WOW - that is awesome. You're doing well. Keep it up girl.

Do any of you follow the new Curves eating plan? If so, how do you like it? What don't you like about it? I'm considering buying the book but that is just another $10.00 spent on trying to lose weight:grumble:

    Have a great day girls.

    Where are you guys?

I went to Curves and didn't really get 100% even though it's my 100% day on the smart machines. I am not feeling well but wanted to go anyway. Don't need any extra excuses to not workout

Hope you all are having a great day.

I looked into the books, but decided I can do basically the same thiing by what I know from WW years ago and by this site. I've never been one to be able to eat exactly what's in a book, but I do know enough to make healthy choices most of the time. I didn't join Curves online either; this site seems to be working for me, as long as I make the time to work out consistently!

I'm feeling somewhat better today, but not even close to 100% yet. Hopefully I'll feel good enough to hit Curves tomorrow - today's my first day since Thursday that I haven't been napping at this time of the day - it really kicked my butt over the weekend!!

    Hope you feel better quickly.

Yes, that bug does seem to hit you hard. I have been blessed with it as well. It hit me Sunday morning. I"m drinking lots of water and airbourne and downing vitamin C's. Hopefully I will flush it through faster than my hubby did!

    Grammy-
I have all their books. I'll have to look for the latest one.
For the lower carb plan, they advocate 1200 calories, 25% carb, 45% protein. (I think that's right. I'll double check when I find the book.)
After 2 weeks, you increase to 1400 calories, then after a month you increase again. Then cycle back to 1200 calories.
I find that if I use this site with the other goals, it's even easier than following the book.

So, do they allow workout calories to be eaten or not? If I burn 600 on the machines and only eat 1200 that doesn't leave much for my body to live on for the day?
    Thanks

    Hello everyone!!
I FiNALLY made it back to Curves last night - burned 418 calories and managed to make it thru the whole workout and stretching without coughing my head off:laugh:  Felt good to work out again - I'm headed back there tonight, if all goes well.

Glad you got back to Curves. Good for you. It's tough when you first go back huh? I was going to go this morning but my nose just keeps running and I'm sneezing like crazy. Don't think they really want to see me today. :ohwell: Maybe tomorrow.

Made it to Curves last night - alternate workout day, so only burned 395 calories, but I should be able to burn a lot more tonight. Still have an annoying cough once in awhile, but FINALLY feeling like myself again- no nasty sinus headache - YEAH!!!! bigsmile:

    HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
Burned 460 calories last night - yeah!!!! Weight is plateaued at 129, but at least I'm getting some regular workouts in. It's hard to keep motivated now that the weather's nice - hubby isn't interested in walking after work, so if I don't make it to Curves I'm not getting any workout :ohwell: :ohwell:

Have a GREAT weekend!!

Good job. I haven't been since Monday. This bug has really taken all of my energy out of me. I"m going to try to go tomorrow morning. I don't think I'll use my card though because I know that I'll be moving slow and maybe not even be able to make the two times around. We'll see how I sleep tonight :ohwell:

    Have a great weekend everyone.

I only made it around 1 time and 3 machines. I just didn't have the energy to keep going after being sick for a week. Then I worked in the yard (slowly:indifferent: ) for 2 hours. Now, after a good soak in the tub and lunch down me I'm relaxing. HOpefully I didn't overdo:tongue:

    Have a great day,

Hang in there Grammy....... it's taken almost 2 full weeks for me to REALLY feel like myself again:laugh:  Still coughing sometimes, but definitely less than last week! I've made it thru the day so far without having to get a cough drop - Yeah!  Tiny victories.. gotta take 'em where you can get 'em.

Hitting Curves on the way home tonight - I'm afraid of the scale:grumble: :grumble: Had a great weekend; hit the lake both days, so tried to eat decently but still wasn't very successful. It's hard to be calorie conscious when you're at the lake.......... maybe because of alcohol??:drinker: :drinker: :ohwell: summer doesn't last forever!!

Thanks. I'll keep on trying - I just really want to get back to my 100% workout and enjoying it again.

Where are you going on vacation next month?

Where are you going on vacation next month?

