Ok, not sure what happened, edited my first post to fix a spelling mistake, and now it is gone.....so, here it is again....sorry about that....

This is a great thread.....I cannot remember the last time I read through an entire thread! Very entertaining, and makes me feel better that I am not the only one that has had some crazy dates in my day! I have had some nutso ones, but here are the top three.

I went on a blind date that a good friend of mine had set up. She kept insisting to me that we would get along great and she just knew I would love him. He picks me up at my place just as I am finishing getting ready, he had come from about 90 mins away and was a bit early....well, as soon as I answered the door, he MUST have seen the look on my face. He was SO not my type.....however, I did not want him to be upset with my friend, and he had come a ways, so I went out anyway. We had dinner, and then we went to a club that I went to every weekend at that point, and I introduced him to people as 'my friend', lol. He was not really bad looking, just not the type of guy I liked. Anyway, we were drinking and had danced a couple times, he was nice, and I was being polite. About midnight, he leans into me at the table, and starts telling me how into me he is. AH! I thought, ok, better to be upfront. So, I just said to him, I am sorry, I think you are a really nice guy, but just are not my type, but we can finish having a nice date and dance or whatever, but you are just not my type. After that, he bought another round of drinks and then ‘went to the bathroom’ and never came back. He left me stranded at a club half an hour from my house. To make matters even worse, I had loaned my roommate my car that night to go out with some guy, and told her to come to the club at the end of the night in case things were not going well for me. I waited until 4am and she never showed up. I had to cab home and later found out that her date and she went to a club three hours away…..

Second blind date experience I had was just as bad. A friend of mine sets me up with this girl, says he thinks we might really hit it off. Once again, we go out for a nice dinner, and after, she asks if I want to go back to her place and watch a movie or something. I was like, alright, whatever. We get there, and have a few drinks and are chatting, she had to cutest little dog, so we play with him and she tells me she just got him a week ago. Anyway, a while later, some guy shows up, and just walks right into her back patio door. I was like, um, ok, I guess she knows him well. He sits down and starts talking away to us, and then pulls out a guitar and starts playing and singing, and I am thinking, this is bloody weird, but I don’t say anything cuz I was trying to figure out what to do next. As time goes on, I start to realize that this is looking like a set up, and this guy thinks I am going to have a threesome with them. WTF!! I freaked out and started yelling at them, and right in the middle of it, her dog has a seizure. She starts crying and freaking out, and the guy left so fast that I didn’t even notice at first. Anyway, I spend the rest of the night, (literally until the sun is up), at an emergency vet clinic with her where she finds out that the dog was inbred and needs to be put down, all night long he is having seizure after seizure, it was terrible. The next day, my friend called her and took a hunk out of her for setting me up like that.

The third terrible date I had actually was not a blind date, he was a guy I met at a club. This was the early 90’s and there was a guy standing outside the club at the end of the night with a Coolio hairdo, so I was drunk and yelled across the parking lot at him, his girlfriend did not look impressed. Like MONTHS later, I am in the same club, and some guy buys me a drink and was talking to me, and then says “You do not recognize me without the hair eh?” So, I clue into who he is, we exchange numbers. We talk for a couple weeks, and then I agree to go out with him. He lived in the States, and I am in Canada, so he came over the border to pick me up, and we went back to the US. We had a nice dinner, and a couple drinks, and then went back to his place to talk and hang out. Over the course of the time there, he asks if I have a boyfriend. I say, well no, I am here, but I do see one other guy, but it is just casual. He WENT OFF! He started going on and on about how I was gonna kick him to the curb and he was having no part of that. Then he pulls a photo out of a drawer, and it was the girl he was at the club with the night I met him the first time, and you can tell it has been crimpled up and straightened out a hundred times, and he says, “This is the girl I used to talk to, I talked to her for five years, we don’t talk anymore, and now I am talking to you!” I was like WTF this crazy guy is gonna kill me, lol.

He then brings me to a church to meet his mother, and I start to play sick, thinking that is my way out. He tells his mother he is going to take me home, but that I will be coming to her place for Sunday dinner. We get to the border, and the guy pulls us over, and he yells out “f*@k you buddy, its cuz I am black and she is white”. Nice, piss off the border people….while that might have been true, not a good time to point it out. Anyway, at that point, I called a friend to pick me up at the border and never took one of his MANY calls……

I could tell a few more, but those are the three that pop into my head right away when I think bad date….great stories everyone else, keep em coming! Great thread!

