Neither milk nor soda are good for us. I don't consume either. Raw dairy in small amounts in the form of grass fed butter or cream is all I will consume.

You found butter that eats grass? Was this at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's?

It was probably Central Market. They have all the "worldly" stuff.

I suppose if you not concerned for you health and your future, then what you are saying is true. The human body is not designed to handle chemicals, excess sugar and other toxins. It is stored in the fat cells and eventually will try to be metabolized unless tumor growth happens first.

I don't eat for pleasure any longer. I eat for the fuel that it provides me and that is it. I do savor and enjoy the food I do eat, but non of it is or will ever be again junk food of any kind.

I'm pretty sure our body is designed to handle chemicals. Personally, my body couldn't survive without Dihydrogen monoxide on a daily basis.

We are not talking about water, oxygen, expelling nitrogen and carbon dioxide.

I am talking about lab made chemicals. Stop trying to twist words, you know what I am referring to.

Nobody is twisting anything. We hear you loud and clear. I especially like that part where you call everyone everyone who doesn't eat like you lazy.

    A couple of things:

First off the journalistic integrity of yahoo is non-existant. I read this article a few days ago. If I see a claim that is extraordinary I research it further. One of the claims in the article 'Artificial sweeteners and food dyes have been linked to brain cell damage and hyperactivity' is quite dubious. I did a simple google search on 'aspartame brain cell damage'. At the top of list are artticles written by James Bowen and Joseph Mercola. Google these names and you will find that they are considered quacks and charlatans in the medical and scientific community.

As for the coke and the penny thing check out this link:
    http://joshmadison.com/2003/12/14/will-coke-dissolve-a-nail-experiment/

From personal experience, I was diagnosed with MS and have lived with the disease since 1998, when I use Splenda, Equal, or any other artificial sweeteners, my MS becomes extremely active.

Personally, I can tell you that the stuff is toxic to your neurological system!

Every day tbh :) No reason not to, unless you like believing all the scaremonger stuff out there.

It is not scare mongering stuff. These chemicals, preservatives and crap are obviously not good for the body. Too bad people don't care enough about themselves or their loved ones to stay away from this crap.

Not everything we eat HAS to be GOOD for us. Pretty much anything in moderation our bodies can cope with. The issues start when we overdo the non-good stuff. If i only ate things there were GOOD for me, id probably have died of starvation by now, or certainly fallen off this wagon and regained the weight. And i think that would be rather unhealthy, no?
Researchers asked participants to drink either regular soda, milk containing the same amount of calories as regular soda, diet cola, or water every day for six months.

And they didn't say anything else about what to stick to in the diet? Talk about flawed...

I work for a doc that drinks coke omg nooo i need to tell her she is gonna get all kinds of bad stuff from it. like she doesn't already know coke isn't the best for you. cokes (if you haven't encounterd anyone from TN this means all soft drinks) are my only vice. there is plenty of stuff you body can and will handle, in moderation. did you know if you go overboard and drink too much water it can kill you? soooo..... guess you shouldn't drink water.....

Oh please. This is exactly the type of attitude that turns people away from your viewpoint. You're honestly going to suggest that drinking soda means that you don't care about your family? Really? :noway:

Think what you want. I know people that truly care for their family and themselves will have their family eat, drink and care for themselves in the most healthful manner possible.

I feel so sad for so many people on this website that don't even care what is in the food they eat, the evil corporations they are supporting and you all are only making them richer while you will eventually degrade your bodies.

    SMH

Please do not feel bad afor me because I DO care, but in all honesty shopping organically at a grocery store is WAY too expensive, farmers markets here only last until about November (If we are lucky) and growing my own food can only take place during the summer and I do not have time to do canning and *kitten*... so I shop where economically fesible which means no orgaincally grown foods... and OMG chemically abused animals... and even better sometimes it is MECHANICALLY SEPERATED because I do not have time to cook so I eat FROZEN meals... and you know what?? I am 100% healthy - other than my weight my blood tests are perfect...

So think what you will about me but do not feel sorry for me.