    Esther

Dragging the boat to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri! :glasses: We love it there; 4th summer vacation there in 11 years, plus a couple of quick weekends without the boat. We rented a condo this time; looks to be much better than camping or the crappy resorts we've stayed in before!!!  We're staying in a quieter part of the lake this year; guess we're getting old when we prefer calmer water to the bars on the water scene!!:noway: :noway:

Burned 491 at Curves last night, and that was WITH a couple of coughing fits during the workout:grumble: :grumble: I can't wait until this crap is completely gone.... I'm tired of being sick:sick:

That sounds like fun. Hopefully the weather will cooperate too!

I'm going to curves again tomorrow morning. I didn't go this morning because I knew I would need to mow the lawn and get things caught up here and didn't think I had the energy to do both. I think I was right because I have been pretty week after mowing the lawn. I'm with you - can't wait to feel 100% again.

Actually got the hubby to walk with me last night.........amazing:laugh:  . 46 minutes, 3.5 miles per hour (or something like that). He and the dog only made it about 1 mile, but he's not been feeling too good due to new medication issues. We're trying to find something to get rid of the bacterial skin infection he brought back from Iraq last summer that won't react so harshly with sun exposure He's been miserable the past 2 weeks, burned horribly from minimal sun exposure even with SPF50+ on! He's a red-head, so that complicates things even more. They gave him a new antibiotic last night; will have to wait and see how he does this weekend......

headed to Curves tonight....... no more excuses!!!

Oh my. Sounds miserable for your hubby! Hopefully the change in medication will help!

I made it to curves and I made it the whole workout! I was pretty shaky and sweaty when I was done but I got my energy back much more quickly today than yesterday or Monday. So....I think I'm on my way to full recovery! Yippee!

Where are all of you other Curves Ladies!? We miss hearing from you.

    Have a great workout mk.

My PI was Increased by 17 yesterday, but I still managed to progress on 6 machines; burned 405 calories. Scale says 128.5 this morning - yeah!! SLOW progress is better than no progress, right?

Georg, sounds like you had a wonderful time in SF! That's about the only area in California I'd ever like to visit. They can keep southern California.......... not my scene:laugh:

    Hi all,
Glad you're back safe and sound georg. I really do enjoy outside activities as exercise rather than gyms but it's not always possible.

Good job mkwood. You are so close to your goal aren't you? I'm still slowwwwwlllllyyyy moving to my goal. I've done pretty well this week with my eating and my exercise so I'm hoping for some progress made on the scales as well. As long as my clothes start fitting better - that's the true test:happy:

    Have a great evening.

I went to Curves this afternoon at 3 - guess what?!
They don't open back up from lunch until 4!!!!
    :grumble:
So I came home & rode the bike with the fan pointed at me!
    I'll try again tomorrow a.m.

Oh bummer. I have done that. Ours closes from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday for their staff meetings. It seems like anytime I put it off on Tuesday that is the time I end up trying to go :grumble: I even showed up on a Saturday morning 1 hour before they opened.! Oh well, we're just too committed!
At least you didn't give up completely and went home to the bike instead of the couch:bigsmile:
    Better luck tomorrow.

    Esther,
I've been trying to lose the same 10 pounds FOREVER!!! I know it's a lot harder to continue to lose once you get close to your goal, but sometimes its SO frustrating :explode: :explode: My clothers are fitting better, so I will concentrate on that aspect, rather than the scale. Still can't get into any of last summer's capris or shorts, so I have lots of motivation to keep working out.! I don't want to buy any more clothes - I want to fit in the ones I already have!:grumble: :grumble:

    Have a great weekend!

Not going to be able to go to Curves today. I made it 4 days this week so that's good for just getting over the "bug". I am finally feeling like my old self the last couple of days. I'm sooooooo glad.

Have a great weekend. Go for a walk, hike or bike ride. Enjoy your day.

    Glad you're feeling better.
I made it to Curves yesterday afternoon & again today. How weird that even with all the walking & biking I've been substituting for the gym, I was terrible at the machines my first days back!
Goes to show - all the talk about needing to change up your routine is really true!

    Happy weekend!

Well I went to CURVES today and they had done work on the machines over the weekend. In my opinion they are all messed up now. Several of the machines didn't register right for me - and I heard others had the same problem. :grumble: :grumble: So, my report for the day wasn't all that great ! Oh well, I know I went and I worked hard so that's what I'm going to hang on to.!

Hope you all have a better workout today ;-)

    :blushing:

It feels good. The first 2 days I did awful, but today I met all the goals & had no residual energy left!!!!