All of these reminds me of the 3 horrible dates I've had:

    1. It was Homecoming! I went to pick her up...no show. I call her friends, no dice. Finally, I just go to the restaurant with a couple of friends and their dates, thinking she'll show up. NOPE! After dinner, we go to the dance, where she finally catches up with me (I was done by that time anyway). I ignored the girl, she leaves with another guy and all her friends felt sorry for me. I wasn't disappointed at all. See, at dinner with friends and their dates, I met a young lady and we hit it off...dated for 2+ years before I moved to Texas. It was a blessing. Besides, I ended up being homecoming king and once everyone heard my "date" skipped off with this other dude...she was trash. Still...it was HOMECOMING man.

    2. Dallas, Texas. Blind Date: NO...just NO! Carrot top hairdo with a drinking problem. I felt I needed to at least sit down and have dinner with her since my friend had hooked us up. I figured she was gonna be hot because my friend who hooked us up was smoking and she had smokin' friends...or so I though. We sat down for dinner, she ordered the biggest drink there plus a full order of bacon chili cheese fries as an appetizer. It was HUGE. We snacked on that while she proceeded to tell me about all the kids she wants (I have 2 and didn't want more...well, not with her anyway). 20 minutes later and she having 2 huge-*kitten* drinks, she orders a bacon double cheeseburger with onion rings. I can't eat a thing...I'm full. I order water, that's it. Out comes the burger and rings and she's engulfing this thing. Right in the middle, with her mouth full, she actually asked me if I ever wanted to get married again. I'm thinking...this is my opportunity. I say, without hesitation: "Hell No! Been there, done that!" She gets up, takes the food with her and leaves. It was AWESOME. Had I known it would have worked, I would have told her that an hour earlier.

    3. Ok, so I've been dating this woman for about 3 weeks and she's great. Beautiful (way out of my league), rich, fake boobies, lives in HUGE house...perfect, right? Thing is, I've never been in her house nor she been in mine. We were just dating. So on this one night, I take her home from a black tie event so we can both change for a casual end to the night in some bar. She shows me around the house, which is gorgeous, takes me into her room and then we proceed to...well... Eventually we clean up and she shows me more around the house. I'm thinking, there's more???? We get to this hall and she just stops and says: This is where your daughters rooms will be!

    EEEEKKKKKK!!!!!

Oh no she didn't. I didn't hesitate. I walked out of her house immediately and never saw her again. We date for 3 weeks, have great sex and then that? Who does that?

Strange people out there. I know singles want to get married, but come on man? Let it happen, don't force it to happen.

for a first date once, i went to her apt. to pick her up...walked inside, and noticed her dog laying by the window on the other side of the apt. i thought it was a tad bit strange the he didnt meet me at the door let alone bark at me. i asked if there was something wrong with the dog, and she said, "no he died a few days ago, and i just havent had the time to bury him". i was like WTF!

I would have called the humane society on her, she doesnt have time for a burial but a date. I just love domestic animals too much I guess.

I didn't have a baby sitter, he said " I love kids, bring your 3 year old"
I spent hours getting dressed and trying to look perfect
He picked me up in a blue hatchback, the church music he played was so loud I heard him before he rang the door bell.
The car was filthy (no a.c) it was 104 degrees Alabama temperture.
He never asked me what I wanted to eat, we talked about "Sweet Jesus" until we arrived at The Chicken Coop
I stood in line (yes I said in line, I was soooo over dressed for this) He ordered for me
3 wings and fries, it came up to $5.99 He didnt want to break a $10 so I gave him a dollar out my purse.
As the greasy bag was handed to me, we headed out to his dirty car.
There was a breast, a drum stick and a wing in the bag. He asked for the breast.
Yes he asked for the breast, I handed my kid in the back seat a drum stick
I tried to eat the salty fries and asked could he get me something to drink.
He pulled up to a soda machine, got me a Coke. When I popped it open he sweating like a pig asked for a sip.
He than asked for the wing I nimbled off of, I passed it to him and told him to keep the soda.
He drove around a lake (beautiful lake) my son was sleep and asked me for a kiss.
I got out his car, pulled my sleeping son out the back seat and walked over to a bunch of guys talking at a picnic table.
I (at the time didnt know where I was, just had moved here 2 months prior) asked them how far Old Columbus Road was.
My church going friend throw the car seat out the window and pulled off.
It turns out it wasnt far at all, I told the nice guy name Tim what happend , he laughed the whole way driving me home.
He took me and my son out the next day (we dated for the next 6 months)
Too funny, sad thing is I know someone just like that. Just cheap! He had the nerve to ask for a kiss WOW!

