I don't have much to say. I don't understand this loss at all. A lot of you do so much more than me and are on plateaus. So I just don't know what to say. I did a little over 7 hours exercise this week. My eating is not the best but really watching the calories. Well it is daylight - I am going walking.

Just wanted to come back and wish everyone Good Luck with their weigh ins

    Good morning, everyone.

I'll be back in a bit to weigh in.

How are you doing, indianagranny? Congratulations on the weight loss.

I've got to get moving this morning...Last minute preparations before the reunion tomorrow. I have to make pasta salad for 60 people...

(Of course, I'm using Smart pasta...)

    :flowerforyou: Good morning everyone!!

Ok so this is the first time I'm weighing in on this team so I hope I do it right

    sw 285 / gw 145 / cw 259 7 lbs lost

I'm soooo excited this morning ... I think more amazed :noway: I have no idea how that happened, I've been averaging about 3 lbs a week for the past 6 weeks, so when I stepped on the scale this morning I couldn't believe it so I ended up stepping on it 4 times ... just to be sure!! Even after that I still can't believe it!! I'm sure the weight loss will slow down soon, so I'll be happy while I can

You all have a great day!! :flowerforyou:

So i didn't do enough cardio this week and I didn't loose a lbs, but I did loose and inch off my hips so it wasn't totally a loss.

:noway: Wow! Nice work ladies. IG and LA those are eye popping loses. Patting you both on the back. And Manda; awesome! Its not always about the scale is it. You've claimed your amazing non-scale victory and you deserve it!

OK, I'm buying into the starvation mode thing they told me. I guess that last weeks eating out did me good instead of bad like I had thought (so no smack with the slipper necessary). My goal this week is to keep the calories at 2000 as recommended to me. Continue my training of 75-100 miles of cycling, about 6-8 miles running, about 8-10 miles walking.

Morning everyone! I've been catching up on how everyone is. So, reading last week's posts, which I had not really done well for the past few days. Sounds like everyone has a lot going on. And, as usual, not everything is good. I don't know what it is about life that requires us to experience pain and sadness, but I know its part of every life. I also know that sharing that burden with family and friends can be a great relief. Lisa, when you said you no longer eat emotionally, you talk. Isn't that great? I am so sorry for what you are going through, and so glad you are doing it in a healthy way. Its times like this that really test us, and help define us.

I've also been thinking about the dreaded plateaus some are on. Its been a while for me, but I sure remember how discouraging that was! I think you're all smart to try to focus on life and not obsess on eating or dieting, or whatever. Today, I am just enjoying the journey, and it seems to be working. No racing out to the scale every day, and eating has become a healthy habit. Don't know how long it will last, but it has been amazing since I stopped making food the center of my life. At the height of my addiction, food was all I thought about. I planned what I would eat next, or just mindlessly ate everything in sight. Since I started to lose weight, I have been feeling so much better, and have been free to do so much more. I've found I really enjoy my own company, and other people seem to enjoy me more, too. I do more with friends. I move around more. i never go over calories any more, in fact, I need to make myself eat enough. I know that won't last, and things will likely slow down, but right now, I am enjoying the blessings of being in a good space and losing significant weight every week.

Congrats to the losers and yes, you deserve to lose even if you think you don't!! This is not a McDiet, you won't necessarily see instant results, but your body is changing and you will lose it!!

Did some yoga with the tv yesterday - today my lower back is sore. Not sure if it's related, but concerns me since I have hip problems pretty easily. Am trying to loosen up so I can do my step class today, they are also giving the class tomorrow so I will take it either on Fri or Sat, but not both days.

I'm happy to report I emotionally ate last night. Why am I happy to report that? Because it was CLEAR it was not physical hunger like that I"d been experiencing the past week, when I couldn't eat enough. This was pure and simple my brain wanted it and my body didn't need it. Whew. I was worried I was experiencing emotional hunger before and could no longer tell the difference. The odd things we celebrate on this journey!

Indiana- You are in my prayers. Your weight loss this week doesnt surprise me. Youve been a walking wonder and been under alot of stress. Good job with not letting that stress turn into a rationalization to eat unhealthy things. Keep strong my friend and remember, we are all here for you.

Did my step aerobics class this morning. I am pleased and proud to announce that not only did I finish it with everyone else (before I had to take breaks) my heart rate stayed down!!! Before it would hit like 180 and I'd have to stop and let it cool down, didn't have to do that once today, and my highest heart rate was 163 (target heart rate is up to 157) so not bad at all! I'm very pleased at that progress with just a few classes under my belt. Didn't burn as many cals as before either, which is ok too. It was fun. And I was sore going into it, from my tv yoga yesterday, but that seemed to stretch everything out and I was fine after that. she did about 1000 squats though so my thighs were screaming.

