today: 166.1 (+1.6)
Took a 4 day hiatus from working out due to massive sinus gunk, started working out again yesterday. I'm wondering if some of this over night gain is water since I am a bit sore this morning. Guess we'll find out as the week wears on! Last week too, I dropped more pounds than I should've in a week, maybe that was a false drop and I was down on my water as well as I was taking the GOOD decongestants.....
Happy Valentine's Day!0 -

Forgive me for I have sinned. I am daily weighing in addict, I could not go all week without knowing how I'm doing. I post a weekly weigh in on tuesday keep a record of my daily weight in. I am 56 years old in May have been married 32 years have two sons, one of 30 this year and the other one 24 we live in Surrey in the UK my older son is living in Perth in Australia who I miss really badly. I have now being dieting 184 days my start off weight was 341 lbs. 7 oz. as of this morning's weigh in 284.2 oz hich gives me a total of 57 lbs. 5 oz.
Wich is a shame because the last few weeks I have really struggled and gained 4 lbs. 7 oz. even though I have kept to my calorie intake and carried out some exercising.
I enjoy giving support to others and I enjoy receiving it back if you feel you'd like to befriend me then send me a friend equest, with a little bit of background information and a Christian name.

I usually weigh myself 3 times a day.
Once in the morning (my official weight)
Once when I get home from the gym after work (my wishful thinking weight)
Once before I go to bed (compared to my following morniing weight it lets me know if my metabolism is still working)
I use all of this information to keep myself on track and make sure that everything is still working properly.

I'm a daily weigher too, first thing in the morning only. It isn't an addiction for me - if I'm in a rush for an early appointment, I skip it no problem, but with rare exceptions, it's part of my morning routine now. It isn't meaningless as some people would have had me believe. I have discovered many benefits from weighing daily.
1. Accountability to myself. It keeps me honest and focused on my goal. I know how much I hate to drive the scale up by indulgence - this has kept me from overdoing it many, many times. I can't live in denial when I face the scale every day.
2. Understanding the unique ways my body responds to various things - food, sleep, exercise, hormones - the patterns are there if you are paying attention, and you can use them to advantage, both mentally and physically.
3. Motivation - the scale is my daily launching pad into another day of eating healthy.
4. I am a bit desensitized to the 'number' now. This is a good thing. I have finally internalized the fact that there are many markers of health - weight is just ONE of them. I no longer feel shame in telling someone what I weigh today - it isn't who I am, it's just what I weigh.
My low weight (a few days ago) is 195.8 This morning I weighed 197.0. My starting weight was 252. I am shooting for 135.0 -

Yesterday I was 145.... today 142 and the scale was going back and forth between 141/142. WTF!!!! So much fluctuation.... That is one reason why daily weigh in is a good idea for me - once a week can be misleading.0

212.7 again today. Pretty happy about that as yesterday was my spike day!!!0

yesterday morning: 166.1
this morning: 166.7
I haven't been going over in cals, AND I did a new burnout workout yesterday. This must be water....working out in combo with salty dinner last night?0 -
Hi I'm Jenn, Mother of 2 teenagers, divorced almost 3 years now. I weigh myself every morning before breakfast to keep myself on track. I know my weight will fluctuate over the course of the week due to salt intake and water but if I notice my weight climbing more than two days in a row I can adjust what I'm eating right away rather than after i've gained 2 pounds.
I am certainly not obsessed with scale I go by how I feel and after 2 years of doing this I know my body well enough to know when the scale is going to be up or down.
I have finally found a plan (lifestyle change) that works for me and all I want to do now is tell everyone i know who was just like me trying to lose weight with no or little results.
If you need help, support, ideas or simply a kick in the *kitten* add me!! hahahaha0 -
I probably go about this completely wrong, but I also weigh myself everyday and I only count the weight on the days that I lose. It gives me a sense of victory and of constantly marching forward even after I have a bad day. I also get on the scale in the morning and in the evenings so I can see how my day has been.0

i love those! one of the biggest things i have discovered is how a glass of wine affects my weight the next day. it really makes me think 'is this going to be worth it?' and sometimes it is, but many times it is not.0 -