.We met through a mutual friend and started talking on the phone for a few weeks and finally decided to go out on a date. He asked me if I wanted to go to this restaurant that we both liked. He told me to meet him at his house, since I knew where it was (I went there previously with our mutual friend). Once I got there, he informed me he didn't have his license and I had to drive. I was automatically turned off by this (he was 19 at the time and couldn't drive!). We get to the restaurant and the conversation was very boring. There was more time where he said nothing then there was when he talked. I had to carry the conversation and finally got sick of it! When the bill came, he looked at it, looked into his wallet and said he didn't have enough money and asked me if I could chip in. Like really??? Talk about chivalry!

Whilst there are some real horror stories on here, it does worry me how many people list the guy not paying as one of the reasons. I mean, seriously in this day and age? I would never not offer to go half - or alternate paying if we had been dating a while - a date should be on an equal setting, a man automatically having to pay for a woman's company is prostitution not dating.

And no, I don't insist if he disagrees with me- not always at least. But I do find a way to pay it back in other ways - like driving, or being more generous on gifts if we are in a relationship

Almost all of my dates have been terrible, haha

First "date" I ever went on, I was 13 and was meeting a guy from the grade above me that I had been talking to for some time. We were supposed to see a movie together. I showed up and there were 2 other girls there with him.

Next "date" I was 15. The guy really really wanted to take me to play pool. I suck at pool, and I let him know this. He insisted we play anyway, and made fun of how terrible I was at it the whole time. Ended up dating him for about a year...

Another one, I was 19. Went to the movies with a guy I met at a party, seemed like a great guy at the party, but we had both been drinking heavily. We literally sat at dinner before the movie in silence for an hour (he didn't pay, but that's neither here nor there) He took me home in the middle of the movie claiming he had to "work early" :grumble:

My expectations are pretty low now, needless to say.

Met this guy on eharmony. Seemed pretty normal so we moved to texting. His profile said he worked for the Dept of Childrens and Families for the state. My mom works for the state so I had her check to see if he really did, no luck finding him. Whatever, maybe he's too new. Got tons of creepy vibes with talking via text telling me he wanted to make me happy, told him my dream vacation was Hawaii and he said I guess I'm saving for there now. Friends said to give him a chance so I agreed to drinks. Met him at the local bar in the casino. The guy was WAY shyer than me which I didn't think was possible. He asked about my Pandora bracelet, then proceeded to tell me he had one but never wore it, he just likes to collect the charms. I should've taken that chance to bolt but I didn't. Then told me he wanted to delete his eharmony account, um 1 date doesn't mean a relationship dude. He then wanted to leave the bar because it was too loud. Whatever fine with me. So we started walking around the casino. He asked to hold my hand. Seriously. If it had been anyone but him I might have thought it was sweet but since I already had the creepy vibe, it creeped me out even more. Grow a pair and grab my hand if you want to hold it. Then he asked if I wanted to go look at the charms because one of the shops sells Pandora charms. Um no way. The only suggestions he had for after the casino was to go back to his place which wasn't happening. The next morning I sent him a text saying I'm sorry I didn't feel a connection. He tried to guilt me saying oh I'm never good enough. Thankfully I never heard from him again

Wow. Where to start? There were a few that were really ummm... special. But I think the one that takes the cake is a blind date I went on, set up by my mother of all people. He picked me up. We went to dinner where he told me about all his health and medical problems and that his sister had died from the same conditions. We then went back to his (parents) house to watch a movie. We couldn't go to a theater because he "couldn't keep his butt shut." So that was pleasant. He introduced me to his parents with a different name and he had to keep leaving the room during the movie to go downstairs and "break wind." That was a one and only date for him. We were set up because we were both short and single. So much in common...

i cant close my mouth! oh my

I once went on a date where the guy kept paying me compliments. Although he was obviously just being nice but it was very intense!

That's always irritating. its hard to have a conversation when your constantly saying thank you..

My worse date lasted less than an hour. She turned up, told me that she had a party to go to later that evening, made me do all the talking and didn't ask a single question. A drink later, we said our goodbyes and that was that.