It pretty much wears me out, though, but no nap for me today. Going to bed early. "Might" take a class again tomorrow, not sure. My goal is twice a week with that and one strength training with trainer. That's all I plan on doing this month, but if I "feel" like doing more I'll do it. That's just my minimum requirement.
  • Hey Team

April = Congratulations on the 3 pounds. Keep up the good work girl.

Lorann - Congratulations Girl!!!!!!!!!!!! WTG. I am so happy for you. Keep up the good work and the attitude.

Adopt4 - Good job on the maintance.

Kristi - WOW Girl. You are definitely an inspiration and doing a fantactic job on this lifestyle journey. I agree totally with you on not obsessing with diet and focusing on life. I have been doing that for about a month now. I no longer look at exercise as losing weight but as a way to feel better and to be healthier. Thanks for all your words.

LI4G - Congrats on the 2 pounds. Keep it up girl. We will get to those goals safely and healthier. Thanks for the support. I actually did not log the hours that I walked last night and had forgotten about doing it until you and Prayerfulmom mention walking.

Prayerfulmom - Congrats on the loss. I did suffer from amnesia. I forgot to log and even forgot about all the walking I did last night. I am a space cadet at times. Thanks for the remnder. I walked this moening - 3 miles - then took your advice and spent a leisurely day to prepare for tommorow.
  • Adopt4 - Congratulations on the step class. I am so proud of you. I am so wanting to do something like that. Going to have to look for a DVD and see if my sonm can build me a step.

Well I am still numb but hanging in there. I was still having hurt emotions this morning so I got out and walked. Then not wanting to mess things up for tomorrow, I took off to go get a pair of shorts and visit some people so I wouldn't continue to exercise today. I got to Walmart's and although I wasn't totally thrilled because of my mood, I was able to get into a size 12 shorts. Then I picked up some lounge things which fit but are tight in a size 8 - 10. Folks I was thrilled inside but still didn't shake my mood - it has been since grade school 40 years ago since I have been in that size. By the time I lose ten more pounds the 8 - 10 will fit smoothly. On a normal day, I would be dancing in the street but I am just so numb.

I also want to share that I am going to be a granny locally - the baby will be just ten miles away from me. I have 4 grandchildren in Montana - 1604 miles doorstep to doorstep - which I love dearly and talk to on the phone weekly. My daughter- in - law is three months but is high risk miscarriagw but the risk has now dropped from 95 to 2 percent.

Well I'm new here to this group and to the site. I've started making lifestyle changes and it feels great to do it. I'm 162ish lol, drank a lot of water so it's hard to say for today. But I want to drop a good 40 pounds. I feel crappy about my weight and it's time to take control and say goodbye to it.

ROFL... sorry guys but I just had to share these couple of pictures I got tonight. This is the howler, who has actually become most affectionate of the bunch lately and is using the litter box all by himself now along with eating real food like a pig. He is so hilarious and loves shoes and hubby had no sooner taken his boots off when he started climbing them then got inside and went to sleep.. LOL!!!

I convinced hubby to make my half of the pizza with spinach and feta tonight. He was a little sparce on the toppings (its spinach for heaven's sake!) but tasted good anyway. I also enjoyed a crunchy snack of dry cereal when the kids snacked on cookies this afternoon. Learning to substitute healthy food for the cravings I have.

Oh yah, went biking tonight for fun. I would have never rode a bike 30 lbs ago. Wonder what I will try when I lose another 30????

ps - li4g - awesome job on the wogging!!!!! Keep it up girl. We can both cheer when we hit the 15 min. mark. I'm still working on that too. :flowerforyou:

Those canyons are near Las Vegas! Would love to go hike around the ones at Red Rock. Its a pretty neat place to go and its only about a 30 minute drive from the strip.
  • Cyndeebee - I hope you have a good reunion today. Enjoy the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LI4G - Good - Luck with the quitting. My prayers are with you. I quit over 10 years ago but I was sitting talking with a friend of mine yesterday and for some reason had the urge to smoke one. No I didn't. It was just wierd. Don't know where that come from. Love the pics of kitten. thanks for sharing

Healthymom - you are such an inspiration - wogging - biking. I enjoy reading your post

My emotions are mixed today. Got a lot of people on my heart - including you all. It is suppose to be in the 90's and humid but that is not bothering me. Well just know my thoughts are with your loved ones and you and your families. Thanks for all your prayers and wishes.
