annie's orphanage. That one cracked me up-- she's my hero.

I put them all to work immediately telling them breakfast would not be served until the entire house was clean and the numerous baskets of laundry that needed folding, et cetera were tended.

I'm pleased to report my home is now blissfully clean-- until lunchtime no doubt.

Had a lovely 3 plus mile run, and now must head to work--

Blessings be yours this day, my friend

Great job whipping those kids into shape, Miss Hannigan! :) I'm sure they will rise up and call you blessed someday when they realize how hard you worked to teach them necessary life skills to be responsible adults. :)

How are you managing to have NO sweets until May 1st? You must have steel will power!

Also - do you know how many miles a 5K run translates into? I've been running about 2 1/2 miles and am ready to start adding a little. I know 5K runs are common community events and I wondered how much farther I have to go to be in shape for such a thing!

Writer-- 5k is 3.1 mile-- you're almost there!!!!!!! Go for it, my good woman!!!

And you know-- the funny thing about my willpower is I have extremely good power in this forum when challenged-- I did a no sweets thing with Sara Beans and others from Halloween until Thanksgiving and totally beasted it-- not one bite, no nibble, nuttin until Pecan Pie on Thanksgiving Day--

But, with no challenges and just lil' ol' me-- crash and burn, my friend-- crash and burn. I log the calories, but they're still empty, rotten calories-- so I'm thankful for another challenge to bolster me up.

Who knows-- maybe I'll make my goal by my birthday yet-- fingers crossed.

I'm not sure if these stores are near you, but check this out:

    http://www.tuesdaymorning.com/indexCatalogOff.asp

Or, there's overstock.com but their stuff is usually "designer" cheap which equals, not really cheap at all. check out eBay, too!
