    FEBRUARY GOALS (a bit more than January)
    Swim: 15 miles (anything over 12 is progress)
    Bike: 200 miles (I might go completely insane doing that on the trainer)
    Walk/Run: 32 miles (anything over 30 is progress)

    1. 1.84 mi 31 min walk/run and 9 mi 37 min bike on trainer
    2. 8.33 mi 37 min bike and 1.14 mi 45 min swim
    3. 2.00 mi 34 min walk/run and 1.02 mi 37 min swim
    4. 20.09 mi 83 min bike on trainer
    5. 11.17 mi 45 min bike on trainer
    6. 2.70 mi 45 min walk/run and 1.14 mi 47 min swim
    7. 8.18 mi 30 min bike on trainer and 1.02 mi 60 min swim (with the tri group)

    This sounds like fun. Question on the bike- if I'm on a spin bike in the studio at the club and it doesn't have an odometer, is there a general rule of thumb to calc distance based on time spent on bike?

    You could probably assume your mileage is between 15-17 per hour at a moderate resistance level on the spin bike

    I figure it based on what my effort feels like and what I know that would translate to on the trainer. But, if you don't ever ride a trainer, it's harder to guess.

    Since I rarely top 16mph on the trainer, my estimates would be lower, say 16mph for very hard and consistent effort, 14 mph for moderate effort, etc.

    I have been so slack at posting this month. I took it easy last week, because I was tired, and trying to catch a cold. I am back into my regular routine, and stronger than ever! Look like many of you are doing great this month. Keep it up!

    February's turning out to be a bit of a rubbish month for me. Hurt my shin at the beginning of the month, and have been battling some kind of fluey-coldy nastiness this week. So I doubt I'll hit my original goals for Feb now, but I'm still going to try!

    When ya gonna swim, Carlton?

    I want to get the swim miles in, but I may not have enough time and energy to get to it this month. The pool swim lanes have been busy in the evenings. Also, I joined a local Tri team (Swim-Bike-Run) to compete in the USA Triathlon National Challenge this month (http://www.race-tracker.net/usat/standings_athletes.cfm). We're competing with 87 other teams to compile the most running mileage for the month of February. We're in 2nd place in our division and 5th place overall right now. I'm trying to stay in the top 100 group of runners through the end of the month. I'm currently ranked 73rd out of over 1,100 people.
