Physical causes: drink and drug misuse, obesity
Psychological causes: depression, stress & overwork
I am guessing that of those the most common reason for loss of libido is depression.
This idea that somehow all guys are primed for sex 24/7, 365 days a year is as moronic as it is one dimensional and hurts relationships more than it helps.0 -
So just to settle a debate on another thread I think it only comes down to the following reasons why you wouldnt want to have relations with your wife/gf
1. Gay
2. You find her very unattractive
3. You're cheating
4. Your junk doesnt work
5. Other
If 5 list the reason0 -
these are the lamest excuses I have ever heard.0
-
#5. Because he wants dinner to digest before he has desert.0

Thank you!! You have now officially confirmed that I am, in fact...19yrs old, which I firmly believe, rather than 37...which is what my drivers license says =p.0

I think I love you. You, my friend are a REAL man0 -
lol douche bag alert0

Definitely agree....his junk doesnt work or something. My husband would want to have sex if all his limbs were broken, his eyes were bleeding, he had seven headaches and he was vomiting.0

She wouldn't let me put it in her pooper.
it's true. i mean, i let the hubs last night, and if i'll let him do it, i'll let pretty much anyone...
D*mn, my kinda woman! I only wish the wife felt (or like) the same way. :sad:0 -
Why on earth do you care so much about other dudes not having sex??0

I dont actually, but it was meant to prove a point brought up in another thread.0 -
Personally, while I do care about sex, and I like to have sex..it's not the most important thing to me.
I want to find the woman that makes me happy, both sexual and non sexual. I have no desire to sleep around and just have sex because...0 -

While we are normally in agreement, I think this statement is sort of silly. This thread is funny, we're all playing on a stereotype...which, if you've noticed, holds surprisingly true. Of COURSE there's exceptions, and of course those who are the exceptions deserve just as much respect and consideration as those who aren't.
But seriously man, one dimensional and hurts relationships more than it 'helps'? I mean, really?
And, oddly enough...it seems far more of the women posting feel the same way and would prefer sex on a very frequent basis as well.
How does that impact these distressed relationships?0 -

When a man doesn't fit the sterotype that he should be walking testosterone and wants sex every minute of every day, he may feel like he's somehow 'abnormal' if he doesn't. If the myth that all men want sex all the time is perpetuated, the partner of a man who doesn't want sex all the time will blame herself and may feel it's somehow her fault.
So I'd agree - it is a pretty one-dimensional view and it can be harmful to relationships.
Relating it to this thread - the vast majority of people with problems aren't going to want to broadcast it so you wouldn't get an accurate picture, but there have been studies carried out where, just as often as the man has a higher sex drive than a women, there are also a great deal of cases where a woman has a higher sex drive than a man. Sometimes that's all it boils down to - sex drive. Not every man has a libido that is through the roof and wants sex every minute of the day.0 -

I think you completely missed my point. This thread is a humorous thread. Reread what you posted with that in mind...and it makes a lot less sense.
Also, while I can certainly agree about it being one dimensional (again...most humor is, that's why it's funny), I still disagree about how OTHER people making fun of a stereotype is something that is truly going to be harmful to relationships. If it is, the people in those relationships have other issues they need to work out before tackling whether or not their lack of sexual drive is normal (which it may very well be!!).
I know this is an unrelated comment, but to be honest, for once I just don't care. I get so tired of the 'you can't say or do or think this or that in public, because some person in some specific situation somewhere in the world might be offended or get their feelings hurt'. I'm generally very, very considerate...it's part of my nature. But good Lord people, lighten up.0 -

Listen dude. We can't agree all the time because that would be boring and we might end up dating or something. That would be just plain weird. You don't have enough hair for starters...
Ok, my words may have been a touch strong. Seems like a took a left turn at Albuquerque and accidentally ended up in a joke thread rather than a serious one. Now, if it had been serious I would argue my position but seeing as it isn't...Can you put a cork in it please? I have sex to be thinking about!
I come in peace *sets phaser to kill*0 -

Lol...well, the fact is you DO have enough hair for me to consider dating...
Wrong gender though...definitely weird.

Just thought I'd throw that out there to cover that base.

Thank you.
The fact that you seem to be both a rower AND a cyclist means you are officially awesome x 2...0 -
5) Doesn't feel like it.0

If u husb doesnt want to have sex, my reasons apply, you can get mad, deny it , whatever, but I AM RIGHT. Dela with it, get on the treadmill, check to see if he dl'ds gay porn, whatever....its probably YOUR fault.
You're very quick to judge aren't you, dear?
I wonder if it's because you slot nicely into #4 on your list of reasons? You know, impotence or erectile dysfunction can easily be treated - you don't have to be ashamed, your doctor is there to help
Unless of course, there's another reason you have to explain why you hide behind your misogynistic, narrow-minded viewpoint?
I think that perhaps you should turn your ignorant thoughts and opinions inward and take a little look at yourself rather than projecting your insecurities onto others.

I'd totally let you Panda Bear!0 -
