I prefer meeting people in person and still the best way to do it. However, technology is advancing and people are growing up in a world where social media rules. The dating paradigm is changing and people need to adapt.

I spent a couple years overseas on military assignment and when I got out a couple years ago, I went back home and knew no one in my area. A buddy told me about POF (never even heard of online dating before that) and I decided to give it a go. He actually had to help me set up my profile. Essentially, you're marketing yourself. There are a bunch of other guys on that site and you need something that will set you apart. It almost felt like I was setting up a resume except it was why you should date me instead why you should hired me.

So to answer that question, I don't think it matters which site. Like dating in "real life" you just gotta put yourself out there.
