My first car was a Geo Tracker and I called her Trixie! My parents bought her for $3,000 and it lasted me until last month when I finally had to trade her for a new one (I'm 24)! I loved it so much and it was unstoppable, it never broke down and I had to put some work in it but not much!! The only reason I traded her in was because I had the money and she was going to go anytime now!!! RIP Trixie!
Oh and I got $200 trade in for her! Come on! She was worth more than $200!0 -
I had a hand me down from my Mom....a Ford Tempo...80 something. I also still remember my plate number too!
If that car could talk....eek the stories it would have!!! :laugh:0 -
My first car was a 1988 Pontiac Sunbird, white with blue interior. I drove that baby into the ground with carrying my kids around in it. I owned horses at the time too, so it was always filled with tack, riding gear, grooming kits etc. I traded it in, in 1998 for a brand new Pontiac Grand Am.0

1995 red Ford explorer. I hate the color red and I hate fords. (my dad loves fords, so I had to go with what he wanted to sign for). My hubby crashed it in 2006. Now I have a 1997 green chevy tahoe and a 2006 blue-grey pontiac torrent. Love them both. I learned to drive in the tahoe (it was my parents). I am a GM girl. the Pontiac is the first car I've ever had with a sun roof, and a cd player (and a car alarm which I accidentally set off at 6 am when using the key to get in it instead of keyless entry. won't do that again). Aww yeah, I'm spoiled now! The tahoe has almost 200g miles on it. Poor thing has some issues but it keeps running.0

I had a 97 Dodge Dakota. That was in 2001, when I was 16. Traded it in, in 2004. Bought myself a 2003 Chevy Silverado for my 19th birthday. I currently drive a 2010 Toyota Highlander. Gotta have a mom vehicle.0

1990 Navy Blue 325 BMW. It was a stick shift- my boyfriend (current husband now) convinced me it would be easy learning how to drive it. Never got it. Too much manuvering for me. Sold it months later & brought a brand new automatic transmission-1993 Green Honda Civic Ex.0

My first car was a 1985 Dodge Aries wagon that I bought from an estate sell when an old lady died. She was the only owner and it although the car was old he didnt have a whole lot of miles on it. I bought it for 600 bucks0

1969 Ford F-250. I paid $100 for her and named her Annabelle. She had a pair of ancient glass-packs and I would set off car alarms just by driving past. My favorite part was when I found an old loveseat that fit perfectly in the bed behind the cab--it was great for drive-ins.0

1986 VW Golf. I'd like to say it was silver, but I'm not sure it actually had paint. It was a manual trans, and super fun to drive. No power steering, no cup holders, no frills. I hated it when I drove it, but now I kinda miss it!0

1981 Hyundai pony with a hand clutch!0

A 1973 Hillman Avenger DL - 1248cc (76.2 cu.in, and believe me, the .2 was needed!). 0-60 time could be measured on the calendar and the crossply tyres were nowhere near as good as the radials of today. Loved it though. Paid £350 (about $500) for it and got the same on trade-in a couple of years after. Had to change the cylinder head gasket, among other things, while I had it - in the days when Joe Average could fix things himself.0

A sweet white......1988 Suzuki Samurai0

1972 Chevy Vega, paid $750 for it in 1979, drove the wheels off of it literally, then traded it in for a Z-28 and got $500 in trade for it.0

1973 Pontiac GTO. Booger green. My dad & I spent a year rebuilding it, i thought for him, and he gave it to me when i turned 16. I loved that car. It met its demise when we were t-boned at an intersection and flipped into a ditch 9 months after i got it.
Next car was a 2003 chevy cavalier, a wedding gift from the in-laws.0 -
1977 plymouth gran fury. Biggest pile of S**T I ever drove. Went to the junk yard with 77,000 miles on it. Grandfather bought it and sold it to my folks.0

Learn to drive on a 1970 Chevy Townsman...
At 19 Dad insisted I learn to drive a stick. Manual everything even had a "choke"
The first car I owned @ 44 y.o....
after living in NYC for 20+ years I'd gotten a job with a reverse commute and needed a car. Dad's generously gave up his 1990 Corolla, had it for 6 years.
It was a great car for the city... (Parked on the street, some one did smash in my rear door, but didn't care enough to spend any $$ on it) Still wonder if I could have gotten another 5 years out of it, if I'd put a little money into it.0 -