I went on a blind date once as well, but that was good. Ended up staying with her for over three years.

My last relationship started with a blind date too. The date itself lasted 2 days. The relationship- 5 years.

However, there was one date I went on as a college student with a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend.... they kept telling me how hilarious and quirky he was, how he had had terrible luck with women but really had a good heart, etc. He ended up taking me to a sketchy, low-ceiling bar for "burgers" (which I don't eat), then said he wanted to just drive around a talk, which I was fine with...
Unfortunately, his idea of a drive was vandalizing the lawn of two elementary schools and a high school he went to by doing donuts on them in his car. The "talking" consisted of him telling me how every teacher, every school, and every woman in his life has screwed him over, and they should all be made to pay. Obviously I was mortified... but what do you say to someone like that when you are IN THEIR CAR? I thought more than once about just opening the door and jumping out, but I was in an unfamiliar part of town and didn't really know where I would run to without him catching me and probably saying something like "Hey, was it something I said?"

I have a couple, One from when I was like 18. Guy was a delivery guy to restaurant I worked at. After a bit of heavy flirting he asks me out and picks me up with his friend. His friend is driving and instead of going to the movies and dinner we are now going to just drive around for a while. We sit in the back seat together, and the 'driver' processed to start drinking. We pull over into a parking lot and the driver puts his empties under the car. Suddenly the cops show up and make everyone get out of the car and ask who has been drinking.. NO tickets but the cop makes me drive the car away.. I proceed to drive myself home with the two boys in the back seat. and never spoke to the date again.

More recently met a man online dating. He was well off and attractive took very good car of himself. He invited me out to dinner. He calls early in the afternoon and he has to run some paperwork up to his accountant do I want to go, if not we will have to go out a different night. This is a first date and I figured I would go and it would give us a chance to get to know each other.
Well I got to know ALL about him, his hobbies, his children, his farm and all the money he makes, how smart he is.. etc..
He tells me he will cook me dinner at his place.. I figure after that I deserve a good dinner.
He is also REALLY into photography has sold some of his stuff to NatGeo!! So I’m impressed. We go to his place WAY out in the country, miles from town. He shows me some of his photography, a few videos of his daughters and him and other family helicopter skiing.. He is intense about a lot of stuff.
We go back to sit and talk in his living room and I develop a tickle in my throat, I think from how dusty and dirty his place is and he won’t even offer me a drink of water.. When he suddenly asks if I want to have sex with him.. I am speechless at first since I did NOT see this coming.. I tell him as polite no as I can while I am laughing..
He asks if I want to hit the road, I say yes please, thinking Im hungry!! and he takes me home... So no dinner for my dinner date and no water either… I still laugh at this one..

My co workers like to hear my bad dating stories, I keep them rolling in the isles...
I could keep writing but those two are the best of the worst I think….

Oh my gosh.. These are funny and terrible at the same time!

I went out with a guy a while back who seemed fantastic. Polite, thoughtful, smart and cute. So, we get to the restaraunt and he fast walks to the door, walks right in without me(meaning he didn't bother to hold the door). I followed him in and we were seated. At this point, he hadn't even made eye contact with me yet. I couldn't make conversation with him because he was on his damn cell phone and the only time he looked up was to check out women as they walked by.
When it was time to order, I started to talk and he interrupted me to order his food. We didn't talk AT ALL through the whole meal.
I wasn't expecting him to pay, but shockingly he did but of course seriously cheaped out on the tip. Then he asked me what I wanted to do next. I think he should have understood from the look on my face that I wasn't having it, but he said "Night in then? My house?" I said something about being tired and having to be up early the next morning. He tried to kiss me and I turned my face away.

Later on he texted me saying what a good time he has and how we had to go out again ASAP.
I didn't respond. I still get a "Hey babe!" text from him every so often.

haha, ouch. what a clueless idiot.

he took me to the cheapest pizza place in town for supper, which is fine.
I ate one piece of pizza, he ate the REST of it.
but then, he insisted i pay for half the meal.
we then went to a house party at his ex girlfriend's house
he left at some point to pick up his friend, (who was also a friend of mine and told me she had a crush on him.)
and because the date was going terrible, I decided I may as well get bombed & try have a good time
ended up having sex with him and getting pregnant.

    definitely the WORST date ever.

WOW hahahahaha but probably his best date ever