You may only seem healthy for now. Until you get sick one time and end up having to take way stronger antibiotics because your body is immune to the standard antibiotics from ingesting factory farmed CAFO meats.

I suppose you don't care how animals are treated before they go to slaughter? You don't care the source of your food and such.

This attitude is precisely why Cargill, Monsanto and all these other companies are winning. Because people don't care.

I hope one day people will wake up and see that these food manufacturers don't have anyone's best interest at heart, only their bottom line. Maybe when 90% of all people have dimentia, diabetes and cancer - people will then wake up.

And the part about not having time, is a cop out and an excuse.
Did you miss the part where she mentioned that she can't afford to eat organically? A lot of people can't. Sometimes it has nothing to do with caring. If it comes down to your family eating ramen noodles or not eating at all, ramen noodles are still the healthier option.

    This is tiresome.

I think the safest most obvious conclusion when you see someone drinking pop is that they hate their families. Obvious really.

I didn't read the article, but uhhh... isn't liquid, as a rule, flame retardant??

This makes me thirsty for a Coke.

Lighter fluid, diesel, alcohol... sorry love...

Yeah, but we don't DRINK all of those. You make a very good point, but I still think that using 'flame retardant' as an argument against soda is a bit far fetched.

Well yes. I was just listing liquids. If you wanted to deter me from drinking Coke might I suggest telling me it is made from the urine of weight lifters who use roids.

I don't want to bulk up...

The last time I needed antibiotics was in 1998 ,.... for tonsilitis... so yeah... I am not going to worry about it until I can.. and you find time in my day to can..

Monday - friday... up and out of house at 7:30am.. not returning home until 7:30
    still need to walk dog
    maintain home
    make dinner
    exercise.
    get to bet by 11is...

weekends.. out of town running an elderly grandmother around for various errands.. and then come home and maintian home do laundry ... need time to sleep in there too

FYI. I do care about how animals are slaughtered but going to buy my stuff farm fresh is NOT economically feasible and orgainc does not mean the animals are slaughtered in a nice manner .... just sayin.....

Never said I didn't care, infact I believe i said I DO care... I said I CANNOT AFFORD ORGANIC FARM FRESH FREE RANGE ETHICALLY TREATED food...

Pretty much you eat or drink will kill you eventually.. I am glad you can stand on a soap box and preach..and I am GLAD you can sit there and say you feed your family 100% healthy 100% of the time that is fantastic you must be in the 1%...

Oh and to the OP.. i enjoy the magical flame retarded drink bout 2 -3 times a week...

Let me guess. You watched some organic documentaries and "saw the light"? Because this is completely baseless in research. Please provide some substantial sources before making ridiculous claims like "non-organic food causes cancer, dementia, and diabetes."

While I don't doubt the validity of your experience at the end of the day personal experience and anecdote can't be a cornerstone of science. Your experience can certainly provide an impetus to explore the effect that artificial sweeteners have on MS but in order for something to be scientifically accepted it has to be replicated and controlled for. While your experience is valid it isn't a controlled experiment and therefore has to be categorized as personal experience that can be fallible.

I call it Soda. I always called in Coke until I went to another state and asked for a Coke (waiting for them to say "What Kind" like they do in Texas) and they gave me a real Coke....I wanted a Dr. Pepper. Lesson learned.

seriously you are going to blame super bugs on antibiotics that had been process through a digestive system and any residual has been cooked? yep becuase super bugs aren't created by people who sneeze, fart funny, have a green runny nose, have a VIRUS who INSIST that they need antibiotics to get better but stop taking the antibiotics when they feel better. don't even get me started on needless use of antibiotics. that is your problem with super bugs ex Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, vancomycin resistant entercoccui, Acinetobacter baumannii , the list goes on and on. Don't even act like you don't think I know what I'm talking about because I spent 6 months with Vanderbilt University Medical Center in infection control and prevention and this was my job. To go through labs and deicde who needed to be on contact precautions based on what their labs grew. But yeah super bugs because of antibiotics given to animals makes perfect sense. Thanks for clearing that up......
