What do you think of girls that post up half naked pictures

I'll probably get a lot of hate for this unpopular opinion, but I personally would never post a pic of myself showing off my body in that way. Although, I have never been comfortable with wearing a bikini either lol. I have taken pics of me in shorts and a sports bra but my face isn't in it. I would never want something to come back and bite me in the butt for future employment, etc.
HOWEVER, if others choose to do so, that is there right. I used to feel like I needed to show more skin for guys to like me, now I feel that my 'skin' should be reserved for my husband. I guess it all depends on personal preference/ comfort levels. As a general rule of thumb I like to ask myself whether I'd ever let my daughter wear or do something, if the answer is no I don't wear/do it!0 -
It's another way to post progress. I work in the fitness industry ans each time we have a contest we take before and after pics. Two piece for women and shorts for the guys.0

I personally, am very shy, and do not like showing much in pics, I don't even like when my cleavage shows. However, it does not bother me at all if other women are confident enough to show it off. Especially since this is something they have probably worked very hard to achieve and they want to show off their hard work. It doesn't bother me to see, I just don't like to see mine. Men can post pictures without shirts on, so why not.0

Guys showing off their chest is more acceptable? At my gym they have an album with before after pictures, both male and female. I think it's great to see how people can make their body into something they can be proud of. I have not seen one picture on this site that I found offensive.

What is your opinion on girls that take pictures of themselves showing off or flaunting "their goods "in their bras, or arms covering what should be x rated? And post it on here? How much skin is acceptable to show in a photo? (and I'm not just talking about the bikini pics). Isn't this a fitness site?? Well I'm on here to get help with weight loss and fitness. I really don't need to see pic that you might be on a porn site. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great if a girl has enough confidence to show themselves off like that, but can't we keep it tasteful? I'm sure she's posting the pictures to get attention from guys or maybe even other girls... Anyways I think its extremely distasteful and should not be allowed0

There is nothing shameful about the human body, it is a magnificent and beautiful work of art. Why should it be hid on a health/fitness site of all places? We should all be happy to see what we can achieve. I am reminded of the comments of a baptist minister many years ago, when he walked past a teenage girl in a halter top and shorts. He said as he turned his head to prevent seeing her, "It is evil for a woman to dress like that, it fills me with lustful thoughts." Now, who was wrong, the person who was unashamed of her body, or the pervert that was filled with lust for a teenage girl?0

Coming from a pseudo-confused "Christian", I think the whole "temple/ my appearance is for my husband only" thing is just a bunch of cult, brainwashing BS. God didn't creat man and woman fully clothed. I had to actually attend a wedding where the entire ceremony was wrapped around a woman serving her husband and the husband having authority over his wife. Give me an effing break if you honestly believe that's how a marriage should work.0

I just think that everyone should do what feel right to them. Stop passing judgement on others who may not feel the same way as you. You will find, your life will be alot more happier that way.
(Plus, nobody else has to listen to you bs opinion)0 -

I think they're wrong! You don't have to show off your skin to show your progress. Doesn't it display in your ticker anyways? Call me conservative but if these girls are showing their skin here to any guy that can potentially see them and get turned on then what the heck is left for their husbands? If you show your body to everyone then its not special. Showing skin is not confidence! Confidence is knowing you look good without needing the approval of other people. Sorry but its the truth!

Feisty conversation! That just made for some interesting reading.
I believe that the human body is beautiful, and that confidence is beautiful. Also, some people don't feel beautiful without outside reassurance, and getting that is part of what helps them internalize the feeling of being beautiful. It would be lovely if it always started from the inside out, but unfortunetly that isn't the case.
Some people may post pictures as a way to seek positive attention, but what's wrong with that? It's positive. They could be doing many worse things, and getting negative attention for it. Also, many people post pictures because they are proud of themselves, and they want to share how far they have come. Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves. Personally I think it feels darn good to wear a little bikini, and it's not because I want to show off, it's because it feels good to feel comfortable and confident enough in my own skin to do so.
This site is about supporting each other to meet our goals, whatever those may be. Let's keep it positive.0 -
i honestly think its shameful. before i get all raked over let me first be clear. I am a christian woman and I believe that my body, my temple, is for the one man i dedicate my life to. NOT for all you people to see on here. There are many outfits that show off the body in great ways. Such as spandex or yoga pants. I personally would not find offense in a woman taking a picture in her sports bra and a pair of yoga pants. But please, spare me the half naked bikini mini pics. Its pretty gross no matter how beautiful and/or skinny and/or fit you are.
Happy Counting!
if "your body is your temple" then why did you deface it by getting a tattoo?
Isn't that a bit hypocritical?
just sayin'!
I was going to say that.
That makes 3 of us...
make that 40 -
Honestly, the people that take pride in their bodies is a rare breed.. when I see people taking pride in themselves and showing off their hard work. It motivates me to try harder.0

Skin is skin. What is the difference between the skin on your thighs and the skin on your arms?0

I find Spandex offensive.......but a nice fit naked body no way! If you have it show it off!0 -
you are very childish!
If anything, we're all being a hell of a lot more mature than you are. You're the one complaining about some half naked photos, while the rest of us just skim by them without acting all, "OMG BOOBIES!"
I totally scream OMG BOOBIES....then shove my eyeballs back into my head, wipe the drool off the keyboard and click Next.
BOOBIES? WHERE??0 -
Hey good for them for having the confidence to do it!!!0

why not? i cant wait till im confident enough to show of some flesh!!
^^^ME TOO^^^0 -

Personally, it makes me feel like *kitten* when I see pictures like that. A big, fat pile of *kitten*. BUT, I'm not offended. I totally think you can post it if you got it. Maybe one day, if I'm ever not a huge fat pile of *kitten*, I'll post a picture like that too.0

I think there is a difference between showing "weight loss" and a picture shot of just your breast.....I mean that's like a guy taking a shot of his package area
LOL
Maybe he just wants to show off his newly refined muscle. It is a muscle, after all :laugh:0 -

What's left for their husbands? Seriously?
And to add you think bare skin is the only thing that turns someone on?0 -
I personally find them very motivating, especially the before and after pics people post on Success Stories boards.0

That is not their fault though. That is something you have to work on with yourself. People have to remember someone else's journey is not your journey. People get tied up on what others are doing and achieving that they actually hurt their own weight loss. Congratulate people for the job they are doing but remember they aren't you, nor is their body. Keep your eyes on your prize, not someone elses! You can do it! 2012 is your year!0 -

I'm guessing your husbands one of those unlucky ones that "can't" go to strip clubs or watch porn huh?0
