Duuuude! I just started crock potting today! :D I brought a small one into work with me this evening and put half of a raw sweet potato with some leftover black beans (pre made) in one tin foil "pack," and fresh, raw kale and raw portobello mushrooms (chopped) in another pack, plugged it in and let it cook until lunch time! Absolute BEST hot lunch I have had at work in a long freaking time! It was perfect! Anything you can microwave, you can crockpot cook. :) I'm gonna start putting mixed veggies into aluminum foil "packs" like this all the time and steaming/cooking them daily! You don't have to make a stew or a soup with your crockpot. The sky is the freaking limit!

Not EXACTLY ready when you get home, but close:

    Chicken Noodle Soup

1 (approx. 2 lb) package boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped onions
2 to 3 cups sliced celery
2 to 3 cups sliced carrots
2 tbs poultry seasoning (I use the grocery store brand)
    salt and pepper to taste
    noodles

Cut chicken to bit sized pieces. Place all ingredients in crock pot. Generously cover with water (chicken broth might be better, but I just use plain water). Cook on slow 7 to 8 hours (longer is okay if you don't get home in exactly 8 hours).

When you get home, pour soup in a pot, bring to a boil, add noodles and boil until noodles are done. Sometimes I add a cup of noodles, sometimes more or less, depending on what kind of mood I'm in...Sometimes I don't add any noodles at all!!

A lot of times, I cut the ingredients and mix in a bowl, cover with water and some ice and leave in the fridge overnight so the next morning all I have to do is dump them in the crockpot and turn it on.

Never thought about the tin foil pack thing...what a neat idea!! Thanks for sharing!!

Here's a link to a bunch of recipes and shopping list to pre-prep a bunch of slow cooker meals. I haven't actually tried any of these yet, but before going back to school in the fall I fully intend to prep a bunch of meals. Looks pretty cheap too!

    Bumpy-bump-bump!
I've fallen in love with slow cooker recipes lately, so definately intend to try some of these out :)

Though it might be worth mentioning this turned out pretty well for me when I threw it into the pot -

    500g beef mince
    1 packet taco seasoning
1 tin salsa baked beans (could be subbed with 1 tin beans, 1 tin corn, 1 tin salsa, but I only have a mini pot!)
    1 tin diced tomatoes

Yummeh! I had it over quinoa and spaghetti squash, as well as in wraps.

Hi I'm new here......what does bump mean?

It is your way of being able to track it. Since you are posting "bump" on it, you can come back to add later or come back and save recipes later too.

    Bump -

Although I love this one -

    Ingredients

1 3 To 4 Pound Boneless Round Or Chuck Roast Beef
    1 (14.5 Oz.) Can Low-Sodium Beef Broth
    1/2 Cup Balsamic Vinegar
    1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
    1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
    1/4 Cup Honey
    1 Teaspoon Dried Rosemary
    5 Cloves Of Garlic, Minced
    Instructions

Place your roast beef in a 6 quart crock-pot.
In a small bowl mix the rest of the ingredients and stir well to combine.
Pour liquid over beef in crock-pot.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours on low or 4 hours on high.

Slice it thin (or shred it) and serve on a roll for french dip. Use juice as a dip.

I'm not sure if this has been covered or not, but eating clean, means just that. No preservatives or additives. Many of the "clean" recipes I've seen on this thread are not clean.

My go to for crock pot recipes that are clean is www.skinnyms.com if you scroll down and to the right, there's a "slow cooker" section in the database. Everything I've made from there is amazing.

Another source that isn't for the slow cooker is www.graciouspantry.com Again, all clean recipes, but more for cooking than slow cooker.

Feel free to add me, as I'm trying to eat clean again. With yoga and clean eating, I lost close to 20 lbs in three months (sounds crazy, but it was healthy as I was under a doctor's care). Unfortunately an accident has given me a set back. :-(

My fave is slow cooker tex mex chicken :)

    2 chicken breasts, cut up.
cover with flour (2tbsp), and taco seasoning (about 1pkg).
    Salsa
Green Pepper, diced (or sliced, your preference)
Red Pepper (same as green pepper)
    Corn Kernels
    Small onion diced

Set on low, and leave it for the day!

You can eat it over rice, or on tortillas, or just on its own. Adding sour cream, and shredded cheese as you like.

I love this recipe! Its cheap, leftovers taste awesome, and it freezes well! I actually have it cooking in the slow cooker right now!
